Stay far away from Royalty Tree Service and owner Carlos Merced! I misjudged his character when I assumed he was a man of his word, and found out he wasn't ! I told him he got the job and scheduled it. He was not the cheapest and he was not the most expensive! I felt he was a man of his word by the way he spoke of GOD, his reviews, and pictures online of his equipment, and he was a local here in Cocoa Florida. He had contracted the Job to remove a very large Oak tree and Stump, not grind it out but remove it. The first warning I got, ( I should have told him to leave) was when he showed up with his equipment ( not looking like the pictures online) and began to tell me we should just grind everything down instead of removing it, and that it was going to be additional money because of the amount of grinding he was going to have to do and the amount of chips he was going to have to haul away!, Against my better judgement, he was already here so I said if you are going to grind everything 2.5 feet below grade then go ahead and do it. ( he didn't do that!) The second warning was when he unloaded his equipment and the grinder wasn't operating. Then the boom truck and his New Holland skid steer were leaking oil all over my new driveway due to lack of maintenance as well as him having to jump that equipment. I helped him by charging that battery in his New Holland skid steer and fixed a wiring problem to get that running. Now he could at least get the tree cut down. After getting the tree cut down, Carlos started trying to get some other contractors to grind out the stump and roots. I finally got someone scheduled to do the job completely. Then Carlos got his machine running before the other contractor could come out! So I called and canceled the other contractor! ( Big Mistake! ) Carlos came out to complete the job. As usual the grinder wouldn't start, so he left again to get a battery installed. He came back around 12 noon, worked until 2:45 and told me that this was all he was going to do, except grind out two holes for where my new plants were going to be planted. I argued back and forth and explained that wasn't what he agreed to do with the job! I knew it wasn't going to get anywhere because in his mind he did enough work and loads of debris away for the contract regardless of what he agreed to. For me it's just not worth my time to argue anymore! I told him to just finish what he wanted to do, grind out the two holes for my new plants and go. I would never use this guy or his company ever, stay clear he will not do what he agrees to do, his equipment is all broken down because he doesn't maintain it and it will leak oil and hydraulic fluid everywhere ! Stay far away from this person and company!!!!! Very bad and sad experience! Bill, Cocoa Florida

The team did a great job,from the trimming,to the clean up.

He was significantly lower than the others, but didn't offer any information on how he would get his equipment into the yard. I don't know whether I will choose him or not.
