It was amazing how great it went. This was a last second move that I had called them 2 weeks before needing to be picked up. I thought the move was going to be the most stressful part but as it turns out Suddath made it the only part I didn't have to think about or worry. Hopefully won't have to move again but if I do I will be calling Suddath

I used Suddath Relocation Systems when I moved.  I used them mid July.  I wasn't very happy.  I used them coming out of Miami and they were wonderful but the ones out of Tampa, too many things missing, just not very good service, and I think I have to give the Tampa people a C+.  The price was good, the price was alright.  They were punctual.  If I had an option I would not use them in the future.  I didn't bother with it because I didn't feel they would reimburse me.

I am very pleased with all aspects of my move. The personnel were on time from the estimator, to the packers, to the movers and finally at the end for the unloading and placement. I must have been given their A Team because not only were they professional but also very personable. The estimate was very close to the final billing. I found no marks or dings on the furniture. Unlike other experiences with movers, nothing was broken. I would call them again for a move.

Both moves went very well. The crews showed up when they said they would. They were professional, efficient and helpful. The estimates were accurate and we are very pleased with both moves and hoping the third delivery in Massachusetts goes as well.
Suddath was recommended to us by a Realtor friend from our church.

We knew we were in trouble when we heard "uh-oh" and "get the camera" from the crew delivering our furniture. The furniture had been wrapped in one layer of brown paper (no quilts, no padding) and placed in crates. The crates were not full, and the things in them had obviously shifted around a lot. One crate was broken. Everything from dining room furniture to an oil painting was gouged and scratched, and there is a strange mold on some items. Many items had sentimental value - the oil painting has been in the family for three generations.
Filing a claim was time-consuming, because we had to estimate the date of purchase and cost to replace each item. Once the claim was filed, it took several phone calls and two weeks to have a Furniture Medic franchisee come out (apparently an adjuster was not available), then another set of phone calls and two weeks to be told that some of the damage would not be covered because the Suddath employees packing it had marked that it was damaged when they picked it up..
It turns out that the "item numbers" the Suddath employee had referred to on the packing form were actually codes for "scratched," "gouged," "chipped," etc. and that most items, even brand new items, were coded as previously damaged.
Given the cost of the move, the damage caused and the time we've spent filing paperwork, following up to try to get an adjuster to come out and meeting with the Furniture Medic, we would have been better off putting everything out on the curb and buying new furniture at our destination.
We can't recommend you hire Suddath to move your household, but if you do, take photos of each item BEFORE it leaves your home. Do not sign any forms without understanding what codes are embedded in their "item numbers."

We've scheduled this company to move us at the end of the month. So far they've been very professional, and I've been pleased. I have high hopes this will be a positive experience.

Although the people who did the actual work, i.e. packing, moving furniture onto the van from the Venice house, and the moving of the household items into the Pittsfield home, were professional, courteous and helpful, the officials making decisions regarding what was allowable and what required extra costs and arrangements were extremely unhelpful. Decisions changed from day to day, and the moving of one very large item required an extra day before we were able to vacate the house. Also, we were told that the items that went into the van in containers would stay in containers in storage, come out in containers and be loaded into the van coming to Pittsfield in containers. The van that arrived at our home in Pittsfield containing the stored contents of our Venice home did not have them in containers. Not only that, but they off loaded a table, a carjack, and an ironing board that did belong to us. They lost part of an entry table and the base of some oriental design cabinets which can only be replaced by a cabinet maker. After the October move, we spent hours trying to get our missing items back. We were told they couldn't be found. However, the company never even bothered to pick up the items left here that obviously belonged to someone else.
Response from Suddath Relocation Systems of St. Petersburg, Inc.

"Our most sincere apologies for not meeting your every need. This relocation indeed had a 1000# safe at the residence. Our estimator assumed, incorrectly, that our people could move this safe and its contents. The project was much too large for our movers, so we hired a professional safe mover to get it out to our truck. Then we hired one at destination to assist as well. The additional expense was absorbed by our company due to us not having quoted this. Our additional expense was $1500 and we did not charge the customer for this. When the overall charges were in question by this customer, our controller here went above and beyond to develop spread sheets to demonstrate all charges and how they were applied. Many, many conversations and explanations, and time, were spent to assist with necessary resolutions to any issues. The storage of household goods is always completed by our company in large wooden crates, called "storage vaults". This minimizes the handling on the goods by utilizing our special trailer to hold these vaults and load directly into them. But since all agents are individually owned and operated, these vaults would never leave our premises to travel interstate. They are owned by our company. So while I am truly sorry for any miscommunication about this fact, these would never leave our premises and would not be a promise we would make. As far as the missing items you've claimed, our internal Claims Department has handled this issue and we are apologetic for any inconvenience. In regards to the overage of items you received, these should have been retrieved by now and will be handled soon with you. Overall, as you mention, our services were professionally handled by "courteous and helpful" personnel. We are happy to see that type of service performed and will always strive to be better and better. Overall for your move, we actually lost money in this transaction, but were striving for your satisfaction. I sincerely wish we had succeeded."

Response from Suddath Relocation Systems of St. Petersburg, Inc.

"In reference to the above move, the paperwork has been pulled and reviewed. We are very sorry to see the charges of this relocation increase, but many factors played into this situation. At origin, there was a 400-500 foot carry for the furniture, which can be difficult to estimate. In addition, other circumstances came into play at destination. Items of furniture were requested to be moved around within the home, which adds man hours. Other items within the home were asked to be moved to the garage to make room for items within the load. The refrigerator doors needed to be removed to gain access to the kitchen area for this appliance. In the end, it needed to be put back into the garage when it would not fit. Local moves are based on an hourly charge because the scope of work changes for most people. Many unforeseen issues can arise and we need to react accordingly. Our crew members are instructed to take care of the customers' requests and be sure to work with them to make the transition smooth. We are very sorry that the move for the member was not completely satisfactory. It is our goal to meet everyone's expectations to the fullest extent."

After interviewing three of the large moving companies, there was no doubt that Suddath was our first choice. Tim Estep, sales executive, came out to our home to perform an inventory, tell us about his services and give us the cost. I liked him from the beginning. Tim was personable and most importantly, spoke confidently of his company and their business practices. Tim brought us boxes and more boxes as our needs changed. Moving day is always stressful, but the team was efficient and careful. Ray, our driver, encountered icy conditions on the trip, which slowed down his arrival time, but we all agreed, safety first. He was good about keeping us updated on his travel time. We were exceptionally pleased with our move on both ends and would not hesitate to recommend Suddath. We did have damage to one of our beds, as can happen with all moves. The important thing is Karen, our coordinator, has been very responsive to this issue. Thank you, Suddath!

Moving is never fun, especially across country, but Suddath made it so much easier. This is the best move we've ever had. This company is first class from start to finish. Pam Mueller, our sales rep, was very professional, by far the most knowledgeable person I've ever met in her field, and was very thorough in her cost estimate. She went above and beyond the call of duty for us on more than one occasion. Our point of contact, Duane, was also professional, helpful, and kept in constant contact to ensure our move was progressing smoothly. And, our driver (Chris) and his handlers were courteous, extremely efficient, and kept to their word regarding arrival times, delivery date for destination, and damage free hauling and moving (none to our home, hard wood floors, furniture or belongings!) . We are so very impressed with this group that we would surely use them again and would definitely recommend them to anyone in need of moving services.

They arrived on time and began to work immediately. They had enough workers in the crew to get the job done quickly. They worked very hard and were very professional. Great care was taken to our belongings. The best part was the final price was below the original estimate. We would definately use them again and would recommend them to anyone who needs to move. Good job gentlemen, keep up the good work.

They did a great job. It's the second time I've used them. They were right on target with the price, what they quoted me is what they charged me. They delivered on time, everything was accounted for, it was an excellent move. They had a business manager, and he came out and looked at the stuff first, then the movers came subsequent to that, and it was fine, it was no problem.

We do not recommend them. Make sure you take the time to review all your items. Some items I did look and told them was damaged, he just fixed it quickly and made it even worse...ex broken chairs. They damaged so many of our nice pieces of furniture. ALWAYS REVIEW ITEMS BEFORE YOU SIGN OFF ON THE PAPERWORK!!!

Called to find out about moving small amount of furniture across country. Could have 'taken me to the cleaners', but instead recommended another company that specializes in small moves and would be less expensive. Very professional and tops in customer service. I will definitely contact them for future moves and/or storage needs.

From the beginning of my move, which started with Don S coming to give an estimate, to the end I was very pleased. In Tampa I was assigned to Ronald and Chris who loaded my move from a storage unit where things had been sitting for two years. The storage unit was previously packed by another moving company, who shall remain, unnamed, when I moved from Miami two years ago, and things were not properly packed, and were thrown placed in the unit with no rhyme or reason. This complicated the loading of the truck but Ronald and Chris did a very good job. The actual move was done by Jason and Donald. They were very positive, helpful, professional and efficient. I could not have been happier with the service I received. Additionally, Markel from the Suddath United office was in frequent contact with me to make certain that the move was going smoothly. I would recommend them to others and will definitely use them again in the future.
