We LOVE our new outdoor space and kitchen! Premier Outdoor was great to work with. Love the communication and the way they run the project. It was completed as promised and on time.

Premier was a disaster choice from day 2. They forgot several items for the contract until after it was signed, they mis-measured the back yard for the patio, and it wasn't until months later we discovered their plans were 7 feet shorter than we'd hired them to do. They told us the cost for running the utilities for the kitchen, fireplace and hot tub would be around 4-5 thousand, but they ended up costing $9,000. So we canceled all but the patio, utilities, and screen. Then about 9 months after signing the contract, they finally began construction. The footers were supposed to be raised so the patio wasn't sloped like our backyard was, but they went full lazy, and didn't do that either. Then they installed the pavers so poorly, that there were numerous broken pavers installed, plus they even installed a couple with the plastic wrap still around them. About 25% of the pavers had a gap that was wider than allowed by regulation. Their answer to our request to fix it was to just throw piles of sand all over our patio. Then after the hot tub was installed, we discovered that due to the slope they had built the patio at, only 3 people could be in our 7 person tub before water spilled over the side. After numerous request for them to level it and fix everything, they replaced the broken pavers, and fixed some of the gaps and uneven pavers, but not all. And certainly didn't fix the sloped footers. As a "showing of goodwill" they tried to level just the area the hot tub sat on, but didn't level an area wide enough for the hot tub. So now it doesn't even sit flat on the pavers. Even though they made it "perfectly clear" that we didn't have to pay until we were happy, then have now demanded final payment, have refused to fix the remaining issues, and have apparently filed a lien on our property. Don't hire these clowns. They lied repeatedly to our faces about what they were going to do, and never did it, since it was a spoken promise, and never written into the contract. Every sub-contractor they used was a disaster as well. The electrician decided to wire in the electrical breaker box for the hot tub right next to it. You could literally sit in the hot tub and play with the breakers. He didn't bring the correct kind of wiring to actually hook up the hot tub, as hired to do, and then wanted another $200 to come back out and do it again. He didn't wire up an outlet in our garage correctly resulting in it melting and burning the outlet and wires. The screen installers left all the aluminum bits they drilled all over, and even after cleanup, there were thousands of them, getting stuck in my dog's paws, fur, our shoes, etc. When I complained to Premier, they simply brought a blower, and blew thousands of them into my lawn. During the numerous times they were at our house completing "fixes" the owner and foreman would stand across the street from our house, bad mouthing us. They didn't realize our neighbors were sitting there, hearing every word they said. When it rains, water pools up at the bottom of our sloped patio now, and the owner claims we live on wetlands. Uh, no. He's a liar, a thief, and a very poor contractor. Never use them for anything.

"As a contractor of over 17 years, every once in a while I run into a homeowner that just can not be made happy no matter how many times I go back and do things for them I was not contracted to do. It is strange that I have many clients that give us 5 star reviews over the years if I am that terrible of a contractor. We have done extra work for this client at our own expense. We have completed all of the corrections we are contracted for and required to do and then some. This client has been looking for ways to avoid paying his invoices, and making bogus claims and demands. We have gone back repeatedly and have just realized that he will never accept anything we do. Every once in a while when a contractor can't make their client happy, we just let the attorney's sort it out."

Short Version – Stay away from Premier Outdoor Living. They do not manage the project, they just hire the subcontractors and send them out to do the work with no supervision. We’ve had issues with every step of our project, and Premier points the finger at either us, the homeowner or the subcontractor without accepting any responsibility or coming out to supervise. Bottom line - they take your money, but they don’t manage the job. Our salesperson said our project would take about 3 weeks once the permits were obtained and they broke ground. They began work on November 26th, 2018. We just issued final payment on April 8, 2019 if that gives you any indication of the frustration and poor project management we’ve endured. Want more details on how a 3 week job turns into a 19 week (over 4 months!) job? Here you go: While large in scale, the project is essentially simple – construct a new patio, add a roof and birdcage, run electric to the hot tub, add two fans and an outlet along an exterior wall. We pointed out to the salesman, Rich, where we wanted the outlet to be, where the patio, roof, and screen would come to, exactly where the hot tub placement would be, and the two fans would (obviously) be centered across the span of the roof. Premier put in two work orders for our birdcage structure. What ended up being installed were white support poles with bronze birdcage. (this has been fixed with ‘covers’ but they did not offer a solution right away -the patio contractor was going to leave them as is or offered to spray paint them). They “forgot” the hot tub – causing issues for not enough paving base to be put down, no electricity being run to the hot tub, and issues with fan placement due to electrical code. Premier didn’t look up code for our project until 60 days after the project had broke ground (1/24/2019). Because they didn’t look up code, they didn’t know we couldn’t have two fans, as requested and designed. Now, we have 1 fan that is not centered on the patio, but far off to one side. It looks poorly planned and takes away from the overall look of the patio. Side note - Their remedy for their negligence was to close the permit and come back after the fact and install the second fan illegally (this solution was offered by both the Project Manager and the Salesperson). We declined as we are paying for a professional company, not someone trying to circumvent code. The pavers were installed incorrectly – 2” of base was put down and compacted, but they did not put the loose sand on top of the base. After installing the pavers, they put sand on top – but hosed it off, so it didn’t settle properly between the pavers. (Per our project manager, 4” of base should have been used). After the pavers were installed, we had heavy rain for two or three days in a row. At least 85% of the pavers were shifting, loose, and uneven. We had asked multiple times for our project manager to have the paving company to come back out and fix this. Our project manager kept telling us they were coming, but no one showed up. The owner of the paving company came out, apologized, and said they would re-do the work. They took up all the pavers not cemented in, added the loose sand, reset the pavers Again, they hosed off the sand they put on top. Our new project manager from Premier said he would be here to supervise the work to ensure it was done correctly. He was not here. No additional paver base was added, and my husband and I had to take our own weekend to properly sweep the sand into the joints as it should have been done originally. (pics below) The roof and patio enclosure have their fair share of issues as well, all of which the company tells us “too late to do anything about it now”. We had to bring attention of these issues to Premier’s attention as they were not onsite to see all the problems. The contractor used interior grade hinges on our exterior patio – they are already rusting soon after he installed them. We asked him to replace them with exterior grade, but he said he spent too much money on the interior grade and it was too late to do anything about it. Once we complained again to Premier, the contractor said he would install new exterior grade hinges if we bought them. This has been completed – but we shouldn’t have had to work so hard to have proper materials used. The supports for the screen enclosure are rusting and dripping rusty water on our travertine tiles, which looks terrible. The contractor said we just need to clean out the leaves from the super gutter and add some caulk. Unfortunately, there is a large 2” gap that I don’t see how caulk will fix, so we thought we would need to come up with some other DIY remedy. When we again mentioned this to Premier, then the patio contractor said they forgot the beam cap. They came out and put black…glop of something (maybe a type of caulk or silicone??). Not a beam cap. They did not touch up any of the aluminum they cut, so we have gone out and bought our own rusty metal primer and touch up paint to stop further damage. We have requested the contractor not come out again and we will find some DIY remedy ourselves. (pics below) The biggest issue is that the roof is sagging in the middle and is not level – causing water to collect, which is going to lead to mosquito issues. Theoretically, we have a 1 year warranty, but I’m not confident anyone we have worked with will follow through and do quality work. Long story short – if you’ve always wanted to pay a company a lot of excess money to take your checks, but not manage the project or the subcontractors, then hire Premier Outdoor Living. Make sure you have a lot of extra vacation time so you can come home to tell the subcontractors what needs done, and be sure to read up on code so you make sure the project can be completed legally. I highly suggest you take your business elsewhere. Working with Premier has been a terrible, very expensive experience; we would have been much better off hiring our own subcontractors since we were essentially onsite project managers for this whole project.

"I was very surprised to learn that Mrs. & Mr. [Member Name Removed] wrote a negative review regarding their experience with Premier Outdoor Living. There are 2 sides to every story, and somewhere in the middle is where the truth lies. In reading the review that Mrs. [Member Name Removed] wrote you would believe that everything that our company did was wrong, bad , incorrect, mismanaged or something of that nature. The reality is our process, and payment structure allows the homeowners to have control throughout the build. If the homeowner is not happy with the results, they would withhold the payment until the milestone is reached and the quality is approved. Mrs. & Mr. [Member Name Removed] were told up front that their project would take longer to get started than it actually took, and so when we were able to get started earlier I was amazed that they complained that we were getting started earlier than we anticipated. Every custom construction project has some issues and surprises, and their project is no exception to this. It is not IF there will be a challenge; it is WHEN the challenges will show up, and how they are handled. Mrs. [Member Name Removed] said the salesperson forgot the hot tub, but the reality is we knew all along there was a hot tub. The client's did not know where they were going to place the hot tub until the pavers and structure were completed. There was no way for us to know where to put the electric because they would not give us an exact location of the hot tub. They said we did not look up an electrical code, but the reality is without knowing where they wanted to put their hot tub we would not know there was a code issue at all. You cannot withhold pertinent information until the last second, and then say "Well you should have figured this out ahead of time" The original review that was written by Mr. [Member Name Removed] was a 1 star review. This review was written even before we finished the job. Premier has worked through every issue Mr. [Member Name Removed] stated he was unhappy with. As Premier worked through the punch list items, Mr. [Member Name Removed] upgraded his review to 3 stars. We then completed their project and waited a couple weeks for the final payment. We met with Mr. [Member Name Removed] and asked if there were any outstanding items, and he said no and made the final payment. A few weeks after they made the final payment we are getting attacked on multiple review sites. Premier takes pride in our reputation, and we are committed to doing our best, and delivering the best product possible. Even after we received the barrage of bad reviews we contacted Mrs. [Member Name Removed] to see why she was writing bad reviews after we had satisfied all of their request. We asked if there was anything that she wanted. She stated that she "did not want any resolution." We asked if there was something else she needed corrected and she said "No" Premier has many great reviews and satisfied clients. It always seems strange to me how one client's perspective can be so drastically different than another's. Whether it is a great perspective or a poor perspective, somewhere in the middle is where the truth is."

Premier Outdoor Living was able to create a 3D model of our vision, then provide their experienced background to help tailor our needs prior to starting the various phases. Each step was very thorough and communicated clearly on expectations.

Overall the job went well. There were a couple of small hiccups at the outset with contracted paver delivery and and fire pit work. Both were taken care of by Premier.

If it was possible to leave no stars, that's what we would do. Last summer we added a covered area between the house and pool. Some may recall that 2016 was the summer of monsoon.... when we saw the rain and the effect on what would be outdoor living space we were like... YIKES. "Oh," said @LewisThibeault, you may need gutters.... Um, OK we said.... "Of course, that costs more." Um, OK. But those gutters were "insufficient" "You may want "SuperGutters," says Lewis... Um, OK. "Of course, that costs more." When the supergutters were insufficient or improperly installed by their subcontractor. Last year, we wrote to them (a year after installation) No response. There were other problems with the work.... We have pictures and emails to document. BUT this is the gift that kept on giving. Bottom line... no pride in craftsmanship, lots of buck passing. No wonder they do not have a FB page. Wonder what the comments on that would be like?

"was contacted by this client because they wanted a large shaded area in their back yard. We constructed a large elite roof structure for them 2 years ago. (Aluminum Panel). This client contacted us a short while after we were done stating their gutters were not working. When we went back out to see what the issue was, their gutters were filled with Leaves and debris from all the oak trees. We suggested they clean their gutters more often, and we could install leave guards at an additional cost. It is reasonable to expect to have to pay for labor and materials that are furnished and installed in your home. I have not been contacted by this client in over a year, and this is the first time I have heard they are having any issue at all. Cleaning their gutters would resolve their issue."

Absolutely fantastic from beginning to completion!! Premier Outdoor Living and Design handled everything and maintained excellent, frequent communication throughout the project. The design was better than I could have imagined and the price and timeline estimates were on target. All those that worked on the project to build the roof, add the shed, lay the pavers and stone columns/counter base the electrician and the plumbing company were courteous and professional. The landscape company working with Premier was also fantastic. Genuinely nice people that I trusted and felt comfortable with. Premier truly created the patio/backyard we had always dreamed of...Our own resort right here at home! I would highly recommend Premier Outdoor Living and Design to anyone that wants their outdoor living dream to come true.

Premier was the only company who was really interested in coming out and providing a quote. 2 other companies gave a ballpark number. Premier's quote was generally in line with the others but was exact. Premier sourced the exact brand of equipment I wanted installed. Overall construction time was about 10 days. All craftsmen were very courteous and professional.

My main issue with this company is their lack of communication, not only with us (client) but with their subcontractors.  They didn't know when the subcontractors were going to show up to do the work.  It got to the point, they gave us the subcontractors numbers so we would follow up with them.
Purchasing the equipment from them wasn't a deal either, it was at the same price you see it advertised online.  Warranty is a joke,  we ended up having problems with the fireplace, and I ended up repairing myself with the manufacturer's help.
I wish I had considered other quotes; hiring these people was one of the worst decisions I have made.

"I am terribly sorry that Mr. [Member Name Removed] had such a bad experience with our company. The employee that sold and managed the project for Mr. [Member Name Removed] was one of the original founding partners of the company, and has since been relieved of his position with the company. Mr. [Member Name Removed] deserved better communication and service from our company. We apologize to Mr. [Member Name Removed] and we are dedicated to providing better communication and service to all of our clients. This is a very professional company. The owner did the estimate and every step of the way there was good communication and follow up. The installation was done on time and with care. This project was done on a balcony in a new construction project and we will be moving in very soon. We can't wait to use the outdoor kitchen. I would highly recommend Premier. There are no surprises along the way and the value is good for a quality product and service. Thank you!

The process was very smooth from start to finish.  From the estimate to choosing materials, all went as planned.  They were very puntual every day, took pictures of the days work, and sent them out at the end of each work day.  We made a few changes mid-way through the job based on our personal preferences and Premier did a great job of adapting to our vision.
Our outdoor space was completely transformed from a decent space to an unbelievable space.  I highly recommend Premier Outdoor.

After all is said and done I am very happy.  They showed up on time every time they were supposed to.  The work crew stayed very busy and completed the work in stages.  They cleaned the area after each visit and removed all the dirt and debris after the construction.  The crew is very hard working and professional.

There was one moment when I realized the stone front of the kitchen did not fit tightly to the grill area which did not look right at all.  At first there was slight push back, but the owner called and said "let me come out and see for my self"  As soon as he saw what I considered an issue he said "Oh, now I see what your mean"  He scheduled another visit by his crew..  They removed the stone around the grill and used new stone to snug up tight to the grill which gives a much better appearance.  At the same time they made sure the grill was level on an un-level surface around the pool.  (Pool patios have a grade towards they drains)

.I thought I had a major problem but they fixed every aspect of my new kitchen and I could not be happier.  Very reasonable company that completed the job very much to my satisfaction.

I would recommend Premier as a company that stands by their word and operates with integrity.

I met them at a tradeshow in Tampa and requested a proposal for installation of pavers and stacked stone on a bar that I was having installed by another company.

They showed up on time and provided a proposal a week later.

I asked them to remove the stacked stone because I thought I'd try to install that on my own and they told me that the job wouldn't be profitable enough for them...

I moved forward with another company who installed the pavers for $5,300 and who did a FANTASTIC job.

"Premier Outdoor Living and Design strives to provide the most innovative and professionally installed outdoor living spaces with value in mind. This customer wanted to outsource so many parts of this project that it became unprofitable for us and impossible for us to be able to control the quality of the end product. I am very happy that Mr Wilson was able to piece out his work and save some cost by acting as his own contractor and coordinator. I regret that he was able to give us a poor performance review seeing how we did not perform any service. Premier Outdoor Living and Design is driven to enhance the outdoor living lifestyle. If you would like a professional company to design and create a one of a kind outdoor living space please contact us today and lets create paradise in your back yard."
