Tree trimming, land clearing, complete lot clean-up and more. What a great customer experience! I recently had to trim some trees, clear yard accumulation of years of debris, remove a few stumps, remove an old fence and prepare the fence line for a new fence. I cannot say enough good words about Kevin Witcombe and his crew. Reasonably priced, on time, professional, friendly, expeditious, and well equipped. Highly recommended!

I do not recommend Kevin Whitcombe’s Tree Works. This company is unsafe and unprofessional. Did not have the proper equipment to trim the large trees on our property. I was extremely worried about the safety of the crew. Just know if you hire this company it is a risk. The owner is uncaring and unprofessional. Never again.

They arrived in the morning with everything they needed and worked from 8AM to 8PM. In two days they they had all three extremely tall pines removed, all wood gone, the grounds cleaned up and the stump and roots taken care of. Now my driveway company can come in and install my new driveway.

Kevin Witcombe is the owner. They were alright with the tree. They were supposed to grind the stump down and they kept pushing it out, pushing it out because they said they had equipments problems. It was quite a while before they got around completing it. They did a good job but it took almost 2 weeks. There was a long delay to finish the job. They didn’t communicate. They said that they will be back to do the stump. They didn’t call and I called them. I called them again and they said they will do it. Then they said they have equipment problems and it will take a while. The work was good when they did it. When they finally said they would come they were punctual but it took them a while for them to agree upon. They had a good price. 

He did quite a bit of work. He also cleaned my roof and gutters when he was done. I will use him again.

On Sept 9, 2010 my husband and I met with Kevin Whitcombe re: removing a tree and the stump from that tree and another stump in our yard. I told Mr Whitcombe that I needed to be able to sod where the stump on the left was. He assured me repeatedly that the stump would be completely ground and the ground ready for sod. He told me he had the largest stump grinder in Pinellas and the roots would be taken 12-18 inches below ground level. That sounded great to me. I just wanted to lay sod. I paid him $1,050 to do the job. When we began removing all of the debris he left behind, the roots were too high to be able to possibly lay sod. I called Mr. Whitcombe and he said he would be right out to take care of it. He didn't come. When I called he repeatedly, for weeks, said the belt was broken on his stump grinder. He would have his secretary call me to give me the same story. During the original work his machinery broke one of my sprinkler heads. He said while working on the job and when I called that he would replace it. He never did. The sprinkler was like a guiser. It cost me $20 to have it replaced. Finally in mid October Norm Peirolo came by. He was a tree person/stump grinder and could see the problem in my yard. He ground the remaining stump and roots for $50. November 2 I had the sod laid. On October 25, 2010 I wrote Mr. Whitcombe. The text was: Dear Kevin, after asking for weeks to get the roots ground that you left, I had to go ahead & have Norm Peirolo finish grinding the roots so I can put down sod. I paid you on September 14th in good faith even though I could not see where the stumps were ground. Once we cleared the debris you left, it was really disappointing to find so many roots above ground level---especially after you said that all stumps and roots would be taken 12-18 inches below ground level. Norm charged $50 to finish up the job. I also had to pay my sprinkler person $20 to have the sprinkler replaced that you broke at the end of the walk. It only seems fair that you repay me the $70 I had to spend to finish your job. Sincerely, Anne Moon I called a couple of weeks after sending the letter to follow up. He got on the phone & tried to get me to accept 1/2...$35. I told him that was not acceptable. That was mid November. I never heard another word. Finally, after a BBB complaint Mr. Whitcombe brought $70 in cash to me on February 24, 2011 as reimbursement for the expenses I had incurred following his work. While here he continued to argue that he never agreed to take out all of the roots. That's just not true....... Anne Moon (Less)

Very well from start to finish - even with the additinoal day needed.

I have used Kevin Witcombe before so this was my second experience. The crew comes with about 5 men and they accomplish in one hour what most companies do in five or more hours. They are professional, have all the necessary equipment including "cherry pickers" and do exactly as requested. I can't imagine calling anyone else - ever.

Kevin's proposal meeting on June 18th was very professional. Kevin's crew were expected on Tuesday, June 24th but showed up without any communication of change on Thursday, June 19th around 4:30 PM. They worked a couple of hours and the foreman said they were tired and would be back on Friday to complete job. Back on Friday, the crew went so fast through my yard that there were lack of communication between them. Results were they trimmed two trees that were not on the list that I did not wish to be trimmed. The foremans answer to me was "I'm sorry, the guys did it while I was out back, so that's a free one". OK, I try to roll with the flow, the fullness will grow back. While they were removing a palm on side of house they cut wires to my cable & internet service but I was able to call and get a service call later that day. The clean up was not done to my satisfaction, I was out in yard on the weekend finishing what Kevin said his crew would complete. The crew were aware they cut wires to cable & internet because I went out when it happened and they quickly pointed out the wire. I suspect they also knew they broke irrigation line in that area too but said nothing to me. Since it was on the side of my house I did not know it was broken until August 7th when I was weeding and discovered the large hole at the site. I have since had that repair taken care of too. I am currently sending a copy of the irrigation repair receipt to Kevin. I am sure he will make it right. I would use this company again but think I would ask Kevin to oversee the project.

They did a great job. They were prompt, completed the job and cleaned up. I would recommend them.

Excellent job. Crew arrived with all the specialized equipment and manpower needed for the job, including Arborist. They did more than we contracted for without additional cost, and cleaned up and hauled away all debris. We highly recommend this company and would gladly use their services again.

We were very pleased with both Kevin and his crew. Kevin came right out when called to give an estimate. He provided me with references that all were very pleased with the service they had received. His crew came out and started the job when they said they would. Did an excellent job trimming and cleaning up when the job was done.
