Sloppy workmanship, broken glass, screws, window parts all around the yard (from old windows). The tarps they used all had holes in them to catch old windows pieces. Broke a corner inside of the most expensive window, had to replace roller wheel on another, refused to put shims in a loose window. Wants to sell us another new window to replace the loose one , broke sprinkler that had bright orange surveyor safety tape I put on so would be would careful. Used wrong color chalk, grey instead of bronze. Chalking on wall inside and out, on tile window sills, back of couch AND even wiped on cat! They have been to our home 4-5 times to repair cheap chalking that keeps drying out and leaving holes and coming back next week supposedly to fix more of there mess. Owner John Tyndal is not a pro nor a businessman. Just a hothead that likes to take advantage of his customers and seniors by cursing, lying, disrespecting- that's what he's a pro at. The worst home improvement project ever. Oh and he will hang up on you, after he finally gets done yelling. It was a wham bam job just over two hours for ten openings. You should see the other reviews online. He has ruined a great company name. WARNING WARNING STAY AWAY
Response from Allied Window Co
"Can't respond to majority of these claims as in this review is the first I've heard of it. Office staff said when he came in to pay after completion the only complaint he had was one window was hard to open. Sent someone to look at it and the window was fine, just in an awkward position at the head of the bed. Homeowner would go from side of bed to other side of bed, opening window in a teeter-totter fashion, instead of from the center. Someone else then told him he should've got a horizontal slider there, so he then blamed us for not doing that, but his original estimate was for horizontal sliders and he did not want that, he requested an up-and-down (single hung) window. He still complained about this window so we setup for the manufacturer to go out and check it out. Manufacturer's representative also concluded the window was installed to spec and worked correctly. He still complained about this window, so called him and was going to offer to replace the window with a horizontal slider (free of cost just to make him happy). But then as I'm trying to offer to him, all he did was berate me and blame me for the other window, as if we forced him to buy to the style HE requested. After that, I offered him the replacement horizontal slider at cost (no markup, no labor) just covering cost of the window, as it was not our fault he doesn't like what he ordered. He then said he didn't want a slider, he wanted us to buy a larger bottom sash for the existing window, that is not something that is possible. We cannot help someone who doesn't want to be helped. As for the "grey" caulking, we do not have grey caulk, we only carry: White, Bronze, and Beige. On his job we used DAP Dynaflex 230 "Dark Bronze" color caulk, it is an architectural bronze color. We've had no complaints from others with this caulk."

Great! I could not have asked for a more positive outcome. I want to add that the tech (Gary) has worked on windows for over 30 years and he knew exactly what needed to be done to fix my windows. Thanks, Gary

Positives:
Very good experience. We researched windows for a long time and got upwards of 8 estimates. Allied was by far the most straight forward estimate, detailed, and informative. They have a showroom where you can look at the products and they even showed us the warehouse area in back. We had an excelled contractor they recommended do our front window (we had to repair some rot and siding on the front window so that job was separate). Allied coordinated with the contractor for that window and everything went very smoothly. They have been in the area for the longest time and we feel confident that they will back their windows for the life of the warrantee.
Negatives:
The caulking on the replacement windows install was a little rough on the exterior. They did not clean the windows very well. However, Allied sent someone out the next day to clean the windows. The bedrooms are a lot cooler/warmer now than before.

Allied Window Co is so popular. They have good prices but they don't make their own windows, they buy them. The guy was hesitant to give us information like who did the glass.
Response from Allied Window Co
"Allied worked with the (member name removed) for hours to provide them with every answer they needed, they just did not accept that Florida made Glass different then "Up North"."

I researched window companies and got a couple of estimates. Allied was recommended by a friend who had used them to replace her windows and was very pleased with the quality of the result. We decided to not only replace all of the windows and sliders but to install hurricane resistant ones. Allied was one of the more expensive but the quality of the product was amazing (I'd researched the manufacturers and even the inspector said they were one of the best) and we liked the fact that Allied is a local company that has been in business for many years. There was no pressure sales and all questions were answered honestly. The estimator was obviously very experienced and came up with great options for our large window sizes. We decided to go with the hurricane resistant windows and doors as we live beachside and did not want to have to deal with all of the ancillary work and components necessary to pass the permit inspection. The installation was done over 2 days. The installers did an excellent job of removing the old ones and installing the new ones even when they came upon a couple of hidden and quot;surprisesand quot;. They were very neat and only a very small amount of touch up was necessary - amazing considering there were 2 large sliders and 13 windows. We are thrilled with our new windows! The house is unbelievably quiet!! We lliterally don't hear any street noise (unless they're missing a muffler) and have to look outside to see if it's raining! The difference is stunning! They enhance the entire house. One of the best aspects of our purchase has been the unanticipated decline in our cooling costs - we've been saving up to $50/month without changing our thermostat settings! I would highly recommend Allied Windows and their fabulous products. They're not inexpensive but I felt very confident working with them and you definitely get what you pay for and they're worth every penny.

The four workers were prompt and in their Allied T-shirts. They installed the doors quickly and we are very happy with the quality of the doors as well as the installation.
