"Hi [Member Name Removed], thank you so much for the review on Angie. I truly appreciate your business! It was a pleasure working with you and your dad on this project! I look forward to working with you in the future. I will be in touch to schedule the installation of your new ceiling fans and mini blinds. Have a great day!"
"[Member Name Removed], It was my pleasure to work with you on your kitchen remodel. It’s always nice to work for customers who appreciate quality workmanship. I look forward to servicing your needs in the future. Thanks - Alex"
As always (and we've known him for over 10 years, he did quality work. Because it was a small job and we weren't in a hurry, I asked him to fit us in between his larger projects and he did. He arrived on time and fully prepared to handle all the work, in a fully equipped and well-maintained van.
We don't hesitate to leave him the keys if we are away from home.
"I am sorry to hear of your discontent. Given the fact that at the conclusion of our meeting you shook my hand and told me you would keep me in mind for future work, I am perplexed by your review. So allow me to elaborate on the facts and conclusively set the record straight. When we first spoke on the telephone, you requested same day or next day service. Immediately I informed you the rest of my week was booked up, baring a cancellation, and I would be starting a bathroom remodel that would consume the next four weeks. I suggested you call someone else. I also offered to stop by and look at the job when I was in your neighborhood so that in the event of a cancellation, perhaps I could lend you a few hours. If at that time you had not found another contractor, once I had a precise idea of what the job entailed, I offered to contact professionals in my circle to see if perhaps they could squeeze you in. However, I did reiterate the fact that you should not depend on my having a cancellation and that you should actively pursue other leads. During our telephone conversation you informed me you tore out the drywall and the ceiling in your kitchen in an attempt to convert it into a vaulted ceiling to meet the lines of the existing vaulted ceiling in the adjacent room. You were requesting my services to rehang the drywall. At the job site a few days later, I discovered the following things needed to be done before drywall could be hung: (1) doorway openings needed to be reframed; (2) 2” x 4” vaulted ceiling structure needed to be reframed; (3) the soffit and the beams needed reconstruction to support the new ceiling; (4) an electrician needed to rewire lighting for the new ceiling; (5) air conditioning duct work and vents needed to be rehung; and (6) insulation needed to be installed. Let me be abundantly clear. At no time did I ever give you an excuse of how hard the job looked nor did I tell you I didn’t do that type of work. Quite to the contrary, I provided you a detailed explanation about the scope of work that needed to be completed before the installation of the drywall. Based on my 35 years of construction experience, I estimated it would take 4 to 5 days to complete that work. Given the depth of the work, even if I had a few hours to spare, there was no conceivable way I could bring it to the point of drywall within your specific time frame. I told you I would reach out within my network to see if someone else could help you. At that point you told me that you already had other contractors look at this job and you weren’t understanding why “no one wanted your money”. You shook my hand and told me you would keep me in mind for future work. After I left your jobsite, I reached out to a contractor friend. As fate would have it, he told me he had looked at your job two weeks prior and told you the same thing—you had a lot of reconstruction to do before you could hang drywall. I was still in the process of trying to find you a contractor when you posted this review. In light of the gross misrepresentation of the facts, I felt compelled to respond to your review. I find your review to be offensive, dishonest, deceitful, and disrespectful. I have built my reputation on sincerity, integrity, honesty and reliability. I believe it is these virtues that have sustained my career and also have enabled me to consistently receive “A” ratings here on Angie’s List. Thank you to all my faithful customers! I am eternally grateful to all of you who take the time to write a review. If it wasn’t for you, I would not have been awarded Angie’s List “Super Service Award” in 2014. It has been a pleasure working for you and I look forward to working for you again in the future. Sincerely, Alex"
"(Member name removed)- Thank you for the opportunity to work for you. I am glad we were able to complete your projects. Please let me know when you would like me to return to addressed your other projects."
- It went great. Alex came in introduced himself and went to work. He had all the parts and materials needed. Knew exactly what to do and how to do it. Cleaned up when finished. Great job. I'm keeping his card.
Having Alex here was like having a friend visit...a friend with great skills! He is already scheduled to come back later this month and I wouldn't consider using anyone else for my handyman needs! I recommend him highly!
1. Replace outside faucet which had a drip
2. Install new ceiling fan in cathedral ceiling
3. Rehang pocket door that came off track
4. Clean and repair gutters
5. Hang towel bar that was loose
6. Tighten and replace bulbs in cathedral ceiling
Alex also recommended a window company to come out and give us service on some garage windows that would not open, which also went well. The only hiccup we had was the electrician that was coming out to assist with the fan install didn't show the first time. Other than that, he was courteous, quiet, clean, and accommodating. And personable. Did I say personable???? :) Alex will be the first I call when I need more services.
I let Alex know of my time constraints and he agreed to have this completed to meet them. Alex left, picked up the parts, returned with in a half hour, completed the door, cleaned up and left me with a sliding patio door like new and plenty of time to make my appointment.
I will use Alex's services again. Also he is Licensed and insured, which is not mentioned on Angies list. Very very happy with Alex's work!
