He was supplying an mirror over an sink, which was about an thirty inch square,. He admitted to me while trying to put it in the frame, he cracked it. When I got the final bill from him, I was charged for a second mirror. I didn't break your d..n mirror, you did. I have to pay you extra. I'm still trying to get square with them. The paint is chipping off the doors of the cabinets. You can see where I am coming from.

Contract was signed in march, works didn’t start until July and worked wasn’t completed until first week of December. Delay was unexpected and no accommodations were made. No professional drawings were submitted. Subcontractors were not qualified and did poor work. Larry did not stand behind his subcontractors and did not want to take responsibility. We thought we hired him as our GC and half way into the project told us subcontractors were not his responsibility. Cabinets were installed scratched and dented. New plumbing under the sink broke twice. While Larry was very responsive and easy to work with we were not happy with the quality of work and the time it took to complete.
Response from Miller Renovations Inc
"Gave customer several upgrades free of charge. Lighting, sink protector, rebuilt decorative columns in the living room. We also gave customer a $750 credit towards the floor repair. We never represented ourselves as a general contractor we gave them people we knew that did the other work they needed . We are licensed to build and install cabinetry and reconfigure walls that are not load bearing and that's the work we did. The contractor we signed never stated anything having to do with flooring or electric, they paid those contractors directly"

The new cabinets matched my existing cherry wood ones perfectly, You cannot tell old from the new. These are not the cheap quality stock cabinets with pressboard that are so often found at the large big box stores. I'd highly recommend Larry and his professional team. Excellent quality at an affordable price. Built to last.

Above and beyond our expectations. We were extremely happy that we chose Miller Renovations. All of the work that was completed was done with quality and perfection. They offered plenty of options during the design process and great ideas we would not have thought of ourselves. The installation was started and completed as the dates promised. If we ever move and need another kitchen renovated, we will not hesitate to use Miller Renovations again!

Amazing! You get the feeling you're in a Magazine every time you are in it or just looking at it from the family room. Larry told me it was the most material he had ever ordered for a kitchen. The City of Sunrise inspector indicated it was one of the best jobs he had seen in Sunrise. I'd be happy to share pics. Wife is happy (and boy is she picky), so well done Larry!!

It went perfectly!  I could not be happier.  My kitchen looks gorgeous and it's just what I wanted. The tile work is perfect.  The doors and drawers line up perfectly. I love the undercounter lights.  Larry talked me into it, said I'd love them and he was right.
The countertop company that Larry sent me to did a great job at a very reasonable price. Everything was clean at the end of the each day
The best thing about Miller Renovations was that both Larry and his helper are truly nice guys and I was comfortable having them in my home.  After the kitchen was done I called Larry for a few additional odds and ends and he was responsive and stopped by to do them.
I would strongly recommend Miller Renovations.

This project involved removing all our existing cabinets (which were over 25 years old, made of MDF, and were swelling), counter tops, and back splash. Larry had a number of unique ideas and thoughts that were incorporated into the kitchen design. He was extremely responsive and professional in all our dealings whether I contacted him by phone, e-mail, or text message. In fact, he felt like part of the family during the construction work! Of course, during any large job problems come up that need to be addressed and resolved. Larry took care of all problems, went through our entire "punch list", and left the job with no un-finished items. Now, this is a very small business consisting of Larry and his assistant. So, occasionally he would get called away to finish other jobs, or, other things would come up that would delay him. But, he always would let us know in advance if he was delayed and worked with us on finding a time that worked for us both. Overall, we are satisfied with the job and everyone that comes over is impressed by our new kitchen and the workmanship provided by Larry!

It was a pleasure to work with Larry Miller. He did work for our neighbor and came highly recommended.  Larry is professional and trustworthy.  We would definitely have him do work for us in the future.  In fact, we talked to him about renovating our bathroom and building us a custom piece for our dining room.  We would not hesitate to recommend Miller Renovations to our family and friends.

Larry Miller renovated the whole kitchen. He had to make a number of changes during the process, but that was strictly due to owner changing his mind.  Larry took it all in stride and addressed every item that was changed with great professionalism. His work was/is beautiful and he was responsive to questions, advised along the way as to what was being done, how long it would take and what was involved. Phone calls were either answered or returned in a timely fashion. I would absolutely recommend Larry and I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

"[Member Name Removed] thank you for the kind review, I think the reasons for the changes and updates to the original plan was because the project was so unique. it kind of took on its own personality as we moved along, but once we were finished it stands as one of my favorites. Hi Customer Service

We just sent an e-mail from your e-mail request for did we use Miller renovations. The e-mail did not go through.

This is what we sent in the e-mail

Hi Customer Service

Mr Miller's installation is not completed to our satisfaction. Basic

Skills such as, Installations  being Plumb, Square, or Level are incorrectly  installed because of his deviations from the original plans. This is an open and

on going situation with Mr Miller who has full knowledge of all  our remodel

issues and he has agreed to carefully correct each issue by replacing

damaged, used or incorrectly installed materials. However, it is

difficult to rate someone who has failed to deliver any materials to

complete the remodel and repair damage that has occurred during prior

Calendar year. He was to have made a delivery in 3/15 but failed to do so. Since then, a few e-mails

have been exchanged but no date set for any work to proceed. At this time we are proceeding

with additional tasks that need to be completed as fast as humanly possible for 70 year old

working Home owners. We are expecting action to be taken by Mr Miller to complete our Kitchen re-model.

Thanks

"Members We contracted with this customer in 2012, and immediately were faced with constant delays because of contractors being fired or walking off the job. We had this kitchen in storage for over a year, and in 2014 finally we were able to start the install. We had very little time to work in this house (one to two days a week) because Mr.Vandivort insisted on being there when we worked in order to supervise, and assist in the project. We worked our schedule around his for 6 months plus, in some cases returning to work and finding completed work from the week before taken down and disgarded, because he decided it wasn't up to his expectations even though he was there watching the work being done. Finally, returning one day to complete the kitchen, I walked into a situation that I had to remove myself from, because Mr. [Member Name Removed] started a verbal abuse tyrant and paced around the kitchen yelling, and belittling my work. Several other contractors experienced the same behavior, and warned us. We spent over two years tring to meet this mans expectations, and when I became concerned for my safety I left and did not intend to go back. I left over $4000.00 was on the job, and other than a piece of molding the job was complete."

It is a continuing nightmare. The work was done intermittently and never completed. Strips of veneer were left in the "kitchen," which is still unusable after three months. Electrical outlets were never finished and remain open, a definite hazard in a kitchen area. Measurements are way off despite the fact that it was supposed to be an exact replacement. Drawers are measured incorrectly and the inside dividers and trays don't fit so flatware and kitchen utensils have no place to go. The ceiling was painted before the cabinets were installed and because the measurement was incorrect, there is an ugly one-inch border around the work where the old color remains.

His worker installed new tile floor. We recently had a spill from the frig and I noticed it was extremely hard to clean the grout which came up dusty. So I asked if the grout had been sealed and when his worker comes (which was supposed to be today), that he bring grout cleaner and sealer (I learned about sealer by looking up cleaning methods on the internet and have a feeling my grout job was never sealed). He never responded at all to this request.

Mr. Miller's demeanor is unprofessional and argumentative to the point of bullying. In my experience, you can never take what he says as truth. Calls are not returned as promised. Work dates are fictional. Actual work is sloppy and slapdash. In attaching a handle to one of the few doors he completed, he cracked the door and left it that way. Fitting the cabinets were done with a veneer-type tape and looks terrible. Parts are already starting to peel and laminate sides show ugly gaps.

Was supposed to supply a replacement for the medicine cabinet he removed in the bathroom. There is now a gaping hole replacing the mirrored front, so we can't shave, or apply makeup. This is now two months ongoing.

In my opinion, the best way to deal with this individual is to accept everything he says without comment or argument. When confronted with difference of opinion, his tactic is to belly up and raise his voice. HIs response to all requests before signing him up is "no problem." Yet, whenever there is a problem, he defends his choices adamantly or tells us to put it on a "list" to fix when the work is completed. The work, obviously, is far from complete and not even because he is "waiting for a reordered bathroom mirror," as the wrong size was ordered originally or for his ordered backsplash that could have been ordered months ago. He's had my table to re-veneer for over a month in his shop and the granite top and bottom insert awaits in my house. My list is growing ridiculously long and I've asked him to come and finish or fix many items that do not await outside sources.

He semi-installed the new dishwasher but it's not level and told me to try it out. I read the instruction book which specifically says not to use if not level, as it may leak. As my entire kitchen and surrounding areas flooded as the result of a malfunctioning dishwasher, I will not use it till he levels, then "checks water level inside" as instructed and so await his arrival for that as well.

Also, he demands payment up front which eliminates your leverage in a disagreement.

UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO COMPANY'S RESPONSE Jan. 26, 2016

I feel compelled to answer Mr. Miller's response which is
filled with lies, half-truths and prevarications throughout. I invite anyone to
my house (or look at the photographs and those at our insurance adjuster's) at
any time. Note: we are in the process of engaging another contractor to attempt
to repair the massive mess Mr. Miller left behind. We'd been told by other
professionals in the industry that our kitchen in its present condition
wouldn't last a year!

Mr. Miller's ad hominine tirade is the ranting of a trapped
man. He mentioned we were living in a first-class hotel (actually, it's a tired
3-star establishment) as if we chose this vagabond lifestyle. The insurance
company chooses where it puts its customers. I am 75, a victim of Parkinson's
disease and spinal arthritis and stenosis. It is extremely difficult for me to
walk and get around in an unfamiliar domicile, especially using a wheelchair. We
stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn in Weston, far from our home in Fort
Lauderdale, with frequent trips back and forth being both cumbersome and
painful. How the hotel's rating has any relevance to Mr. Miller's
unprofessional work and performance is beyond me, but a visit to the hotel will
instantly reveal that it is on a "luxury" level of a Motel 6. Clean
and utilitarian. No more. His statement that we did not pay other workmen is a
flat-out lie and we have DATED RECEIPTS TO PROVE IT.

As far as delaying the granite countertop, we asked for a
repair or replacement to match the rest (a small bar and table top) as soon as
it was removed by the mold remediation team. (We did wait to hear about extra
funding from the insurance company, but it had nothing to do with his job.) He proceeded
on his own schedule.

For all the reasons I mentioned in my earlier complaint, I
felt the kitchen was truly not a safe "usable" space as still to this day its non-existent backsplash
area contains dangerously open, dangling outlets, an unsecured and unleveled
(so unusable) dishwasher, tiny drawers that all stick together when one is
opened, doors that don't close properly, bump into other doors or cabinets, or
are absent altogether, and still no table (it is custom-sized and he kept the
base he was supposed to veneer and attach to our granite top). Not to mention
all the unfilled "filler" gaps, holes and raw wood areas.

The reason we were upset with him once we did move in is
because it was then that we became truly aware of the level of his shoddy
workmanship. He did not keep his word re cabinet and drawer sizes, work times
or any required adjustments. And we still have no table, as it was never
returned.

I wish Mr. Miller had treated us with even half the
consideration expressed by some of his former clients. But rather than return
to work after a lengthy vacation and working only a few hours a week for two
weeks (where he'd said he'd be back on the 29th but saw fit to block my calls
after one request re setting up a work schedule for the new year on the 31st),
I felt he'd left us in the lurch and had no recourse but to vent my frustration
on this site, hoping to get his attention re properly completing the job per
our contract. Obviously, rather than attempt to make good, he'd prefer to make
me out as the "bad guy."

As an aside, and further evidence of his duplicity, our
insurance adjuster NEVER CALLED HIM. In fact, the adjuster contacted me to express surprise that Mr. Miller
had contacted him or even had his
number. He said he suggested Mr. Miller finish the job he'd started, as did I. Besides,
how could Mr. Miller be afraid of not getting paid if he'd already been paid in advance? But it appears
he'd prefer to malign this customer and move on. Leaving me with no recourse
but to attempt to get my money back and all the stress and aggravation of once
again installing a new kitchen.

Response from Miller Renovations Inc
"Members We contracted with this customer in October 2015; at the time they had moved out of the house and were living in a 4star hotel paid by insurance. The house was having mold removed, and were told that we would be able to install the kitchen in a few weeks. After delay after delay, we finally got started and explained to them that because of the delays we would have to work this job as time prevailed. They said they understood. The insurance adjuster was trying to get them back into the house and out of the all-expense paid hotel and the customer asked for me to call and tell him that the kitchen wasn't ready so they couldn't move back in. I refused to lie for them because the kitchen was 100% functional and that's when the issues started. The customer continued to delay the process by not making decisions for us to go forward. One example was, she did not decide on what to do with a cracked granite counter top that was broken in October and until that was solved we could not complete the kitchen. Finally in December I had a granite company come and fix the cracked counter top and we were able to install the cabinets and finish the job. The repair was $400 which they didn't pay for. We had heard that other contractors hadn’t been paid for their work and overheard the owners talking, stating they didn’t care. I lost my confidence that we would be paid after that. Since then I was contacted by the insurance adjuster and they wanted me to come back. I asked him if the insurance company would guarantee my final payment, they would not."

Larry was great from the beginning.  He is very honest and up front about his thoughts on what is best for your situation.  He definitely went above and beyond what we paid him for.  He replaced all the cabinets in our laundry, recommended nice pull outs for all the little things you have in a laundry room.  What a great idea and I love them.  We made our cabinets twice as big as what was there, added granite, a beautiful deep sink and new faucet.  I am thrilled with the outcome!  I will definitely be contacting him again if we decide to have more work done.
