A large corner desk (original value $1500) came in truck in multiple broken pieces...completely ruined. Notified company at that time by phone, as well as the delivery personel. The delivery personnel said they put it on the truck in pieces, so happened with the people that picked it up...and we weren't notified then!! Also, a number of things somehow never made it, including a good knife set, and none of my recipe boxes made it either!!
I submitted the claim (for only the corner desk...I still had faith I'd find the other stuff somewhere) in early November, 2013 for $500. I'd already notified them of this claim on the phone, so they knew it was coming. I called and e-mailed several times to get status, but heard nothing back from them at all. Finally, in a short one-page response dated 1/27/14, this is what it said..."We received your statement of claim on 11/7/13, upon review of your paperwork we cannot accept liability for the following reason: No note of exceptions on Bill of Lading upon delivery.. Thank you for your patience while we reviewed your paperwork. Regards, Keepit Safe".
So, even though I notified them the day of the delivery, absolutely nothing was said by the office nor the delivery personnel in terms of noting it on the BOL. Keepit Safe is part of Atlas Van Lines, which is why I picked that service versus a lesser expensive service. I assumed I wouldn't be treated this way.
I would not use this company again and would not recommend them for anything.
Moving crew is great, professional and hard working.
We had more small items break, furniture lightly scratched during this move that we ever had in the past (this is our 6th home in the last 10 years).
