I had used the big chain companies in the past with poor results from all of them. Pelican is a local company who came recommended by the company who installed my St. Augustine sod 4 years ago and I have been very pleased with my healthy grass since Pelican took over its care. It costs no more than to DIY, and whatever Pelican applies is much more effective. Brad and his crew are always courteous and professional. They come out quarterly for routine fertilizer, weed and insect control service, and also they do twice-yearly treatment for crabgrass. Birds and the neighbor's weeds still contribute to an occasional weed sprouting up here and there but overall my lawn stays healthy and green with just the rain and our mandatory twice-weekly watering schedule. I have been very happy with their service and my lawn looks great.
