I contacted the owner Alex Alvarez by phone (voice mail) and email. No one ever answers the phone and all you can do is leave a voice mail or text them. I explained the situation how before they cleaned the roof everything looked fine and that now after cleaning I noticed I had cracked tiles. I asked him to contact me about fixing the tiles. He replied by email that they would stop by on Monday or Tuesday to see them.
I contacted Alex Monday morning and asked when he was coming because I was going to be out Monday morning and I wanted to be here when he came. He said he would come Tuesday morning before 11 am since I was out after that. Tuesday morning 11 am came and no one showed up or called. I texted Alex and again left a voice mail on the phone number no one answers. He called me back and said it was raining so his guy couldn't do anything. I said that may be but I would appreciate someone contacting me to tell me that so I didn't wait all morning for someone to show up.
I explained to him that before the cleaning there were no cracked tiles showing and that after the cleaning there were. I also noted that if there were cracked tiles before cleaning wouldn't his guy have mentioned that so he wouldn't be blamed for them. He said his guy swore that he didn't break any tiles. He then asked how many were there, 10 or so? I said I didn't know exactly since I hadn't actually been up on the roof but from what I could see on the ladder that was probably a close number.
I said what am I supposed to do about the cracked tiles since it could lead to water leaks. He said in the interests of settling this he would buy a tube of matching color tile caulking and have his guy caulk them back together. I said fine. Can you be here on Thursday morning. He said both he and his guy would come.
Thursday morning I waited until 12:30 pm and then texted him that I was expecting him this morning and when was he coming as I had business to take care of. He responded back to take care of my business and text him an hour before I got back. I texted I would be back at 3 pm. At 4 pm the guy who did the job, Frank, showed up alone.
Frank said he didn't break any tiles and that they just naturally crack. I explained I did not see them before the cleaning and they are there now. He refused to do anything and said he knew nothing about Alex promising to caulk/glue the tiles back together which I'm guessing would have been a relatively quick job for Frank.
Frank argued with me so I called Alex's phone again and texted him to please call. All Alex did was text me back saying they would fix any tiles they broke and Frank swore he didn't break any. I reminded him of his promise to caulk the tiles plus the fact that he said he would come and didn't. I said "That is not good business".
He replied "Free service ain't good business for me." Well his attitude is going to cost him my business and I definitely would not recommend Bright Look Services to anyone else.
