Tile: Ceramic and Porcelain - Install
$6,300
This contractor is a scam. Walter Francisco Baltodano (Rapid Remodeling) took a deposit of $5,500 from me and did not do the work. I found out after that he has a police record - and the company Rapid Remodeling is not even a registered, much less a licensed company. Walter also has a police record which Angi could easily have seen in the public records. i will never use Angi again, as they said they are not responsible for the contractor. if that is the case, why did they have him on their website? His company was removed from their sister company Home Advisor months ago - so why was he still on the Angi site?

Tile: Ceramic and Porcelain - Install
I reached out to Angi's list for a contractor to re-tile the first floor of my house in Coconut Creek. Walter Francisco of Rapid Remodeling reached out to me and came to my house to do an inspection of my house. He provided me with a quote of $6,300 to retile my downstairs fIoor and patio ($1,200 sq ft) and we agreed on this quote. He gave me a written quote. He asked me to make a deposit for all the material and half of the labour and I wrote him two checks - one for $3,950, and the other for $1,175. I have the receipt for the payment. He agreed that the work would start on November 20, and he would work every day after, except for Thanksgiving Day (Nov 21) and the job would be finished in 7 days. He ripped off the baseboards in the living room on November 20, and spread an adhesive substance on the floor in that room. He also moved all the furniture out of that room to another room. He has not been back since. He has spoken to me about 2 times since, and he also communicated by text. I have sent him numerous texts and called him over and over, but he refuses to answer me and no further work has been done. He gave me excuse after excuse, but did not come back to do any further work. When I realized that he was not coming back and he had stolen my money, I reported him to the police on December 1, 2024. I see on the Home Advisor Website that - Walter Francisco Baltodano has been removed from their contractor list because he is under investigation due to complaints. This is what is on the Home Advisor Website - which is powered by Angi - "We have received a customer complaint about this professional. Until we work through our resolution process this professional will remain unable to be matched with new customers through HomeAdvisor." At that time he had a different company name - Modern Laid Flooring - and I see from other court reports/cases about him that he changes the name of his company. I hold Angi's List responsible because Angi's List knew that he was under investigation and still had him as a contractor on their website. The Police said they could do nothing, and that I needed to take him to civil court to try and get my money back but I have no more money to spend on a lawyer and court fees. . I do not understand why Angi's List would still have him on their website as a contractor when they knew that he was stealing money from their customers. he also gave me an additional quote - via text - to add some tiles to my master bathroom. I Zelled him $450 for that job. I am now out $5,500 and would like all my money back. I am no longer interested in having this contractor work for me. I believe that Angi's List should give me my money back and if they do not, I am going to publicize this matter and report Angi's List to the better business bureau because Angi's List knew he was dishonest based on the fact that Home Advisor removed him due to complaints, and yet nothing was done about him on Angi's List. Angi's list also says they do background checks on their contractors, and had that been done, you would have easily seen where he has multiple cases of fraud and dishonesty. If you simply look his name up you will see all the matters that he has been involved in. The only reason I had faith in this contractor is because he was listed on Angi's List. I would don't have hired someone unknown to me otherwise.

Tile: Ceramic and Porcelain - Install
$1,200
We hired Rapid Remodeling to install a fairly large glass tile backsplash in our kitchen. First of all, Walter did a great job. He paid a lot of attention to the details and really took the time to do a great job. I would definitely hire them again for future projects.
