Did not follow the kitchen plan as developed by Home Depot.  Did not align cabinet doors when asked to do so.  Did not level bathroom floor prior to tile installation resulting in a crack in the tile under one fixture.  Kitchen sink leaked after installation.  Immediately after installation, kitchen sink did not drain due to the location of the P-trap with respect to the vent.  Tub overflow was not connected, resulting in a significant amount of water leaking out when bathtub was more than a few inches full.   Did not install kitchen crown molding, base molding and cabinet filler strips as required.  When instructed to do so, they displayed anger and damaged the ceiling.  Shower faucet would not provide warm water after installation.  A1 management (the installer) said the fixture was faulty.  Another staff member fixed it.  Kitchen faucet was initially installed improperly and A1 management stated that it was working as designed.  Faucet instructions and specifications said otherwise.  A staff member fixed the issue by reinstalling it.  During their work on our project, on numerous occasions we observed A1 management using abusive and obscene language to retailers, service providers, sub-contractors.  After we posted a review that listed the above issues, A1 management used similar abusive language and issued threats.  I have the text of the message that was sent to me.

A total disaster. James Slater was hired to paint our front wall and take down an awning that we no longer required. He did a fine job on that and since he was there I offered him the job to do a garage floor finish on a walkway. It was a little puzzling that they could finish the walkway in one day, which required power washing, etching, and 2 coats of paint in one day, but he assured me no problem. The next morning I was shocked to see the concrete patch stand out against the smooth finish of the concrete like elephant skin. He was called back the next day and put full blame on the materials that were provided by Lowes. Two days after that the paint started coming up. He refused to take any responsibility and we never saw or heard from him again. We will never hire A1 / James Slater again . It was a slop job we received .

It wasn't a positive experience and it wasn't a nice decision. They did a sloppy work and it took them longer than we expected. They were in our house for over a week and I thought at least they'd make sure that everything's meticulously done. The gentleman who came was very personable and their price was fair. I don't think it was the lack of effort; it was just that the job they did for me was not as professional as I thought it should have been. Had I known, I never would have hired them.

A1 Handyman was hired through my property manager to repair the screen door and repair a section of screen in the "bird cage" surrounding our pool.  My husband and I inspected the work afterwards.  They replaced a screen door closer (installing a used part; a new closer only cost $13).  Further, our bill stated they replaced a section of screen.  In reality, they only secured the existing screen with spline.  We were charged $158 for this repair!  This company took advantage of property owners who reside out of the state.  BEWARE!!!

Everything was done to perfection. first time I had people working that didn't let the dog get out. James and his crew are perfectionists. They had a lot of trouble drilling holes in tile for the grab bar, but wouldn't stop until the job was done right.

They were out to give an estimate the day after I placed my call. He gave an estimate that day and emailed the contract. They were here to meet the truck delivering materials, and were here everyday by 7AM, working until the job was finished. The started and finished on time, and I am very pleased with the work .
