He came out and gave us the estimate and even showed us the materials he was going to use. The materials were good. He wanted $4000.00 for the entire job. We thought that was a good price so we agreed to it. He was recommended by a neighbor who I later found out that this "company" was founded by this guy's father. He demanded 3/4 of the price down and I said no way as I wouldn't usually give more than 1/2. But, I did end up giving it to him because of the materials that were needed. He got about 2/3rds of the fence up and demanded another $600.00 from me and I told him that he would get paid the remainder of the contract when the job was finished. He told me that if I didn't give him the money that he didn't know when he would be able to finish the job. he called me about a week later and said he got the money to finish our job. He got another job and we concluded that he used that money to finish our fence. He ended up finishing our job and he did a nice job. If he hadn't gotten that other job, I don't know if Id' have a fence today. The time it took to put the fence up was a lot longer than what we were told. (We were told a week and it ended up being about 2).
Description of Work: We hired him to put up a fence in our backyard.
