They missed two scheduled appointments. First time, they contacted the day after to say they got tied up. Second time, didn't show and have heard nothing from them. Not worth my time to keep trying to reschedule and waiting for them not to show.

Everything went very well.  The installer arrived on time and completed the installation in about an hour.  The new garage door opener is much quieter and more safe with the rolling code technology.

They came to inspect the garage within hours of me calling and had it fully operational the next morning.

It went extremely well.  The Service man showed up when he said he would.  He was extremely courteous, professional, and knowledgeable.  We live in a brand new home just built in 2014 and the garage door had been not going up from time to time.  our one year homeowner warranty had expired (of course) and the cable on the left side of the garage door had come off and was unattached.  The serviceman his name was Elijah was very prompt in getting to our home, and did exactly what he said he would do over the phone.  He even did a little extra once he got here and didn't charge us for it.  Initially we had only asked him to place the cable back on the drum which he did.   But he said that the door was traveling too far up causing the cable to lose tension so he also adjusted the door travel.  I will definitely call and use this service again in the future if needed and would without any hesitation recommend Hometown Garage.  I am extremely picky and I was satisfied.

After the recent storms my garage door quit working. I checked Angie's list and found good reviews for Hometown Garage Doors. Elijah was punctual and professional. Although I could have saved money by buying the part online, having the garage door fixed in a timely manner and done right made my day.

This review is written 5 months after the fact. First, I did my due diligence on Angie's List, Then, I called Hometown Garage Doors, they said they would send someone out. Within an hour, Elijah showed up, looked at my nonfunctional garage door, got out a hammer, freed the opener from the track, reset the control mechanism and everything was good to go. It has worked well since that time. Elijah was extremely pleasant, professional, and, obviously, knowledgable.
Would certainly call Hometown first.

He had a replacement in stock and all the proper tools to do the job. He obviously knew what he was doing and completed the job in less than an hour.

I had minor difficulty with the door opener on one of the doors, but a representative came out and fixed it.

Elijah called first to confirm the appointment and arrived on time. He inspected my springs and advised that, in his opinion, the springs had already been replaced once in the past 15 years and did not need to be replaced at this time. He made the cable repairs, balanced the door, and ensured that the springs were the correct type for my door. He also took additional time (on Christmas Eve day) to give me tips on door maintenance and saved me $125 by not having to replace the springs. Elijah has been with the company for 7 years so I trusted the information he gave me. Seemed like he had my best interest at heart. I would definitely do business with this company again.

I called Hometown early in the a.m. and talked to a very nice lady. She said she would contact the nearest service rep and that he would get in touch with me as soon as he could. 15 minutes later, the service rep called and stated that he could stop by in 5 or 10 minutes to take a look at the situation. The gentleman arrived shortly after he called and measured the door's springs for replacement. He was very cordial and professional. After a few minutes of measuring, he explained that the new springs needed to be cut at the warehouse and that someone could return the next day early in the a.m. to install the springs. It would only take about 30-35 minutes to do the installation. That it was a fairly easy process.
The next morning I received a call that the repair man was on his way to my house and that he would arrive in approximately 10 - 15 minutes. He was true to his word and the springs replacement process took the short amount of time as was stated by the service rep. After completing the work, the serviceman provided me detailed information on how to properly maintain the working parts of the door to ensure it's longevity and efficiency. Very helpful information.
I never expected that the whole process ... from my first call, to job completion ... would be so quick and so efficient. It was truly what a client looks for in hiring a company or person to do a job for them ... expediency, efficiency, and professionalism. I am very pleased. I will not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone.

All went well and gentlemen went the extra steps of balancing and greasing door and gave some suggestions for future upkeep. Door worked fine and then it started acting up again a few weeks later. Different problem so I called them back. Instead of running right back out and charging me for service if it wasn't related to the old problem, he started asking me some questions. We determined it might be the safety sensors. I had the choice then to do it myself or have them do it. Sensors rarely fail but once the problem was isolated I was able to do it myself and save some money.
