"You failed to mention the following:Additional Projects added which were not on contract and have been completed. You also failed to mention that after I completed a large portion of project you told me " I am done with this,Just leave" so I did as you requested it was then you filed to get your money back apparently to get free labor n materials. Then after mediation I requested an extension on time , YOU AGREED, then told court I failed to comply. You also failed to mention you did not show up f or court and also How you had OTHERS , Work on this same project and you had them leave before they completed. This is clearly a case of someone wanting free labor as in the 8 years in NWFLA This has NEVER happened to me and the majority of my customers have me and Only me complete All their Home Remodeling n Projects after they see my workmanship."

"My wife was diagnosed with Stomach Cancer Lymphoma H-Pylori and was hospitalized 3 times in 2 months I explained to customer family first, We had a family relative from Georgia to come take care of her at home now while I am working to catch up on my jobs and estimates My apologies."
"Thanks for the Great Review and Rating !!"
Dan was very willing to take care of our needs. He drew a plan of what we wanted and gave us a quote on that plan. We have a smaller area in our backyard for it to be placed so it had to meet certain specifications.
Dan went beyond the "call of duty" to put composite wood on the steps and platform which will allow it to be splinter-free. The framework is built solidly to withstand strong winds (which included 60 mi. per hr. winds in a recent storm). He also customized the great roof over the platform to last through the years. We were so pleased with the results and highly recommend anyone interested in a custom wood swing set to contact Dan Rucker. Our granddaughter was so excited to see it on her birthday and enjoys playing on it daily!!
"THANKS FOR the wonderful Review n Rating !!"
I had to have my septic tank drain field replaced, which left about 2/3rds of my back yard nothing but dirt. Our 6 dogs would go outside and play in the dirt and then bring the dirt back into our home. We had dirt all throughout our house, even on our beds. My wife and I decided to put up a temporary wire fence to keep our dogs out of the dirt. We went to Lowes and purchased the wire fencing and the metal post, but being 70 years old, I am not physical able to do the work on my own. I called Danz to provide the labor to install the fence for us. He came out the very same day and installed it. He is very a very pleasant and professional man, the job turned out GREAT, and his price was much less than I had anticipated. We had used Danz Remodeling in the past to hang 2 doors for us, and he did a beautiful job on that too. You can be assured that I will use him again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DANZ REMODELING AND HANDYMAN SERVICES TO EVERYONE!!!
"This customer's ranting is amazingly false information to pass onto members. The cost of his job was not $500.00 nor were the dates and or services even correct. To be quite honest I am unsure as to what if anything was even done for this individual as last conversation I had he stated he made a decision to hire someone else for his work, so I an thinking he got me confused with another company."

spent hanging them and included work that I specifically asked him not
to.
From the beginning:
Over the phone, the original deal was that he would charge me $35/hour
for service (with military discount) to hang Christmas lights on my
small but tall house (2 story). I asked if he could come and see exactly
how much it would be (or how long it would take since his rate was an
hourly one) to hang up lights on all front ledges of my house and then
follow up for a work date which I had planned on
buying more Christmas lights by then as I knew I might be a few short.
As it turns out he arrived for what I thought was just going to be an estimate
and turned out to be the same day service which I agreed reluctantly since
I had not purchased extra lights to hang and he assured me that I could leave to
buy more while he was hanging the lights that I had (at least 5-7 new
boxes). He told me that the work would take 1.5 - 2 hours but not
longer.
The first thing that bothered me was when he then
proceeded to go through each string of my old none working lights and
replacing the individual bulbs rather than hanging the new lights still
in boxes ready for him to hang and so I can also get to the store to buy more
lights. He advised me that he knew how to fix none working lights and that I
may not need to buy more but then he took out the instruction sheet that came
in the box and began to read. Since he was on an hourly rate, I insisted that
he get started with the new lights while I went to the store to buy more.
As I was leaving my house, he asked me about some old red lights hanging
around my front door and I told him I didn't want them there anymore and
not to bother with them. I was willing and able to take them down
myself. He seemed okay with it.
When I came back from the store, I was at first relieved to see that
he still had 1-2 more boxes to hang since my concern was that I took
too long getting more lights and he was having to wait for me but then
I saw that he had done just the opposite of what I had just told him
before I left, he rehung the old red lights around my front door and
because not all the bulbs were working, he had taken the time to switch
the bulbs around so that the none working bulbs wouldn't be seen from the
street and all the working ones would... and then charged me for it!
Again, this is work that I did not want.
Now I'm trying to see the alternative here. If he had hung up the Christmas lights I gave him and not the old red lights that I didn't want, he probably would have ended up waiting for me to return in which case I would legitimately owed him the money however I assumed he would've been a little more accommodating since I didn't plan on him doing the work the same day to begin with. But he still charged me more than if he had done it right the first time and with ALL the lights needed to get my desired look when I have a partially lit house with old red lights that I don't want.
Conclusion:
It turned out that the 'extra' boxes of lights that I
bought were not enough to cover all the front ledges as I wanted and as
was intended in our deal. When he finally finished hanging the remaining
lights, he came in to tell me that the work took much longer than he
thought it would and I now owe him $105 to include that extra hour of
service. I was a bit confused since he said it would cost $75 total for
2 hours (or less) to do the whole front of the house and here I was
being charged $105 for a house half lit! I expressed my concern with him
and he only reminded me of the tedious work he did on rearranging the red
bulbs on the strand of lights around my front door (which again, I did
not want) and then said because I left and I didn't answer a phone call
of his (he had a question) which I missed while I was out.
The answer to his question was in no way a hindrance to the work he should
have gotten done by the time I came back. It was more of a suggested
number of extra lights to buy but somehow that wasted his time and legitimized my hiked rate. To make feel better, he offered to hang up 3 more strings of lights (to complete the job) for only $35 more.
Recommendation:
If your going to hire this guy for work (I wouldn't) then I would suggest keeping a close eye on the clock while he's working, he tends to be a very slow worker which of itself is not a bad thing necessarily but keep that in mind since I don't think this guy has a realistic view of how long a project is going to take him. Also, beware of hidden 'fees' or projects that he may elect himself to do and charge you for.
"In response to Members post : I arrived at her residence on the morning of Nov. 24th ( not Dec.1st) and looked at the project to find that she had 7 sets of old partially working lite sets and 5 new sets . I looked at the old ones that SHE was trying to figure out good from bad , I looked at the bulb changing instructions to determine bulb changing procedure for bad bulbs , I DID NOT state that " I knew how to fix none working lights and that I may not need to buy more " I merely attempted to see if I could make the LED lights work . When I was unable to make more lite up I told her that I would need more than 5 sets if she wanted the gables done ( there was NO CONFIRMED RESPONSE at that time ,) and proceeded to put the new sets up . When she left I got up on the upper level and measured it out and called her then texted her to inform that I needed 6 more sets if she wanted the gables done ! No response , until she returned with 3 sets , at that time informing her that was most likely not enough for both gables , but she said to see how much it would do . I then took 2 of the partially lit sets to finish out the lower section of 5'- 6' . Since I only had 1 new box left from doing the rest of lower section , I installed it and the 3 additional sets on the first gable and roof line . Thus informing her that she needed 3 more sets to do the top gable ( I had told her previously that I needed 6 more sets in a text ) , upon completing installing as many sets as she had purchased , I informed her of the completion thus far and showers her the final result and explained that with 3 more sets I would come back and install for an additional $35.00 . As for the "red lights " in the porch area , I did not charge her for this portion as she had said that some may not work and I arranged them and made work to add to the effect and while I was awaiting her return ! She said that she was just going to take them down since they were up there since year before . I was at the house for over 4 1/2 hrs total and only charged her for the 3 hours that I spent hanging new light sets , climbing up and down the roof several times to get them up where they were installed .no charges for "red lights" or waiting time as she was the one that asked when I could do the job and didn't seem " reluctant" for me to do the work that day . I never said that I had " wasted my time " , waiting on her did not cause the extra hour of charges , the time to install lights on the upper roof line and gable " legitimized " the total of $105.00 charges !! In conclusion : if someone is calling for an estimate to do a project and asks when it can be done , and an answer of " today " is given , please ask how many lights sets are needed to get the effect you are looking for and make sure you have ALL THE REQUIRED NUMBER OF SETS NEEDED to do the job before approving and having the work began !! Thanks , Dan Rucker"
