"We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by our tech's accident. We have agreed to comply with the customers request for replacing the wall panel and reimbursement of customer expense to do the ceiling repair. In addition we have refunded the customer request for a refund. At this time the customer is satisfied with the solution and we sincerely apologize to the customer Jason Kutchinski"
We are SO happy with how the shower turned out! We made the mistake of having this shower and another tub/shower "re-glazed" by another provider we found on Angie's List a few years ago. Literally a few years. If I knew Miracle Method was an option, I would have had them do the shower in the first place! The other method just did not last very long at all. Within a few months, the floor of the shower was already chipping away and because we could only do white, the floor had to be cleaned constantly and eventually it was so scratched that it just would not get clean. Was a total waste of money. BUT, we decided to try this and so far we LOVE it! The natural stone look is the way to go for sure. It looks fantastic! We had a lighter neutral finish on the walls and step, but a dark "mocha" on the floor and one tile up from the floor. AWESOME! The finish seems really durable (so far) and it doesn't feel like "paint" which the re-glazing that was done earlier really was and performed like it (very poorly). The other bathroom will be done next, but the shower is rarely used (mainly for guests), so because it's not used, it's still in good condition. BUT, I can tell you that it would probably need to be redone too if it was used much because of the paint job "re-glazing". The price of the natural finish is certainly not cheap, but in the long run, I'm sorry I didn't do this in the first place, since the re-glazing paint job cost over $600. And it barely lasted a year. Waste of money. The nice thing about the natural finish too is that because it's speckled, it won't show much wear and tear over the years or imperfections. I'd love to post before and after pictures, but the site doesn't seem to let me do that...booooo.
I had gone up to the showroom and saw all the samples. They came within a few days and gave me a quote, plus a $100 discount for being in a high-utilization neighborhood. I guess many people in my neighborhood have this done, which I was unaware of. I was scheduled to have it done within a week or so. The main person doing the work was Nate. He was terrific! The process took about 3 days, since they do one process (cleaning, sealing, primer), then the actual coating the next day, then a final process of several coats of a sealer (or something like that) and a last clear coat. After they took off the tape and left, I did notice a small area that was probably 2 inches long by maybe 1/8 inch wide on a part of the step. It was probably from a taped off spot that didn't get the finish. I called them and after a few days Nate came back and fixed it up nicely. Took him barely 10 minutes and you would never know it was even there in the first place.
Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend this process, especially if you have a high use shower and want something durable. Time will tell, but so far I'm rather confident it will last A LOT longer than the last job. Keep in mind, though, that there is a paint smell that will be in your house during the process and for maybe a day or two after it's done. That may bother some people, but that's probably the only thing I could see that would be an issue with the process.
Thanks Nate and Miracle Method for such a great job!
estimate from Angel, the Miracle Method representative and scheduled work to be completed over two to three consecutive days. Miracle Method sent Samantha to do the work on the days that were scheduled. Samantha did an outstanding job. She was punctual, diligent, thorough and hard working. We were very pleased with her strong work ethic and her desire to do her work with excellence, from start to finish. Our shower now is a thing of beauty!
Thanks Samantha and Miracle Method!
They are demanding additional money to do a good job. The job was sold by Tammy who misrepresented their product and project. She never had anyone look at my tub and never once mentioned that it could cost more money for the ‘what if’s'. She did ask if the tub had been refinished before and I thought not. It was confirmed by the worker that it never had been. Thus, there should have been no issues.
The expensive finish is totally botched. I have called three times without a call back from Jay the owner. Tammy the wife is
the one who misrepresented the job and has been ditching my calls also. I finally caught up with her today. In a nasty voice she told me if I wanted it redone I would be paying for it. I’m thinking Samantha, the worker, saturated it with too much acid and hurt the finish.
"When this bathtub was cleaned to remove all the soap scum and calcium deposits the pitting showed up on this bathtub. The customer was informed that we make a bathtub look as close to new as possible and that the tub was "based upon inspection" she noted if it was going to cost additional she didn't want to do. The tech brought to her attention the pitting after cleaning and she did not want to put additional monies into the bathtub to give it an even "like new" coat. She was unhappy and while we wanted to appease this customer, we were unable to. We did however give her a discount, in which she agreed and paid the invoice. She has since been refunded all monies. Our cleaning products do not contain acid and we do not acid etch so it is impossible that we caused the pitting by cleaning."
When the appointment arrived, the person came out and said he couldn't esimate...that they don't let him do that, he was just there to do the work. I told him that I didn't want him to do anything that I didn't know the price of...so if it was going to be ridiculous I'd look at other options for this job (tile, etc)...so I really wanted to know the price. He said that they charge by the square foot, so that amount extra would be about $100 or so, and he'd get me the exact cost the next day before he finished the main part of the work (his suggestion). Based on this I agreed to let him start the work, and would let him get going on the deck when he told me exactly what the price was. When he came back the next day, he said that he was wrong, that they wouldn't charge by the square foot in my case, that they'd have to treat the rest of my tub area as a second job, and must charge me a minimum job cost of another $397, no exceptions, because I didn't commit to it when they first started the work. If I had committed on the first day they could have charged me by the square foot. I was very upset about this, as they were making me jump through hoops to find the cost, they suggested I find out the next day, then they wanted to charge me quadruple what he said it woudl be and blamed it on me for not committing to the work up front.
I spoke to the owner to try to work this out and he was extremely rude and disrespectful to me, suggesting that, "I needed to take responsibility for my actions" because I should never have work done without knowing the price, and it wasn't his fault that now the work would cost more. I was floored by his tone and response, given that this is EXACTLY what I was trying to do...trying multiple times to get them to give me a firm price before starting the work. He said that I only asked for an estimate at the end of the first day (not true, I had asked 2x prior to also reminding them at the end of the second day that I really needed the price). He wasn't even willing to entertain hearing about my attempts to get pricing from them, or hear anything that might help him understand the situation or prevent it from happening again to another customer.
In short, I do not have a problem with their prices per se, I have a problem with them bumbling my estimate and then stringing me along instead of giving me the price, knowing that it would double or triple the cost by doing it this way. I now have a half finished job that I can't complete unless I agree to "repay" them the full cost of a second job. Based on the behaviors they demonstarted, this is a company that at a minimum is not customer centric in their actions and behavior, and appears to be just out to make a buck, whatever it takes. I would be very concerned about them in any warranty situation or any area where you need them to step up and do the right thing.
