Smart design

MJ measured, created a design, and provided an estimate and detailed to-scale drawing, all during the same visit.  The important thing was that he understood exactly what I wanted and produced it, first on paper, then with the installation a couple of weeks after I placed the order.  Smart Design matched the stain from a sample I provided exactly.
They also made a special trip to remove and haul away the original 70s-vintage vanity and a large mirror without additional charges when a hitch developed with another contractor.
The new vanity is very well built.  The entire box is 3/4-inch plywood, and it has a back.  Everything else is solid wood.  (Most of the suppliers I looked at offer only 1/2-inch plywood sides, if that, and many of their vanities have open backs and MDF drawer fronts.)  All of the doors and drawers are solid wood and are soft closing.  The drawer bottoms are stained and finished plywood.  The interiors of the drawers match the rest of the vanity (unlike some that provide a standard color regardless of the stain on the cabinet itself).  Everything works well, and you could hold a dance on the countertop, it's that sturdy.
