Auto Body Work
This is the second vehicle I've taken to Bob Steele Chevrolet Auto Body for damage repair. They are very pleasant and professional and do high quality work. The first time I was referred by Allstate and since they did such a good job with no issues, I selected them again recently when my new car required damage repair. They are approved by Allstate to do the vehicle inspection so no appointment with an Allstate adjuster was required. I had priced them independently as if I was not going to use insurance to pay for the repair and they were comparable in price to another recommended body shop. They completed the repair in a timely manner, checked in several times to update me and when complete no one would ever know there had been damage. They have an agreement with the local Enterprise Rent-A-Car office so I was able to leave my rental with them for Enterprise to pick up instead of having to return the rental to the Enterprise office. This was the easiest possible transaction under the circumstances. I would use them again and I recommend them highly.

They tried to leave me overnight without a car. I took my car in for the recalls and I kept waiting and kept waiting and kept waiting and they never called me to tell me they were going to come pick me up to get me to my car. So, I finally called them and they turned around and said let us come and pick you up in the morning. I can't be picked up in the morning, I have to go to the grocery store. My general physician has got me on this kick now she's trying to cut my medicine in half. She wants me to take my blood pressure and I have to go get my blood pressure taken 3 hours after I take my pill. I'm supposed to get my blood pressure checked and I have to go to the grocery store. It's too far to walk. It's like 2 miles to the grocery store. They're saying, we want to strand you and then I get a lot of push back and talk back about them having to have their driver go into overtime. He says, well, you got here too late. I got here 5 minutes late because there was a wreck. They told me to come in at 1:00 and I got there at 1:05. There was a wreck on the highway and I had to take a detour.
I've had nothing but trouble with the cars. I've had two of them. The main thing is most of February and March I've had nothing but trouble. They've changed the phone app as part of the thing with the Volt. Part of the remote control that does things to the car. It turns the horn alarm off, it turns the engine on twice to cool the car off or warm the car up and it also does remote unlock and locking of the doors. The thing about the Volt is when you plug it into the wall to charge the battery back, there's supposed to be a notification to allow you to get a text to tell you what's going on with it. Well, that wasn't working for some reason for the iPhone when they put the new app out. I had to get a completely new operating system for my phone. The new app wouldn't run under my operating system so I had learn a new operating system for the iOS. That wasn't bad enough but the app wouldn't work. You have to change to have your username the same as your email. That was the glitch. they didn't tell me any of that. One of the guys that brought me to my car said oh by the way here's the problem, you can't use the same username you had before you have to have the username to be your email address. It drove me nuts. Even after I changed it it still wasn't working until it magically popped up and worked one Saturday evening.
I'm thoroughly dissatisfied with their level of service. They are getting really, really hard to tolerate their level of customer service. Don't leave me stranded when I have to go get my blood pressure taken.
I have to use them because they are the only ones in town.

I purchased a used car from Bob Steele. They added a fee of $699 the fee is dealer prep, after I told them I would pay $5000 for the car the final I had to pay was $6200. After I paid I was given a paper that they said was a report from a mechanic of theirs, the paper said there were problems with the car, I found some of the problems did not exist, after driving a few days I found the AC did not work properly, they agreed to check it, Bob Steel repair shop said the AC needed $1300 to fix it. I ask how did they know the compressor was going bad, they said the could hear it making noise, when I got the car home I listened, there is no noise.

My daughter's 2012 Honda Civic was damaged in an accident. My insurance company Geico offered their and quot;Xpress Auto Repair Serviceand quot;. They advised me that with their service they can control the quality of the work, the costs and make sure the repairs are done on time. Right!
The vehicle was dropped off on the 25th of November. The Geico adjuster and the body shop personnel advised that the repair would take four days and would be ready on the 29th. So we waited in town all that Friday (took the day off from work) anticipating the phone call from Bob Steele that never came. So I called Geico. and quot;Oh well apparently the car is not ready yet. It will probably be Mondayand quot;.
Monday, December 2nd comes and goes without any calls or information as to status.
Tuesday, December 3rd... at 4pm the body shop calls and says that well when they were working on the car they noticed that an and quot;appliqueand quot; was torn and yes it should have been caught earlier, but now they will have to order the part and the car will be done and ready to be picked up Wednesday. And that I would get a call when it was and quot;out frontand quot;.
No call was received on Wednesday so we called at 4:15 pm. Well they were not sure if the car was ready and they would check and call back (my wife). The Bob Steele receptionist (?) then calls me and states that they are cleaning up the car but just need ten more minutes to get it ready....
Five minutes after that and quot;Lindaand quot; from the body shop calls me and states that she checked on the car and well there is a and quot;littleand quot; over-spray on the car and that it will need to be cleaned up before it's ready.
Furious, I call the Geico Adjuster who says that she will call the body shop manager and get right on it. She calls me back and states that she spoke directly with the manager and that he would call me by 10am on November 5th to give me an honest update as to the status of my vehicle.
At 11:00am on the 5th, The Geico Adjuster calls to inform me that the vehicle has still not gone through Quality Control and is not ready. So if the car was ready to be picked-up yesterday, why is it not ready today, I ask? I inform her that the manager has still not called.
As I write this it is now 2:00pm (Nov. 5th) and still no call from anyone. I understand that things happen but the lack of any courtesy calls and the incredibly horrible customer service can not be excused.
I STRONGLY suggest that any reader of this review steer far away from Bob Steele Chevrolet and unfortunately Geico.

They were really willing to work with us to make the deal happen. My husband was very satisfied with the truck. He really enjoyed it. They explained to him all the features of the vehicle. It's the second automobile that we bought from them.

All the repairs were under warranty and they also threw in a free oil change. I give them all A's and will use them again in the future.

They left some scratches on my car while trying to replace the ignition switch. The repair work was fine. They have a policy that they wash your car every time you take it in. I got mine back and it wasn't washed. But they did do the job fine and I have no complaints about that. I will use them again in the future.
