The original estimate from another contractor was for $200 and turned out to be $450. Apparently these two contractors were not on the same page for the materials involved or the wiring path to the pump. Fuel costs were added to some materials and ckt breaker price, at $45. Labor was $300 for 4 hrs and materials $150, for the $450 total.
The wire to the pump should have been buried underground along with the sprinkler zone wire but he did not bring any and ran it through the attic instead. Everything worked OK after the installation, but will have to remove the cable through the attic and bury all of it underground with the sprinkler zone cable at a later date.
