And had the best price for the job I needed done and did an excellent job. And had the quickest start date than any other company at the time. Everything turned out great. He even went the extra mile by coming back after the job was done (FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE) to help fill in dirt on the side of my new concrete driveway and sidewalk. Does not have a set crew to do work, everyday had to pull workers together to do job which took longer than told. We paid for concrete ourselves and paid him separately (check or cash only) for labor. He was overpaid on labor (our mistake) but he did admit to the overpayment and said he would return to do some cleanup work and return overpayment. Owner contacted several times but never came back or returned overpayment. Circle driveway is OK but finishing work is not great, noticing highs and lows in concrete. Not the worst job but certainly not the best either.

THEYPOURED THE EXTENSION FOR DRIVEWAY,IT WAS NOT 4" AND THE OWNER WOULD NOT COME BACK AFTER RECEIVING THE MONEY. THEYALSO POURED THE DRIVEWAY APRON AND THE COUNTY FAILED THE APRON BECAUSE IT WAS NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE 6" REQUIRMENT, I HAD TO TEAR THE APRON UP AND PAY ANOTHER COMPANY TO HAUL IT OFF BECAUSE THE OWNER REFUSED TO HELP, WHEN LOOKING AT THE JOB,THERE WERE PLACES WERE THERE WAS STILL GRASS AND NEVER EVEN GOT DUG OUT, VERY POOR JOB,I ASKED FOR HALF THE MONEY IT COST ME TO JUST TRY AND GET SOME MONEY BACK AND THE OWNER SAID HE WOULD BUT NEVER RETURNED, REALLYWATCH THE WORK WHEN GETTING CONCRETE DONE AND MAKE SURE IT IS THE THICKNESS YOU PAY FOR, NONE OF THE JOB WAS POURED TO THE THICKNESS I PAID FOR,THE OWNER USED BAD LAUNGUAGE WHEN TRYING TO GET HIM BACK OUT TO MAKE THINGS RIGHT. I LEARNED THE HARD WAY,WATCH WHO DOES YOUR CONCRETE WORK,A CONTRACTOR IS THE WAY TO GO, AND HE MAY TELL YOU THAT HE IS A CONTRACTOR,CALL THE COUNTY OR LOOK HIM UP,I WISHED I WOULD HAVE DONE THAT,ITS WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY TO GET IT DONE RIGHT AND KNOW THE OWNER WILL BACK UP HIS WORK, THE OWNER IS NOT A REAL BUISNESS PERSON,WHEN THE OWNER USES BAD LAUNGUAGE WHEN YOU TRY TO GET HIM TO PAY FOR HIS MISTAKES,PRETTY SAD.

So many lies.  Lies in which he stood nothing to gain from - I can't understand people like this.  After I made the final payment, he stood me up 3 times and then stopped all contact.  He never finished the job and did not care that I was going to give him a bad review.  You have been warned.

His workmanship was sloppy, he drove a stake into my sprinkler lines and acted as though it wasn't his mistake.  The concrete was laid out wrong.  instead of sloping the concrete away from the existing slab, he sloped it into it, so that my pool screen doors scrape when opening.  The sidewalk was not put in to follow the land grade so now I have drainage problems when it rains heavily.  He used the wrong material to shape curves and left jagged edges.  There are low spots in every part of the concrete that form puddles when wet.  He is unreliable.  He said he would show up in the morning, he showed up after 1:00 pm.  And now he's stated he wants out of the contract and because we paid him so he could get the materials to work on the driveway, he is trying to keep all of the money and has come up with a bill that way overcharges us for the poor work he has done.  The original estimate was for $3,250.00 broken down into three payments.  He stated that if we only wanted the driveway and sidewalks at the front of the house resurfaced, it would be  $1,700.00. That leaves $1,550.00 for the concrete work.  So far we have paid him $2,166.00 and he has left me with problems, and won't answer the phone, or return any messages.  He was e-mailing, but he even stopped doing that. PLEASE heed this warning.  This man is not a professional, he shouldn't be doing this kind of work and he will take your money and run.  Out of the money he took he offered to give back $125.00, and after I sent him back an e-mail outlining all of the work that I had to do because he left things undone and damaged, (sprinklers, concrete too high at doorways at pool screen),but he won't return any correspondence now.  This man should never be trusted.  Take your business elsewhere.  If you have given a check, stop payment!  For us James Gabbard has proven to be a dishonest man.
