and they charge me $175 more to put it in another way.
It kept leaking water. They been here 4 times to fix the leak.
I wish I could have them take it back and use a different company.
I would not recommend them for any service or instillation.
They also were the highest bidder.
The Citrus Chronicle paper awarded them the best of the best that's a bunch of garbage. I believe I should have got Daniel's
to do the instillation. I had them do repairs on my old unit they do good work at a fair price. The reason I didn't use themI did not like their lennox brand.
The company I had come out instead cleaned the unit first thing and it resolved the issue immediately. I can't believe that it took this long and Bay Area still failed to find the right solution. Bay Area wanted to charge me $400 to clean the unit and another $300 for an infrared sensor that would keep the unit operating properly.
Then he found where the leak was and showed it to us. He offered us 3 different levels of resolution, along with cost estimates for each, and estimated lifetime for each fix. We opted to install a whole new system. He scheduled it right then, and told us what day he'd be returning. It was going to be a couple of weeks out, as they had to pull permits and get the unit in place. The tech told us to call them back if we had any problems in the meantime....and we did. Again, the freon leaked out, and we called for assistance. They sent a technician out right away and he refilled the freon so we could get some relief.
Right on time, on the scheduled delivery day, our original technician showed up with his permit already emplaced on an in-ground sign, removed the old unit & installed the new unit. I'm pretty sure there was some duct-work done too. He also installed a new thermostat, that came with the new a/c unit. He explained how to operate the thermostat, how to schedule the county inspector, and cleaned up all traces of the installation mess. This must have been on the hottest day we'd had so far.
Everything was done well, and according to code (per the inspector), and quickly. And when we were hit by lightning just 2 weeks later, they immediately sent a serviceman out to repair the damage. He was very apologetic about having to charge us for the repair, but lightning was not covered under the warranty. He had the necessary parts on the truck, and the unit was repaired within 2 hours.
Dealing with this company was easy and pleasant. The technicians are personable, polite, well-trained and appear to be very knowledgeable about their service. I will return to Bay Area AC for any necessary service in the future.
After 6 months ac stopped working, they asked technician will be $80 to come, I said I have warranty so they teach me how to fix it instead of wasting their time. and I fixed myself by flushing the system, right now system have to be flushed every 6 months. 2 years past and I thermostat malfunction per internet other people complains I called them to replace it with new one (per 10 years warranty on parts) they refused to replace the part free of charge claiming part is free but their techician cost $50 + dispatch fee $15 for first 15 minutes of work, where replacing the thermostat is easy like 1-2-3, seconds. I told them I will drive to them for replacement they said they do not replace and quot; over the counterand quot; ! that means their warranty is bogus. They switched me to some kind of boss which refused either and instructed me to call carrier because they provide this warranty. As I did. BUT due to florida contractor rules: contractor/installed warranty the parts and they should work with that with carrier since I did not even knew what company I was buying. This is misleading company with cheap products and their warranty is big lie. I reported them to Tampa City for non compliance, who gave them a license ?
Nobody leave a feedbacks and I feel like only defrauded person here, Be careful and think twice before doing business with them.
Thermostat cost me $400
WATCH OUT THEY DO NOT STAY BEHIND THEIR SERVICE AND PRODUCTS, THEIR WARRANTY IS FAKE BOGUS. ALSO CHECKED THEIR LICENSE DO NOT ALLOW THEM PROVIDE SERVICE IN TAMPA-REPORTED TO CITY. ALSO CHECK BBB THERE IS 4 MORE CLAIMS AGAINST THEM AND 1 PENDING IN CONTRACTOR BOARD.
My unit was not working and the coils were frozen. From the moment I made my first phone call to having the unit working again, the service provided was excellent.
