Our experience with this cabinet maker was a nightmare. He made doors that didn?t look like the sample door we were shown so we posted pictures on a website and were sick to read the comments. The picture with the corner is what I was supposed to get and the one with the curve is what he made. http://www.forums.woodnet.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=4631619&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o The door style we chose was "modified shaker" which should be square but Monty put the doors together with biscuits and with curves on the inside rails instead of corners. We took one of these doors to several cabinet makers in our area and they agreed they weren't made the way they should have been and thought he didn't have the proper tools. We later found out that it was true that Monty didn't have the proper machine to make the sample door we were shown so he made them this way. We told Monty we weren't happy with these doors and he became furious and screamed and cursed at us and said there was nothing wrong with these doors. He finally did buy the machine he should have had in the first place and said he would remake the doors one at a time over a year. We said we wouldn't wait that long so he said he would have his lawyer call us. He made the doors wrong and yet he is going to have his lawyer call us?! Then we had to get our lawyer involved and began preparing a court case. Monty finally did remake the doors to look like the sample we were shown (6 months after we gave him the first deposit check) but it took legal threats, being cussed at, yelled at, hung up on, phone calls not returned and waiting months instead of weeks. In my opinion this man was a nightmare to deal with and has an EXPLOSIVE TEMPER which he has no control of. I would never recommend this man who ?cuts corners? and treats his customers this way.
