I spoke to Linda on the phone and she was pleasant and informative. She was very flexible with scheduling, and even offered me a same-day appointment if I wanted it. On the day of the inspection, she arrived early, and she took her time and explained everything to me. She had tried to look up the roofing permit online before she arrived, and although she couldn't find it, she still spent time with me that same day trying to find something on the internet. She even called a few contractors to ask if they had records for replacing the roof! When the inspection was over, she walked me step-by-step through her report and explained everything in it. She told me all the things the insurance company looks for before issuing discounts, and she seemed as disappointed as I was that one item was missing. She took time to explain it to me, and when all was said and done, my total insurance discount was $600 per year!

CASS had been recommended to me by Liberty Mutual, who told me that in order to insure my house, they would need to have a roof inspection. Although what they didn't tell me at the time was that if I hadn't re-roofed since 2002, they didn't want me, I decided to have the inspection anyway, because Linda, the co-owner of CASS Services, told me that I could save money on my existing policy if the roof was constructed as per current code. Statutory discounts apply for certain things like clips and straps, and 8d nails used for attachment.
I talked to Linda this morning, and she told me that they would be in Ormond Beach, but that they would be able to see me on their way back. Linda and her son, Joshua, arrived on time and got right to work, performing the services as detailed above. While Joshua worked in the attic, Linda was giving me the benefit of her vast knowledge of the subject of homeowners' insurance, roofing, and how the two interact. I dug out my insurance policy for Linda, who showed me exactly what I would save and told me how to get the discounts that were prescribed by law. It turns out that I'll be saving about $200 per year. You can't beat that with a stick!
When Linda told me that I'd receive an email report tonight, I believed her, so I'm writing this before I see the final product. However, I have great faith that it will be fine. Linda described exactly what would be in it.
