I was told by the Real Estate Agent I was working with that I had to do all and pay for all inspections at the same time. I am a first time buyer and trusted the agent too much! I paid for all inspections. The house did not pass the septic inspection. A few months later, after withdrawling my offer, I found out that I should have never paid for the survey unless it the previous inspections passed. On October 18th I contacted the Real Estat Broker and explained to her that I felt cheated by her employee. She stated I "would have paid for the survey at closing anyway" I explained to her we NEVER made it to closing, therefore I am out $287.00! She said her company is very reputable and prides itself on satisfied customers and offered to reimburse me half of what I paid. I thought $143.50 is better than nothing! She asked if the agent has my correct mailing address, said she would put the check in the mail. By December 5th I had not received my check. I called her, she said it was buried under paper work on her desk and she would get it mailed. I stated "so I should be receiving it within 7-10 business days"? she said "sooner than that". By December 17th still no check. So once again I call her and told her "if she had no intention of paying, she should have never offered"!, she said "I thought you were going to pick it up"! I had to refresh her memory of our last 2 conversations. I told her I would pick it up thinking I would get it faster. She said they are busy right now, make sure I call before coming so someone will be there. It is now December 21st, I call her office at 12:30 p.m. The receptionist said someone will be there at 3:00 p.m. so my husband can pick the check up. My husband is there at 3:00 p.m., the office was CLOSED! Not a car in the parking lot or a soul in sight! Since I have her on speed dial by now, I call again. Of couse I get her voice mail! I left her a message telling her what happened today and my opinion of how she is making the company's reputation look and hers as a Real Estate Broker. I asked her to please mail the check and gave her the mailing address. I told her if she has any questions or concerns to please call me. It's the end of the day and I have heard absolutely nothing! I will NEVER recommend this company, broker or any agents associated with them!
