IT'S ABOUT TIME

Have not heard a word since 12/22/2018 and the provided telephone number does not work. Would like to know the progress of the restoration or if completed, an avaiable pickup date and time, please.

Took clock to Mr. Bassett 4/29/17 - was told it would be about 3 months before he could start. Clock needed 2 new gears which he got made from a California company. 6/2/18 he emailed he had everything he needed and all looked good - he just needed to assemble it and would notify me when it was finished. It is now 9/29/18 and I have not heard from him since. He ignores phone calls, emails and letters by mail to both him and his wife. I have no idea if he is even still in the business or he has moved or he is ill or worse. I now think my only option is contacting the Clearwater police and this is NOT the way I want to go. I have been patient for 17 months. No one should use his service because he will not keep in touch - a customer is completely at his mercy once they leave their clock in his possession. Very unprofessional way to do business. He is very skilled and he knows he is one of a very few still working on antique clocks and this seems to be his excuse for taking as long as he wants and not communicating.

Other than William's answering machine being full (he DID call upon my sending a written Angie's List' inquiry , arranged to call back when he would be available/at home and did so exactly as promised), we were extremely pleased that he was able to work on both clocks right away, fixing both so that each worked 'like new'. I was even more pleased that he kept the cost reasonable. I/we would recommend him highly to someone who needs a clock adjusted or repaired. He was also very pleasant to my husband, who waited while the clocks were being repaired.

Mr. Bassett is very knowledgeable and personable. I am very satisfied with the quality and timeliness of the work.

Very disappointed. I called twice on two different days, reaching a full mailbox each time. My wife and I drove to the location. It is in a private home, and we did not feel comfortable knocking on the door.

We now hear the chimes every quarter hour again. Thank you, Bill!

Repaired the clock and lubricated it, in less than 30 minutes. I'd definitely recommend Bill and if I need future clock work I'll use him.
