I would like to first summarize my experience with Joe’s Carpet starting with the installation of my vinyl kitchen floor in April. The first order mistakenly did not include the grouted look and Joe’s Carpet immediately made the correction and installed the correct floor. I believe anyone can make mistakes and as long as it is fixed all is okay. Therefore, when my home was flooded last August, I contacted you for whole house carpet and kitchen tile. I was somewhat taken aback when two different contractors indicated that the old floor should have been removed prior to the installation of the new one. But I still had faith. Fast forward to the delivery and possible installation of the new carpet. The installer felt very strongly that I should have been advised to select 15 foot carpet versus the 12. I quote “In all good conscious, I can’t install this carpet.” and he left. I was then informed that it would cost over $860 to return carpet that I would not have bought if I had properly advised to begin with. In the time I had left, I was unable to select a comparable carpet and after talking to you chose once again to have the original carpet installed by what you assured me would be your very best installer. Just lucky, I guess, that your very best was available the next day. At this point I had already had to cancel my family Christmas dinner and gathering but rescheduled it for my brother’s birthday January 7th. As you know, there was not enough carpet to finish the job and once again everything was delayed. Then the tile arrives and once again there was not enough tile to complete the job. The installer said that you would contact me with the estimated date of service, but that never happened. Of course, once again, I had to cancel the family gathering. I only mention this to show there are consequences to customers that exceed inconvenience. I am writing this as the final tile is being installed, but the carpet installer will have to come back to fix the edge to the tile. In all this time, I have not received an apology. Nor has the store made any effort to keep me informed of the estimated time of delivery. Therefore, I expect that I should pay significantly less than someone who received good customer service, I expect a reduction of 25% and an extension on the guarantee of workmanship beyond two years. Please contact me so we may discuss this. I am sure you are interested in maintaining Joe’s Carpet’s reputation in this community. I did not receive a response to this email. When I called three days later I was yelled at for ten minutes, called a complainer, petty and not an honorable person because I did not pay my bill. I have never been so disrespected in my life. The period of time of the second purchase and installation was mid December till January 16, 2017.
