Dunmire Carpentry-home Repair

The crown molding was really good.  I had to re-do the windows.  He did very good work around the baseboards.  The doors were mediocre.  He didn't slack off.  He was a hard worker.  He didn't do the finishing touches that I would have liked.

Once Harry finished the job he was working on, he came in and got right to work. He completed the demolition of the plant shelf and the existing fireplace mantle in one day. A couple days later the drywall (sub)contractor came in and was finished within a couple days.All the wallpaper in the house was stripped within a week.It would have been sooner but the paper in a couple rooms had apparently been applied directly to the finished drywall. Harry then moved on to relocating the closet door from just inside the master bath, to the wall in the master bedroom. He also replaced the sliding doors with bi-fold doors. While Harry was working on the closet, the tile (sub)contractor removed the accent tile in the guest bath and replaced it with something more to my liking. He also re-faced the fireplace surround and the hearth with multi color slate tiles where there had been white ceramic tiles. The tile work was now completed and Harry finished the work on the closet. Next, the drywall contractor came back in and textured several of the interior walls and the ceiling where it had been patched. He did a really good job matching the texture on the ceiling where the plant shelf had been! I bought laminate flooring to be installed throughout the main part of the house, which I had installed through the store where I bought it. However, after that was finished, Harry installed new baseboards (trimming them to accomodate the new floor) and painted the interior of the house (with the exception of the closets). Although Harry didn't get the ceiling on the back porch finished before I moved in, it didn't matter. It was out of the way and when he did come back very soon after, he did an amazing job. He had completely torn down the original ceiling, put in insulation (there was no barrier in the attic between the living space and the porch), put up half inch thick plywood covering it with a beadboard plank paneling and trimming it out. All the joints lined up amazingly well, something that is hard to accomplish, even for a seasoned professional!

As with all the work Harry has done for us, he did an excellent job. In the past years he has hung decorator double screen doors, repaired roofing leaks, rebuilt damaged walls, in our utility room he has built an entire pantry storage cabinet with pull out drawers.There is very little that he cannot do, but he will tell you if it is not possible for him.
We gave Harry a B in responsiveness because sometimes his busy schedule prevents him from making contact with us. But if there is an emergency, such as a water leak, he will contact us immediately and give us top priority. He is the only person we call for all of our repair jobs. We are more than willing to wait for him when he is busy.

He did an excellent job. He's a very neat and clean guy and does the job right the first time around.
