This handyman had an attitude from the start that made me feel very uncomfortable. He and "his girlfriend" have a business together where they find out through public records new property owners and market them by mailing a "$25 off any Job" coupon. From this approach, I believe he targets new homeowners as opposed to repeat business. He was "snippy" with every response and he talked to himself all the time. When I tried to explain what I wanted done, I actually had to tell him to "take it down a notch" several times. The floor evidently needed to be leveled and he put cement down. Then he sanded it without sealing off any of the doorways. I had dust literally EVERYWHERE. Then he put 1/4" molding over-top the old 2" baseboard. It looked terrible! When I told him I didn't like it, he literally went "postal." He told me he lived in a $700,000 home in Bellaire and that's the way they do it there (that's why he does handyman work). He was so angry, I was tempted to call the police. The work was slow and messy. It took him 3 days to put the floor down and there was cement not only on the old baseboard but, on the freshly painted walls as well as a lot of glue on the floor.
