"This was an order that was placed last year. We were set to install the job at the beginning of January. This customer said her husband was sick and if she could push the job to the end of February. That leaves my installer without a scheduled job and that means he is without income. The customer does the same thing in February. She said as soon as her husband feels better she will call me. Two months have gone by and she calls me to cancel the job for the same reason. I gave her the opportunity to delay the job again. She said no. She then applies to Angi for another estimate. Why? She actually left me a voicemail that she would have used me- Ken Gonick"
"I apologized to you on our phone conversation. We take for granted as well as require someone to be there at the end of the installation to inspect the job. That will save us a trip back to fix any problem that you may find. Not that we would not come back to repair any problems that may arise but it will help in not having to send someone off a job to do a repair. In this case we take the blame of not calling you to confirm the inspection. In this case my installer told me to put through the credit card. I again will take responsibility and make sure the jobs are done to the satisfaction of our customers before we put through the final payment."
"Sorry you feel that way. We have done thousands of jobs to date and have one of the highest ratings with Home Advisor for 13 years. You installation was over 3 years ago and had a lifetime warranty on the material and 2 years on labor."
"Hi Brett, You are absolutely correct. My workers are the best in the business and I have been so proud of them doing great installations year after year. That has been my problem. My reputation has been great because of them and I'm afraid to hire any new installers for fear of them not living up to that same standard of quality. That will have to change. My top installer has been in and out of the hospital visiting his sick wife and we are in the middle of doing very large jobs. I will send someone over to fix your job as soon as I can. I am looking to hire a few more installers that I have worked with in the past to alleviate my problem. Again, I apologize for your inconvienience."
"Thank you for your nice review. It was our suggestion that if you want a cleaner look it would be better to remove the toilet so we can install the laminate under it. If you can't then we can work around it. We are not licensed plumbers- just a flooring company. Again, thanks for your kind words. Ken"
"I'm sorry for the problem you are having. The manufacturer of the product that you purchased makes a thinner nose so that it comes flat so there is very little lip. It won't wear out and is an exact match to the laminate. When you hired us to do your job I squeezed you in the same week so you can move in. That involved moving other customers jobs to a later date to accommodate you. We completed the job on time so I don't know what that complaint is about. I told you I was looking for an older version of your stair nose that will match your color. If I find it it probably means that I will have to replace the whole staircase. There was nothing wrong with the workmanship of the staircase. It's just that you like the old stair nose better. You are also forgetting that your 2nd floor was in need of replacement and we pointed that out to you before we started. Your painter had to replace the floor. Do you think our installers are bad as to not have pointed this out?. I know when you handed me that last check you were telling me of all the problems you were having with this house before you moved in. Perhaps this has all gotten to you. We only spoke 2 days ago about me still looking for the "matching" noses. Do you want me to stop? - Ken Gonick"
