He never gave me his estimate or did anything. I guess he didn't want to take the job. He seemed like a knowledgeable and nice person and I would have hired him, if only he would have called back.

Jim was punctual and friendly. His quality was excellent. He paid attention to the details and made sure he cleaned up every night before he left. He did all of the work himself. I am very pleased with the result, especially the quality of the job.

Left message on answering machine they did not even call back. Better off with hanndyman in local paper. will be applying for refund on cost of Angie's list.

I had another company come to my home to give me an estimate for replacing the tiles in my shower since water had seeped into the grouted area around the tiles making the tiles fall off the wall. I wanted the tiles replaced, if possible, without re-doing the entire shower stall since I had limited funds for the project. I was told the tiles were very old and would not be able to be matched up so I needed to do a complete shower gutting, plus all the tiles around the bathtub would have to be replaced since the new shower tiles wouldn't match! Of course, I couldn't afford his estimate of the repairs.
I called Jim Shaw for an estimate. He said he knew of the tile company that had sold the tiles 20 years ago when my home was built. He said he would try to find a local contact to try to purchase the matching tiles. The very next day he had found the tiles! He checked the soundness of the walls in the shower and found that the one wall was completely wet behind the tiles and only a portion of the other wall was wet. He said he wouldn't take out any more tiles/wall other than what was wet. He showed me everything he found whether it was good or bad every step of the repair work. After completing the shower repair, I was really pleased with his work. I then asked if he would replace the linoleum floor with ceramic tile. He advised me on the type of flooring suitable for my bathroom and my budget. I went to Lowe's and purchased the tile, along with the grout and caulking, suggested by Mr. Shaw. I was so pleased with the outcome of the floor, I asked him to do the guest bathroom floor, also.
Jim Shaw always called me in advance to let me know when he would arrive at my home. He let me know in advance every step he was taking in making the repairs. He worked alone, so it did take a few days to complete both bathrooms, but his finished project was well worth it. He was very precise in how the tiles were laid out, how the grout matched the tile, etc.
When I am ready to replace my kitchen and laundry room floors, I will call Jim Shaw!

When it comes to tiling, working with stone or marble Mr. Shaw is the person you want working for you!
He is a very honest, reasonable and trustworthy man that does beautiful tile setting work.
