At first he always responded to texts/phone calls and promptly came over to give me an estimate.  He was a no-show for another appointment, so another appointment was made.  I texted the day before to confirm and the response I got was "I'm behind on another job and I'm not going to have time for you.  Can I offer you a $25 Home Depot gift card for the inconvenience?"  Thanks but no thanks, and it sounds like he's used that line before, which makes me think he's a lot of talk and not much action/work.  Before this I had emphasized to him that I understood this was not a big job and would not be very profitable to him, I was not in a hurry to get it done I just wanted to set up a timetable.  You take care of the little jobs and those might lead to big jobs and referrals.  Needless to say, I was very disappointed because I had shared my previous experiences with him of other contractors that crapped out on me.  And as stated, I emphasized  that I knew this was not a big money maker for him, to fit me in when he could but to set up a timetable.  I was willing to work with him and be flexible.  Very disappointing.  Would not recommend him at all.

In addition, his prices were way higher than any other estimates I had gotten.  But, having already been through 3 contractors I was willing to pay a little more if I found someone that was dependable, honest, and got the work done.  So his prices are high and he was none of those things.
