Absolutely Unacceptable Experience – Poor Workmanship and Deceptive Practices I hired Dolphin Carpet and Tile expecting professional service and high-quality results. Instead, I received an incomplete, mishandled, and frustrating experience from start to finish. .It was a TOTAL NIGHTMARE! DO NOT GO HERE! !!!WARNING!!! If Edward Lennox is your sales person RUN AWAY!!!! During the first installation, the crew arrived with insufficient material—something a professional company should have ensured before starting the job. They completed about 75% of the work before informing me they didn’t have enough material to finish. To make matters worse, I was told there was no more material available. After over an hour of phone calls, they “miraculously” found more material—but only if I agreed to pay an additional $390. Even worse, the master bedroom and closet remain unfinished, as shown in the photos I submitted. Communication from their regional manager was beyond unprofessional. I received text messages stating they would not complete the job unless I signed paperwork agreeing to their terms and removed my credit card dispute. This was essentially a threat—do what we say, or we don’t finish the work you already paid for. During the second visit, they installed the wrong colored material and spliced it to try and match the white section. They then taped it down with blue tape and told me not to remove it for 48 hours. Once the tape came off, it was obvious they had used brown material instead of white—a clear attempt to cover up their mistake. I paid premium rates to a company I believed to be reputable. Instead, I’m now forced to hire another company to fix the mess they left behind. The installers were not only careless—they were deceitful, attempting to hide poor work instead of making it right. I do not recommend Dolphin Carpet and Tile to anyone. Their customer service is dismissive, their practices are shady, and the quality of work is unacceptable. Save yourself the stress and choose a company that actually stands behind its work.

I agree with the other reviews RUN!! They are very unprofessional and the Sales rep Ed does not return calls. They did a horrible job and refuse to come back and fix it. This is my second time using them and the first experience was not good either. I feel I an idiot for giving them another chance to mess up my floors and stress me out.

On August 11, 2012 we contracted this company to install tile and carpet in our condo. The salesman was very nice and the sale was very easy. Unfortunantly the sale was the last easy transaction when dealing with these shysters. Sales rep was Andre Corey. The tile installer, Pablo, was very unprofessional and rude.  Our walls were ripped up when they unwillingly removed the base boards.  The painters took pictures of our walls because they were so mortified at the condition they had left our walls.  We had to pay an additional $120.00 to fix our walls which we forwarded to Dolphin Carpet $ tile for them to pay it.  No response from them. Everything had an inch of dust on it from NO cleanup whatsoever.  We paid good money for this job and were very disapointed with the amount of cleanup we had to do ourselves. Our patio tiles were brown, but when they finished it was white from all the thin set and dust.  No amount of cleaning will bring them back to their original color.  Also, when the refrigerator was connected back up to the water supply, it was leaking.  We could have had a flood from the ice maker connection leaking as no one was living in the unit at the time. Also, they supposedly found  a crack in the foundation and charged us an additional $300.00 to fix it.  We didn't physically see the crack as we live in the Florida Keys and the condo is in West Palm Beach. All that the installer could say was "It's not my job".  Also the tile sealer was not inculded in my contract.  We found this out from our friendly installer, Pablo, who offered to do this job for us for an additional $500.00. We felt like we were being pressured into doing something we had no idea about. We didn't know if we needed the tile sealed or not. Turns out we did it ourselves for around $50 and several hours of work. Thanks Home Depot. We had to beg them to move the appliances off the porch, where they had put them, back into the house, as a hurricane was coming. Also the garage was a disaster.  That was just our experience with the tile.  The carpet installation is a whole other story. The regional manager, Ron Shaffer, was very rude and unhelpful.  He actually hung up on me!!! When the carpet installer, Rodrigo Marinho, arrived he informed me that the carpet was too small for our room, so therefore he would have to stretch it.  In the process of stretching it, it was ripped. The installer was very polite and honest.  Rodrigo told his bosses that the carpet was ripped but Ron Shaffer, Regional Manager, didn't care.  He informed us that we had to take the carpet and they would put 5 or 6 seams down the other side of carpet and that was "standard operating procedure" for installing carpet and then hung up on me.  I called him back and he told me I had no choice but to accept this carpet.  We would have fired him except we were under a time constraint as this is rental property and the new tenant was moving in that week.   Never ever use this company for anything

Their showroom in Deerfield Beach is very impressive.  We did not see this many options to choose from anywhere else. Bentley was extremely helpful. I highly recommend that you talk to him. His guys showed up on time for estimate and installation. Work quality was excellent and we received what we were promised. Although, their price was a bit higher (about 5%) than what we were quoted by couple of other contractors, I think it was well worth it.

Dealt with a very nice salesperson who gave an all inclusive price of $7k including taxes for installation and product. Gave 50 % deposit. A few days later he called and said I owed sales tax since the company charged me incorrectly and if I wanted the tiles polished after installation, that would now be extra. I was livid and after some fuss, these charges were waived. When the tile arrived for installation it was something very different to what I ordered. The foreman called his boss and all work stopped . I was invited to meet with her ( Karen ) and it was very difficult to actually get any argument in. The lady does not shut up. Dolphin claim the tile is from the same batch and therefore perfect and what I ordered except it is totally the wrong shade. They won't let me cancel because that would be a breach of my contract. Something tells me they have been down this road before. Luckily for me they have a more expensive tile that is the color I want that can be delivered for just another $700. The attitude of Dolphin management through this process was both condescendirng and rude. I had no choice to accept and go forward with the installation hoping that at least I could get a good job done. But the saga continued, The contract only allowed for 16 bags of thinset to be used in my installation and my new tiles required and extra 40 bags at an additional $16 per bag. I had to rent a smoothing tool for another $500 and my $7000 job turnd into $8800. I was very disappointed with Dolphin. You can purchase excellent quality tile at better prices and get an honest installation from Florida Decor without all the drama and stress. I bought bathroom tiles there and had an installation completed perfectly within budget. Dolphin seem to be a working with a used car salesman approach ( lets get as much out of the customer as we can at any cost ) and if it backfires we have our contract to keep us nice and warm. I won't be doing business with them again. At least the installation looks ok, even though they will not warranty their work. Oh, and I'm still waiting for my keys to be returned.

First of all, we had to leave a deposit to bring the carpet home to check the color, I thought this was refundable, I did not know that we were unable to get out of the contract at that point. I tried calling Jeff Katz, who I see on TV every morning and some other Jeff kept calling back, you are not able to make contact with the owner. I begged to cancel our order due to financial difficulties, but they would not do it. They also advised that the carpet was pet friendly, NOT.....the carpet is one year old and totally warn out looking. I have been in customer service for 30 + years, and have never had such poor service. Also, we moved all of the furniture out of our living room, they came to install the carpet, and it was the wrong carpet, so they had to reorder and did not help us move any of our furniture (either time)

After visiting retail location in Deerfield, selected several types of tile and were quoted a price and signed an agreement for about $2700, with installation to be started on a Thursday and finished on Friday. On Wed we were called and told our salesman made a mistake of about $1000. Since we were on tight timetable we complained loudly but agreed to go forward if they could begin the next day Thursday. Several hours later they called and said could not begin until Friday. Half way through the installation, the installer informed me that due to unleveled floor they would need 4 more bags of thin set mortar and I would have to pay. We were now so incensed we said no, called the company and told them we were not paying again. After arguing for some time, they agreed to waive the additional $. After all the bait and switch money issues it was not easy to be objective about the finished product, but we are satisfied with the work of the contract installers. The agreement you sign with these people only obligates you to conditions so be aware. To state the obvious we will never do business with them again.

The salesmen was totally incompetent and quoted me price of $1500 and I have spent $2700. They just made an unauthorized charge to my Mastercard for $100.00. The salesman forgot to order tile for the bathroom, which of course raised the price. He also called me a few days after the estimate and told me he had made a mistake and raised the estimate to $1930. By this time I had given them a deposit of $750 that was non-refundable and I was stuck with them; Then forgot to order to cushioning for soundproofing. They did not take the refrigerator out of the kitchen when they laid the tile they pushed it up against the dishwasher and bent the frame and now it is lopsided and leaks. They tried to correct the problem but they made it worse. I cannot even use it because it leaks so bad. They were very sloppy and the grouting is terrible. They made a mess of the baseboards and scratched my stainless steel sink with a pail they were using to mix the grout. They left a horrible mess in the sink that I had to clean up. They left electrical cords and tools everywhere when they would leave for the day I am elderly and have poor balance trying to get around these things. They left a mess down the catwalk and I live in a condo and some of the neighbors complained. The grout was not the color I selected and I stopped them immediately when I noticed and they ignored me and kept using the wrong grout. The tile does not meet the carpet adequately and I have to pay them more to come fix it. I used them 10 years and they were great but this has been a disaster. When they disconnected the water line from the ice maker they walked through the water and tracked dirt from their shoes onto my carpet and got it filthy. They demanded the balance before the job was completed, I objected but thought they would not finish the job so I paid them. I had no choice. The job was supposed to take 2 days and it has been 3 weeks. When I complained about the salesman I was told he was new and he has improved. When I told them I was going to report them to Angie's List they could not have cared less.
