Discount Pool and Patio

In advance of the appointment, I was promptly contacted for scheduling the appointment by the friendly/courteous scheduler at Discount's office and on the day of the appointment, Joe the owner was personally and promptly at the house ready to take a look.  We had not yet moved into the home and had gone on vacation after closing on the deal.  Unfortunately, the pool was green by the time we returned and Joe had that as an obstacle for part of the inspection.  Dealing with a first time pool owner, Joe was patient however and explained some of the chemistry and importance involved in keeping it clear at all times.  Joe also thoroughly reviewed with me the state of the equipment and schooled me in doing some of the maintenance of it.  He very quickly discovered a plug which had been installed by a previous owner which prevented the skimmer from doing it's work.  He surmised that the plug was there because there was a problem with the under-deck piping which a previous owner did not want to deal with. Another area of concern by Joe was the water fall area into the pool and he explained what was going wrong with that.  Finally, he spent about 20 minutes developing the list of repairs needed along with cost estimates including a larger plan for renovation of the pool area based on my ideas expressed during the appointment.  In the end, he provided me with the estimates, marketing brochures, BBB rating and many recommendations in a very professional marketing folder.  Joe was very professional and clearly knows what he is talking about based on over 30 years of service to our area.  My $150. was well-spent on this inspection and is also credited back to me if we move forward by having his company do the repair and/or renovation.

Contractor did an execellent installation. Good job. We are pleased with the results.

Discount pool did a great job on the pool and deck. It looks great. They also installed a New Tech Industries waterfall.

We have a large backyard and we spend a great deal of time enjoying it. It was time after 11 years to 
make it new again. We were very concerned about quality and of course price. We had many companies to choose from. After reviewing a few presentations, it was Joe who made us feel the most comfortable. Everything he said his company did. Actually that's not true it came out better than I anticipated. The pavers look fantastic. They workmanship was first class. The pool looks great and the new tile was the finishing touch. I wouldn't hesitate  to use or recommend  Joe and his company.

It went great, they arrived on time, very professional, did the work faster than I thought.I was impressed from beginning to end with Joe Wise and his crew. I would highly recommend them!

This company is the best.  I had contacted 2 other companies prior to Discount Pool and one never came back with a quote and one never showed.
  When  I contacted Joe he came right out next day and we went over the whole job piece by piece.  Let me tell you this was not an easy job to tackle. We had bought this house last year and the pool and pool area had nothing done in over 12 years and was in very bad shape. The only good thing that could be said of the pool at this point was that it held water.  Joe outlined what needed to be done to get the pool and deck area to where we wanted and we signed that day.  I feel that the price quoted for this was very resonable considering what was being done.
 Shawn and Russell did the prep work to get the new coping and tile put in along with some crack repairs and new return lines, mid suction line, and new skimmer.  These guys worked very hard to get everything right and the pool tile is so level that the water line is dead centered on the new tile all the way around the pool. I can't say enough good things about these guys.  This is the heart of the pool renovation and it was perfect.
  This job required a new paver pool deck where previously there was chattahoochee and it had to be chipped off along with extending and increasing the size of the paver deck.  The crew did an amazing job.
  Finally the pool resurfacing crew came in and spent 2 days and the whole thing was done !!
 The end result is great and I can't thank all the folks over at Discount enough for a great job.
  I'm fully aware that any large company has multiple jobs going at any one time and my job may not get continuous attention during the process.  The only reason for the B rating in responsiveness is a little better communication when work is going go be happening would be nice.  We had a couple of gaps in work being performed where we called to find out when the next step was going to happen.  No big deal and this doesn't take away from the great work that Discount pool did.
  If you want a good company that gets it done then this is the one.

Joe was beyond punctual as he showed up even earlier than the scheduled start time, which was appreciated.  He was very professional and courteous throughout.  He took his time going through a meticulous inspection while explaining to me at each step what he was looking for, how the equipment was expected to perform, and answering all questions in detail.  He provided the written report later in the same day and made a follow up call a few days later to see if I had any additional questions. I would hire this company again.  Recommend.

The service was excellent as always. This provider is always on-schedule and punctual. My pool is always crystal clear blue and clean. I never have any issues and this is one thing that I never have to worry about. I wouldn't use any other company.

This is the AL should work, a job well done at a good price.  Everything went great, from getting the estimate, to arranging a start date, to the the job itself.  After the job was completed, a tech came out twice, both to inspect the work and then set the pool water to the proper chemical levels.  Would use them again in a heartbeat.  

Called one day, got a call back from the owner that afternoon. He explained what he thought he could do and what it would cost, and told me they would come to double check before starting work, but with the heat pump so that if it was the right option I would n't have to wait for another day. Turned out they could come the next day, and did so when they said they would. The installers were pleasant, guys, got right to work, and even disposed of oil buggy bushes that had go anyway for me. Pump was up and running in a few hours, and calibrated to work well. Exactly what I wanted. Owner called the next day to double check that I was happy with the work. Excellent customer service.

I got a good feeling when I spoke to Joe over the phone. He came down right away, and I appreciated his honesty about what I needed. He had great ideas that added both value to my house as well as beauty.  While I received two other bids, one of which was a little less expensive, I know I chose right in the end because the job was breathtaking -  and ahead of schedule and done right. He is the only company I know that answered phones on the weekend.
Exceptional quality, exception service -  highly recommend this company. 

I contacted several contractors before choosing Discount Pool & Patio for the project. Joe, the owner, came out and was very experienced and knowledgable. The job was done in a timely manner, and the crew was professional and courteous. I was surprised that a job this large went so smoothly. My children and I continue to enjoy our new backyard. I would highly recommend Discount Pool & Patio.

There was not any supervision or oversight of the jobs being done or between the different crews. Speed seemed their major concern.
I had to initiate communication of problems to the owner who for the most part offered platitudes.
Some of the issues: uneven and poorly cut pavers, chipped and stained coping which were made worse after they tried to repair them.
After pool was complete there two major leaks do to failing to plug bottom drain properly and not installing skimmer correctly.
I am surprised and disappointed after reading their reviews and meeting with the owner.

Joe was very good in educating us on the pool heater. He was honest and straight forward and helped us make the right decision. Overall, the service was great and the installation was clean, quick and high quality. Now we can finally enjoy our pool on those cold days without freezing ourselves. I would definitely recommend Discount Pool and Patio to anyone with a pool or spa!

The service has gone well. The resurfacing of the pool was a tremendous job. We had to wait a few weeks for them to come back out for the ladder. I understand the delay because it is their busy time of year. They have assured me they will be out today for the ladder. A crew of 8-10 came out and completed the job in about 2-3 hours. They had separate crews for different parts of the project. They also sub contracted with a pool maintenance company to make sure everything with the pool is right and the chemicals are balanced. They are very professional and efficient. They did excellent work.

The service was very good, the seller got in contact with us right away and gave us all the details upfront, service was finished before scheduled.

After using Discount Pool & Patio on a previous job this year for our pool, we were sure to call and get an estimate from the company for our driveway and walkway pavers.  The owner, Joe, came out personally to design and provide an estimate for the job.  Due to our previous positive experience with Joe and the company we decided not to pursue other estimates.  The job started in a timely manner and was completed efficiently.  The workers were fast and clean, truly artisans. 
When the job was complete Joe came out personally to inspect the finished product.  We were very happy with the job; however, Joe noticed on his own that some of the pavers had a slight variation in color.  As Joe is a true perfectionist, he insisted that those stones be replaced.
We are extremely happy with our new driveway and walkway pavers; they make a great new addition to our home.  We will use Joe again if we require a similar job and would definitely recommend him to family and friends.

Always met the time frame quoted; phoned in advance if weather was bad and could not work; very diligent in keeping me informed as to the work being done.

Demonstration was superb and did not try to oversell and kept us within our budget.

They did a really fine job!  Our Broward County home is a second residence for us, and we have dealt with renovations and contractors in several parts of the state.  This was one of our smoothest experiences ever with a contractor here in Florida. The office made it really easy to make our selection then kept us updated throughout all the steps of the process.  The crew arrived within the scheduled window (a miracle here in FL), delivered exactly what we'd pictured and even cleaned up thoroughly afterwards.

Joe the owner was great to work with. We had some delays due to weather conditions but Joe and his foreman kept us well advised. There was additional work that needed to be done, which was unforeseen and Joe worked with us on the cost to our mutual satisfaction. I have already recommended a friend to use Discount Pool and Patio and have contracted with Joe to put pavers on my driveway and walkway. All in all, it was a pleasurable experience.
