Not soon after the work, it rained, well, the SAME areas where I called them for in the first place are still leaking. I contacted them to let them know and they sent someone to check it out. Well, the person told me the leaks were coming from somewhere else, that I needed to put some stucco in some areas. I could not believe it! They sold me a new roof knowing that was not my problem to begin with. I wrote them asking to fix the problem , since I did not want to go with the hassle of a lawsuit. I have yet to hear from them. Today , July 5th, it is pouring in my area, and I have a lake in my entryway. At this point, I will be going after them fully. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING, and are just STEALING YOUR MONEY. I truly believe i was robbed by them, and I did not need a new roof. I hope I can attached the video I just took as evidence. again, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

I called this company because the came recommended. They set up an appointment with me and never showed and never called. I have not heard from them since I made the inital contact. I was not a member of Angie's List until now. I am not suprised by the reviews. The lack of consideration for my time is disgraceful. I would never trust a company who can't bother to show for an estimate and doesn't have respect for my time.

When we were talking with Century's rep Steve in preparation for our new flat roof, we spoke of our concern about ponding water. While I don?t have any roofing experience, I know that ponding is thought to risk the life of a roof. Remedies such as tapered insulation or rebuilding the subroof were discussed, but Steve also said that the 15 year warranty would apply even if the ponding remained after our new roof was applied, because we opted for the "modified bitumen upgrade". Later, when we spoke to Steve about this, he verbally stated that only an 8-year warranty would apply. Our recollection of the discussion and our documentation shows a 15-year warranty, specifically written in and initialed by him, which was offered with the modified bitumen upgrade. I feel that I was misled by Century Roofing in this way as well as the final price of the roof. The estimated cost was $2,685.00, however, the price was increased 60% (without my prior consent while I was out of town on active duty deployment) to $4,500.00. When I returned home, the work had already been done, so I paid in good faith, despite the fact that I felt this bill was unreasonably higher than the original estimate. With the first rain after the re-roof, we still saw significant ponding on our new flat roof and we are concerned that should the roof start leaking prematurely, the warranty as it is currently worded might exclude us it says: Warranty Exclusions:?damage resulting from settlement or other movement of the roof?underlying the membranes applied by Century Roofing and lack of positive drainage.? We requested a written statement from Century Roofing that they are aware of the ponding and that the 15 year warranty will still apply despite this. After repeated requests, they did not comply. We have asked for the recommended yearly inspections and on the last one (4 years after the roof was done), they recommended that we do slope the roof by adding tapered insulation for some $3,500 more. Unbelievable! I recommend my neighbors just stay away from these guys!!! RESPONSE TO 9-2011 RESPONSE: The double-speak in Century's response speaks for itself! Yes, the contract says 15-year warranty, but wait! -- I only have an 8 year warranty(??). Also, for those reading this, I only had the flat roof done (about 300 square feet). No slope roof was done. When I saw the ponding water on our new flat roof and got the 1st annual inspection by Century, I was told that the warranty would ONLY be honored if I pay another $3,500 to "install a tapered system". So, we went from a $2685 re-roof with a 15-year warranty to $4,500, to $8,000 for about 300 square feet of flat roofing. This was a bait-and-switch plain and simple. I opted to cut my losses and just plan to hire another company when the roof starts leaking again. At least I can warn others thanks to Angie's List.
