Things started off OK. We scheduled a time, they showed up reasonably on time. They placed some bait tubes in the attic, and left for a week. That was fine, as they explained it, it takes some times for the rats to take the bait and die. Came back a week later and "closed" up the roof. It seemed things were fine for a while. But I kept hearing noises in the attic every now and then. I kept telling myself I was just over reacting, houses normally make noises. Did not contact the company. About 5 months after the original work, started hearing unmistakable clawing and scratching noises. 100% sure at this point something was back in the attic. Poked my head up in the attic and noticed that the insulation had been chewed away from one of the AC freon lines in the attic. Called the company, they sent someone out. Told them what I was hearing, where I heard most of the activity, and the damage to the AC line. Up to this point, other than the problem not getting taken care of completely I was happy with the companies service. No one is perfect, and I accept that sometimes things don't go right the first time. If the problem had been resolved, I would have been a happy camper, but things didn't go well from here. After coming out, they informed me that yes they had a warranty, but if they didn't believe there where rats in the attic, they would charge me $180 service fee. I was not happy about this, seeing as I paid an exorbitant amount of money and have a warranty, but I understand their concerns about people just wanting a re-treatment for free. Regardless, I'm 100% sure I have rats, and I have proof that something is in my attic because the A/C line has been chewed. They put more bait tubes in the attic and left. It was a little hard to get them back out (took several calls), but eventually they came back out. The tech indicated that he did not believe rats where in the attack, not enough activity in the tubes, and claimed the A/C damage was from original infestation. Now, I've been in and out of that attic many times when the original problem occurred, and am certain that the insulation was not damaged as part of the problem. Also, he is telling me I don't have rats, but I hear them all the time. The tech did take the time to walk the roof and the property and indicated he did not see any place for rats to make it in my house. He also said that the clawing noises could be little lizards in the attic. Then he asked me for $180 bucks, I then asked to have the manager give me a call before paying the bill. My goal was to discuss options we might have for figuring out how to solve my problem, because I am 100% sure I have rats. Several weeks go by, no call back. I go out to the hardware store and buy a handful of new traps, put them back up in the attic on a Thursday. Check them on Saturday, and have a dead rat in the trap. Take pictures, but leave the trap in the roof. Call them first thing Monday morning, tell the customer service lady about the original treatment, the problems I have been having, the whole history, and that I have a dead rat in a trap thats been there for several days. I ask if they want me to leave the rat in the trap. She indicates she doesn't know, but she'll get right back to me. 4 PM Monday afternoon rolls around, never been called back, so I call the company back. Speak to the same lady, says she understands the rat has been in the trap for several days, needs me to leave it alone, but someone will call back either that night or the next day. No calls back, so I call Tuesday around 11, get voicemail (left voicemail), called Tuesday at 4, get voicemail, call Wednesday, get voicemail (left voicemail). I've called 5 times by now, stinking rat in the roof and no help from the company. It has been 2 more days now and no call backs. I am extremely frustrated at this point, especially after trying to work with them to resolve the problem and then being ignored. All the while I am writing this, hearing the rats in the attic!
