He was incredibly honest and told me it would be more economical to buy a new stove instead of repairing the broken cooktop - he then called me later when he found the identical model at a local appliance store. I have never encountered a repair person who is this honest. He could have made a lot of money on this job if he wasn't upfront about the pro/cons of repair vs. replace.
