I sent in an approved work order to replace 5 fluorescent fixtures with LEDs, add one additional 3 foot fixture, and add a junction box. Finally, after 2 weeks of waiting and unanswered emails sent to Rodney Foust, the estimator, asking for status, they finally showed up to complete the work - at 10 am for an 8 am appointment. They had none of the 5 fixtures supposedly ordered for my work. I agreed to a time and materials alternative - replacing the ballasts instead of new fixtures since they would have to "reorder" the fixtures. They arrived at 10 am and completed the work slightly before 12. I was charged for 3 hours at $115 per hour for 2 hours of actual work - a total "time" cost of $345. Apparently an hour of drive time was charged. Materials totaled $469 including $100 for 5 ballasts (the only price they would share). So we paid $369 for (1) a 3 foot fixture, (2) 10 4-foot LED bulbs, and (3) a junction box - "material" costs only I paid the workers, but later called and left a voice message for Eric (a supervisor?) asking for a breakdown of the materials. Eric has elected to ignore my call. The work performed seems fine. However, I would have expected Giles to be more interested in communicating with their customers. The estimator would not answer emails regarding status. The workers would not provide materials costs. The supervisor does not respond to calls. I elected to go with Giles as they received a high recommendation from a local lighting store (Wholesale Lighting). I will be sure to pass my experience in working with Giles along to them so they can advise their customers appropriately. My advice . . . . lots of electrician options in Port Orange. Do not include Giles in your search.

Over an eight year period of time, I've probably used them three times.

I had called several companies in my immediate area but many did not return my calls. Those who did could not give me a definitive date and time. From my first phone call to Giles to when I paid the bill, they were professional and helpful. Their work was superb and satisfied my insurance company. They arrived on time and ready to work. The electrician went above an beyond crawling around under the house and up in the attic to get the job done and done right.

They spent a whole morning here. They had to take the old fixtures out and the new fixtures in. It was relatively complicated. They came on time and did what they were supposed to do. They cleaned up their mess before they left. Everything worked.

Excellent. Originally they came out almost immediately after they had been recommended by the fire department to discover the source of an electrical smell. They discovered something in the water heater that was burning the insulation. I then hired them to add outlets in the furnace room and garage.

Terrific! There was some rewiring of the new case to accept the bypass switch, but otherwise, it was a piece of cake for the experienced electrician. The many years since this Intermatic timer was installed brought change to this model and took some expert "fiddling" to accomplish my request to add the bypass switch from the old model to the new one. On a very humid summer morning, the work was completed in just about an hour!

While installing a shelf I drove a screw through wiring that had been placed on the face of the stud. Giles installed boxes on both ends of the bad section pulled the bad wiring and spliced in new wiring.

Initial call answered promptly by officestaff. She left word with the technician to call me. While I was still on the phone with her, she said if I did not receive a call from the tech within fifteen minutes, I was to call her back and she would try to get him again. I received a call from the tech within five minutes. He said he had to finish up a job and would be over. He came, assessed the situation, found the problem and replaced the defective part. He then tested the equipment and got proper readings with appliances running and not running. He was very personable and professional. Will definitely use Giles Electric when another need arises.

This was an extensive process and we cannot be more pleased. Rodney Foust came out immediately and gave us an estimate for the work to be done. This was an older home where the panel needed to be completely replaced. The wiring was in an absolute mess. They also coordinated with FPL to change the over the roof wiring to underground. After the mechanical contractors replaced the air handler unit with 2 new units (in the attic area), the Electricians added circuits and wired the new units. The people that did the work were professional and very helpful when questions were asked. I will be using Giles again for all of my future electrical needs.

Rod arrived on time to provide an estimate for services. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous, and answered all of our questions, while providing useful suggestions. After waiting several days for parts, service was provided by Barry, who arrived on time and did a great job on the electrical services provided. He also was very professional and courteous, as well as efficient and congenial. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company based upon this overall performance.

This remodel when well from start to finish they were professional and punctual . We had to have our circuit panel updated because our house was built in 1965. Also we needed more circuits available for the new appliances. They did the panel box and all the outlets needed for the new kitchen . They even added some last minute light fixtures for us with no problems. They were on time every time they came . I would highly recommend this company. They were also 600.00 less then the other guys. We are very pleased. We also have used them in the past to install other outlets in the house for ceiling fans and that also went very well.

Our central air was installed less than one year ago so we called the a.c. company with our woes. We couldn't stand another night without air conditioning. The service technician came and said it wasn't anything wrong with the a.c. Advised us to call an electrician because nothing at all was wrong with the a.c. unit itself.
O.K. We called Giles Elec. who sent a technician to check all the wiring, breakers, etc. that concern the a.c. After lots of looking and checking, he found a wire that was never connected correctly and the little screw thing had to be secured with the wire properly tucked in there. He had us cooling off soon enough. We paid the service call and were done with it! Maybe not hard to do, but it was hard to find!
Our technician (Craig) was just wonderful. He roasted in this sauna we call home and we all felt sorry for him. He was a gentleman through and through. Hope he has no long-lasting problems from dehydration or heat stroke.

I had called and set up an appointment for them to come out and that THEY would be here no later than noon and was expecting more than one person to come out. I received a call at 12:10 saying that one guy would be out soon. The work he did was excellent, but he was only here for 4.5 hours the first day and I was expecting all of the work to be finished that day. Instead, he had to come out a 2nd day and work an additional 6 hours by himself. Again, he did great work, but I was not expecting to have one person coming out for multiple days. I was hoping that multiple electricians would be coming out to finish the projects in one day.

The tech was prompt, on time, friendly, explained everything as he went, and did not try to upsell any services or products. Their company has done several jobs for us, and we will always call them because they are always professional.

Estimate was accurate and acceptable due to the fact that the room had no previous ceiling lights or wiring and the light bulbs being installed were LEDs.
On the day of the project, two electricians arrived on time. They were professional and listened to my description of the work to be performed. After that, they got straight to work.
They started on the exterior of the house and installed two exterior, weather-proof, GFCI outlets. They located two outlets on the interior of the house, drilled through the exterior wall, ran wire from the interior outlet to the exterior of the home, and installed the weatherproof receptacles. Afterwards, they cleaned up the work area and proceeded to the inside of the house. This part was done in approximately 45 min to 1 hour.
Inside the home, they installed 6 recessed LED light fixtures and a new dimmer switch, along with the associated wiring. The room in question did not have previous overhead lighting. They first lay down a tarp to protect the work area. They also carefully measured the location of each recessed light prior to cutting. The made sure that the lights were placed symmetrically and maximized the lighting. After the project was done, they cleaned up and vacuumed after themselves.
The estimator had said that the entire project would last about 6 hours, but they were gone in 4 hours.
Great job and great professionals, I would highly recommend them and I will definitely use them again!
