About us

Florida has always been about family, so it’s little surprise that Buddy and Deanna Greenway have run SERVPRO of Largo since 1983! Sandwiched between the picturesque Lake Belleview and Clearwater's financial district, the husband & wife team conduct weekly meetings with their staff to ensure they combine their extensive experience in restoration with quality customer-first service. Largo is the third largest city in Pinellas County Florida, and it has seen its fair share of storms. Buddy and Deanna were here to help pick up the pieces after Hurricane Opal, a category 4 hurricane, in 1995. They are still here helping residents prepare for Hurricane Michael and beyond, using their expertise to contribute meaningfully to the community in times of disaster. Buddy is a Florida state certified building contractor, mold assessor, mold remediator and EPA certified lead renovator. Their technicians are all trained to the highest IIRC standards and have the certificates to prove it. However, what makes this team stand out is their ability to use their experience against storm damage. Knowing where to put work crews during restoration, how or where to store possessions and carrying out vital temporary repairs to control loss are just a few of the questions Buddy and Deanna have answered down the years. Clearwater is a close-knit community, but we are always happy to welcome new residents. Directing them to the Pinellas trail or Florida botanical gardens as well as the Ruth Eckerd school for performing arts. These are celebrations of our community, and we invite you to celebrate with us by joining us for the annual Relay for life (cancer awareness foundation) or attend our sponsored golf tournaments that crop up all over Clearwater and the Tampa Bay area. ServePro of Largo is horrible. Do NOT trust them. If you use them anyway, make certain that you get everything in writing. This includes what they propose to do, timeframe, and especially the price. I was billed over $4000 more than the quoted price of $8800. Please learn from my mistake and do not give them your credit card nmber.

As far as drying the place so it didn't mold - that was the only good thing. They hire the absolute worst contractors and the work is shoddy. Only six years later and my whole kitchen floor is falling apart. I contacted a flooring place to come give me an estimate on repair and they said I would have to replace the whole floor. They stated that it was poor workmanship that caused the ceramic tiles to buckle, they are supposed to leave an easement so the grout/tiles can expand and contract but they didn't and now only six years later it needs replacement. I not only do not recommend I would advise everyone to stay away if at all possible. It was more than just the tile falling apart now but if you're on Angie's List please find reputable contractors, I don't want anyone else at one of the hardest times in their life (when their house gets destroyed) to go through what I did.

They said I needed to replace my whole ceiling and wanted to charge a lot of money. Servpro also said that I'd have to put in cleaners in the rest of my house. He thought my house was contaminated. I believe they used scare tactics to try to get me to sign a contract. I don't trust them. The estimator also took receipts from my home that he never returned. I called the company to follow up but never heard back beyond the standard, "Thank you for calling." They didn't send another estimator out -- they didn't do anything. I got another estimate from another company who said the exact opposite.

We had an air-conditioning serviceman out to clear the drainpipe before ServoPro came in.
   In the first visit by ServoPro the servicemen felt the the amount of water was limited.  They cleaned the area around the air handler and applied some anti-mildew chemicals to prevent problems.  Several heavy-duty fans were put in place to dry out the affected areas.
  The next day we thought we detected the water in another area.  Another ServoPro serviceman came out that day.  He cut out a small section of drywall to look under the air handler.  Only a small amount of water was present.  This would have probably dried out with what was already being done.  He left the opening with a dehumidifier in place.
   The servicemen carefully checked the moisture levels on the floors and walls every time they were out.  They looked carefully for damage.  They explained why they were doing things and answered our questions effectively.
   After several days the fans and dehumidifier were removed and things returned to normal.
   We were fortunate that no long-range damage had developed and further work was needed after the areas were dried out.

They ripped out all the carpet, sucked up all the water, and put in dehumidifiers. They came back each day after that, twice a day, to take readings and take care of any other work. They also gave us an estimate on the repair, but we decided to do it ourself. I would give them an A+ for their response time.

Early on Saturday evening water started pouring out of our master bath into adjacent rooms and through walls. We quickly shut off the master water line but could determine the source of the water. I called a leak detection company and plumber for the repairs, and called Servpro for cleanup. Servpro was out within the hour. The technicians were very polite and clean. They worked quickly to prevent damage to cabinetry and drywall in our master bathroom, kitchen, and office. The fans and dehumidifiers remained behind for several days, until all traces of moisture were gone. They pulled up and cleaned the carpet, removed and replaced the soaked pad beneath. The lead technician kept us informed with appropriate updates. We were very concerned about damage to cabinetry as we had recently remodeled our kitchen and bathroom. I used to be an insurance adjuster and am very familiar with what needed to be done; Servpro did everything exactly as required to prevent damage. This company did a great job. I used another extraction service in the past - I will stick with Servpro in the future.

They came out within an hour of my initial phone call. They pulled the carpet up along with the pad and set fans to dry the floor. They came back 24 hours later to check it to make sure it was drying. They re set the fans and came back the next day to pick them up. I was a little disappointed with their prices. I thought they were a little high. They wanted to charge me an additional $200 on top of the $800 to lay a new pad/lay the carpet and clean it. I would consider hiring them again if the price was a little better.

THE SERVICES OF THIS COMPANY WERE NEEDED DUE TO AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. EVERYONE I DEALT WITH WAS EXTREMELY HELPFUL AND UNDERSTANDING. THEY EVEN MOVED ALL THE FURNITURE! MY INSURANCE COMPANY COVERED ALL COSTS, AND PRAISED THE JOB THEY DID FOR PREVENTING MORE PROBLEMS. I HOPE I NEVER FLOOD AGAIN, BUT IF I DO, I'VE GOT THEIR NUMBER!
