"Hello [Member Name Removed], I am very sorry that you were not satisfied with your new art room. Even worse, I am shocked you have been this upset for a year! Remodels can be challenging and yours was no exception. Despite our challenges, which included dealing with COVID during your project, I left our last meeting with the impression that you were satisfied. I believe I answered all your text, phone calls, emails and even drove out to your house, the day after you sent me an email about the floor, to explain how and why the floor was poured to the height that it was poured to ensure that your hidden door was in fact hidden. I explained that the person you hired to install the door did not spend the inordinate amount of time with the manufacturer, as I did, to understand how the bookcase/hidden door was to be installed. I even offered to meet with your new contractor to explain how the door you provided, that arrived late, was to be installed as to make sure it retained it's "hidden" properties. Furthermore, I even offered to install the door at no cost to you. Somehow, someone convinced you, despite all my efforts, that the floor needed to be raised, for an absurd amount of money, even after I sent you drawings with explanations. Nevertheless, I have reached out to you via phone calls, text and emails to try to rectify any dissatisfaction. Alas, I have not heard back from you. Please reach out to me so we can ensure your satisfaction as that is my primary goal. Sincerely, Danny Sorondo Operating Owner HRS Construction"

"Hello, good to finally hear from you. We have been trying to contact you about Punch Out (The final stage of a job to make minor adjustments and touch up’s) and final payment. After traveling to your house numerous times for meetings, you requested, (one of which you blatantly stood me up after I texted you my ETA) to create a punch list and speaking with your husband numerous times about resolution to your concerns, setting a plan and never hearing back from you or him, we finally had to send you a final payment demand letter. I guess that got your attention. Maybe I should have sent all correspondence through certified mail instead of phone calls, text, and emails. All seem to be bad forms of communication for you. I am glad we can finally communicate. As stated in many different media to you from HRS, after discussing your discontentment with work that was completed, per you or your husband’s direction, and materials that were signed off and approved by you, we have offered solutions that involved free services and materials to make you happy. Many of which we were assured, by your husband, that would be acceptable, and he would get back with us for planning. To no avail. I am pretty sure you are just trying to get something for free. Similar to what you are trying to do with the contractor that installed your exterior doors prior to our acquaintance. A door installation that you badgered me to criticize for a poor quality of work. You even asked me to fight with the door manufacturer for you. I should have seen the red flag then! And shame on you for preying on a small family business with the same tactic. And then you double down by trying to ruin my reputation with this bad review? Even when all my other reviews are 4 and 5 stars. I am sure people relying on these reviews are smart enough to see through your unfounded review and see you, and me, for who we truly are. I would rather not take you to court for payment. So, when can we expect final payment of 21% of your entire project?"

"Hi [Member Name Removed]: Thank you for your review. I am very sorry that you were not extremely satisfied with the work performed at your house. This project happened in a very limited time frame as you needed it done quickly. When we move that fast (I think it was a 1 week turn around), quick thinking and communication with the client is paramount as we have little time to plan or do our usual pre-construction walk trough with the client, estimator and installer. We should have found the time to walk the job together and we could have avoided these issues. We did have difficulty matching the old plywood as it was no longer available in the mill style. That is why we credited you the amount of the difference in materials. As for the insulation, I had assumed that what was existing was already R30 and my guys made an assumption that they were changing like for like which was R19. Furthermore, when estimating repairs, one never knows what they will encounter when one starts removing outer wood. When me guys saw that the trusses had furring strips running perpendicular to the trusses, they feared that they would have to remove all the furring strips and replace them. Each one was built out and that would have taken a long time. After speaking with you and my installers, we were able to come up with a solution that would not interrupt the furring strips at no additional cost to you. Lastly, as for the paint, our contract clearly stated that we would provide primer and the client would provide paint. I understand that you did not read it that way so I even paid for half the paint. Nevertheless, I am glad that we were able to make corrections on the fly and still meet our deadline. We appreciate your business and feedback as we are always learning and improving. I hope you would consider using us in the future and maybe even increasing our rating on your review as I do believe that the end result was satisfying. Thank you and have a great day."
