For over 10 years John at Affordable Appliance, and his other employees, has given us the best service anyone could ask for. Great service, at a great price with a 100% no worry service. The repairman, John, was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. He replaced a valve on the washing machine with a new one he had brought with him, and it now works fine.
The broken ice-maker was another story. He said that we needed to replace the screw drive that pushes the ice out of the "bucket" of cubes, but that we would save his company's markup if we ordered the part ourselves. He provided us with the model number of the refrigerator/freezer, and a telephone number where we could order the part. Just to make sure that we did it right, we placed the phone order in his presence. When the part arrived a week later, it was only a plastic ice "bucket" with no hardware, totally useless. We contacted John, telling him what had happened, and requesting that he assume responsibility for obtaining the proper replacement part, even if it meant paying his company overhead. He refused, saying it was against company policy.
We are now using another repair service, starting from scratch; what we paid John for labor on the ice-maker and for the part we ordered is money down the drain. I have never before seen an appliance repair shop that refused to obtain the necessary replacement parts as part of their service, and we will definitely never use Affordable Appliance Repair again.

I called the service on a Tuesday and explained the problem of the fridge not making ice and that the water dispenser had stopped working a couple of months prior to the ice problem. We set up a time for a next day appointment that I could make on a lunch break. John called the next day and gave me an ETA and then called again when he was in-route to confirm the arrival time. John knows all about appliances and went right into confirming/trouble shooting the issues. It was a water valve that went bad and he confirmed all switches and wiring were correctly working.

The scheduling and timing were great minimizing any loss of time at my work place. The speed of troubleshooting and repair was great. John did have the part needed and the ice and water are working great now.

I have also had John repair my washer dryer over the years with the same great service and expertise. My Father that lives in Merritt Island Just had his ice maker replaced in May 2014 by John with great service as well.

I would recommend this company to anyone needing an appliance repair.

October 19th I called for service to Affordable Appliance Repair. He arrived the next day, looked at the problem. The upper blade in my dishwasher had fallen down. I found it among the upper rack w/dishes. I looked to see if I could replace it and I couldn't see anything. That's when I called a service repair man. He showed me what to do if it ever happened again and explained that it might need a new part in the future. He replaced the blade, collected his fee and left. Four days later when I used my dishwasher again, the blade came down again. I called him, asked that he fix it again and if a new part was needed to go ahead and order it and I would pay for it. I accused him of charging me to fix it. He agreed. We terminated the call. He called me back about two minutes later and remarked he would re-fund my money. I agreed. Approximately three weeks later I called about my refund and he remarked he would send me a check at the end of the week when he payed his bills. I said O.K. Approximately three weeks later I still had not received my refund, so I tried calling him again. He has four different locations in four different regions. I tried for two days and all I got was his voice mail was full and it couldn't receive anymore messages. All four locations with four different numbers: CoCo/St. John = 631-5544 Rocklidge: 632-4434 CoCoa Beach: 799-5424 Merritt Island = 453-5569 There are no addresses in the phone book, so I couldn't go to the shop. And it's always been my belief that if a business relies on automated calls, they usually do not have a secretary and they work out of a room in their own home. So I called you.

He was very courteous, fast and professional. I would definitely call him again.

After diagnosing the problem (30min.) john discussed our options and the prices for the options. He also gave us his opinion and recommend that we not repair the appliance but instead buy a new one. Which we did.
This is the second time we have used affordable and are quite satisfied with their work and honestly.

He did work for us a week ago. He was great. The guy told me exactly what was wrong. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything. He took a look at the entire machine and told me that it was still a good machine except for the one part that he replaced. He explained to me what I could do to extend the life of the washer. I've got a twenty year old washing machine. He was real good. He came out when he was supposed to. He was in and out in no time at all. He cleaned up after himself. I thought the price was fair.

They recommended me to another company and it would have cost more to fix the unit than to just replace it.

Overall, it was a really good experience but the exhorbitant labor charge left a sour taste. I don't object to paying for good service, which I acknowledge they did provide, however, I just can't accept being charged $100 for 20 minutes labor. Even with travel, it was barely 1 hour.
