First Class Moving and Storage, Daytona Beach, FL: This moving company is NOT “First Class”; more accurately, “LAST Class”! I’m only giving this company one star because NO stars is not an option. I cannot express in words how terrible, bad and stressful this move was. Here are some of the reasons: 1. After the owner of the company, Scott, walked through our entire home and discussed in detail all items that were to be moved, for a residential move, from Daytona Beach 32119 to Daytona Beach 32114, we received a written estimate for $1,014.75. This was for seven hours at a rate of $125/hr.; travel time of .5 hrs. at a rate $95; 6.5% tax and a credit card swipe fee of 3.5%. When two movers from Scott’s company came to pick up our twenty plus years of personal belongings, the job took an additional mover (3-man labor) for an additional 2.5 hours at a rate of $155/hr. The final contract that we signed, under duress, was for a GRAND total of $1,441. 2. The owner, Scott, DOES NOT EVER come into the picture again once the contract is signed. 3. Scott was referred to us by his best friend, Adam, of MPP Coatings. MPP Coatings were doing the work on our floors and did NOT meet their deadline. As a result, all of our boxes and furniture were left in the middle of each room and NEVER made it to the rightful rooms. 4. All boxes were labeled, “FRAGILE” and room designations were on each and every box. Upon unpacking, expensive items were damaged. When brought to Scott’s attention, his response was, “Prove it”. 5. We suffered greatly with the damage in delivering our treasures. It took a toll both physically and mentally on both my husband an myself. 6. Scott has NOT provided us with the name and phone number of his insurance company to file a claim. Unfortunately, we did not take out additional insurance, as this was the first time we have ever made a move of this caliber before. 7. Bottom line, based on our extremely stressful experience with this company, I would NEVER, EVER recommend this company to my family, friends or anyone! This entire move has been an expensive nightmare!
