John S. Williams showed up at the appointed day and time, spent about 10 minutes looking at the house, took my check for $300, then left. He barely said two words to me while he was here. When I received a copy of the appraisal report, I had legitimate concerns, which I addressed to him in a detailed email. For example, one of the so-called comps that he used was in a much older, run-down neighborhood 2 miles away. Also, he gave no consideration to the fact that our lot is almost twice the size of the so-called comps and on the end of a cul-de-sac. These were just a few of my concerns that I expressed to him. Mr. Williams never responded directly to me and had his secretary run interference for him. Some of the responses were downright laughable. For example, ?the larger lot size could be considered a liability because it requires more maintenance? (seriously?). When I continued to express my concerns, the secretary just quoted me his years of experience.
