Hire Authority Garage Doors

I hardly every write reviews, but I felt I should add one in this case because of the excellent service I received from Hire Authority, Peter the owner, and James, the tech that came out. I called Hire Right today and spoke with Peter, the owner. He was very friendly over the phone and was able to schedule James to come out to my house within a few hours (same day!). James called me before my appointment to confirm he was on his way, and was at my house promptly. I told James that I wanted to replace my garage door opener as the one I had currently was the original from when the house was built back in '97, and I felt it was too noisy, would sometimes re-open after it had closed, and was not very responsive to the universal remotes I had purchased for it. I had picked up a Chamberlain garage door opener earlier from Home Depot, so I had it in hand when James arrived. He took my concerns and suggested that I also replace the rollers on each side of the garage door as the ones I had currently were metal, which caused additional noise during operation. James quickly took down my old garage door opener and installed the new one, replaced the rollers, and lubricated all the garage door hinges. The result is amazing! The door is near silent when operated besides the Chamberlain unit operation. James was able to do all this work within ~1.5 hours. He was very friendly and allowed me to watch him as he did the work. I was able to even pick up some tips on the work he did. All in all I am extremely satisfied with the quality of the work and the responsiveness of Hire Right. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone, and the price was very reasonable. lol he really did nothing, wasn't even going to spray hinges if I didn't say anything. for 39.00 I now know I have a great garage door and opener..will try and use the people who installed it next time..shall I need help

I called the company right after purchasing the service thru Angie's List and was very respectfully greeted by the vendor and immediately assigned a technician to work with me. The appointment was scheduled for the very next day and Mike, the technician, arrived on time and as promised, called me 30 minutes before he arrived. Upon arrival he inspected the garage door and confirmed it was working well and it just needed some minor adjustments and the application of lubricant. What impressed me the most was his honesty and professionalism. My experience with other vendors hasn't been that pleasant as often times, they will "find" issues with the system and will attempt to sell us what we clearly do not need. Not the case here. He even gave me some ideas regarding my AC unit as he noticed some potential mold on the outside of the main unit in the garage. Extremely happy with Hire Authority Garage Doors and I would strongly recommend this valuable vendor to my friends and family. A++++

The technician was three hours late. but the installation went fine. One of the remotes given didn't work but they replaced.

Great experience! Less than one hour after scheduling someone to stop by and determine what the problem was, a technician, James, showed up found that two coils needed to be replaced. He completed the replacements in less than an hour. I was very impressed with James and how quickly he solved the problem and installed the new coils. Don’t forget to ask if there are any coupons or discounts available.

He did not fix anything. He advised me I needed rollers, and it would cost $150.00 and the a guarantee for another 50. plus the 39. He did grease my garage door and that was it.

It was a good experience. The actual gentleman that actually did the work for me -- see I'm a retire disable war veteran -- and I think it's his daughter that went in the military, so we had a really good experience. We talked about the military and about my deployment in the Mideast when in before I retired. In the very beginning he wasn't very talkative. I wanted to stand out there and watch. I didn't want to sit in my house so I was out there and he didn't take very long to do everything. He did a great job. He was great.

The garage door sensors were not working. I called the Hire authority and they were able to send a technician ASAP. James was the technician, who came to attend the service.Also he was able to come the day after the hurricane mess. He was punctual, called me before hand and did a wonderful job. I am very happy with his professionalism and will definitely hire him again.

They did a great job. They also spotted aproblem with one of the cables and fixed it.

He was good, it was done beautifully. They could have improved because there was tar left on the floor and I had to clean it up but I didn't say anything to them about that. The young man was very nice. He did what he was suppose to do, was polite and on time.  The tar was hard to come up but it did come up. I'm sure if I had said something he would have come back and cleaned it up. He knew what he was doing it and did it then knocked on the door to let me know he was done.

It was not good. He was not nice, I do no think I will use them anymore. When they came the next day to put a piece on the bottom; edging so lawn edging would not blow in and that cost me $300. They could have been more polite and not so antagonizing for not answering my messages. If I call them and they come to the gate I am in the yard waiting, I should not have to make excuses for them. They had to come back because the door was sticking and making a horrible big pow number, so I called and talked to the tech who did it and came back with oil and said it should take care of it. He did not call to see if I was home, I called the gate. He was here a few minutes and that's it and he was not nice. He put a remote started and battery in my car and I am having problems with that and needing to keep my finger on the button until it closes all the way down but I will not call them back again, I do not want to subject myself to insults for pay.

It was nice, but they didn't follow through. I had to call them and they were very nice, I think it was the owner. I was supposed to get contacted by him, but that didn't happen but when they set it up it was really good. You can't get all kinds of great people. The guy was nice, but he talked more than he did any work. I wasn't that impressed, although he was a sweet guy, very nice. I stood there so that I got the work done. I think the owner arranged it and it was very good. I might try them again because I wanted to change garage door people so I used them as a test. I would do it carefully because you want someone who comes out and is more professional looking and they are getting better. There was nothing negative. There were no additional costs and he said everything looks good. They mixed up in the beginning but that can happen. The service person at the office was A but the actual service person was mediocre.
