Florida Pool Tech is amazing. Called for quote, sent photos, quote within an hour and was a lot less than I had expected to pay. I’d been waiting for a quote from another company for over 1 month, which I still have not received despite calling. Accepted quote from Florida Tech and then everything was stress free and easy. Zack was scheduled for new equipment install. He was on time, extremely knowledgeable, polite and helpful. Everything installed and working in no time. I cannot adequately explain how good this company was to deal with. The install was professionally done, every detail checked. Including my height so as the control panel was placed at my eye level, I’m only 5ft. Thank you Florida Pool Tech, I will never use anyone else. I recommend this company to anyone looking for excellent pool service.

DO NOT USE THIS UNETHICAL COMPANY!! I urge you to read the other poor reviews of Florida Pool Tech, LLC before you consider hiring them to understand who you are dealing with. We called Florida Pool Tech on 10-19-17 to help us with a leak in our residential pool. They scheduled a pool inspection service on 10-25-17 with the owner's son "Joe". After 3 visits (each of which Joe was severely late on arrival) spanning over 2 weeks, we were given 3 different locations of the leak resulting in a $1,250 repair estimate. Joe inaccurately diagnosed the final leak was coming from the subterranean water return pipes; specifically, the return pipe running to the deep end of the pool. We waited before engaging this company to dig through our concrete pool as we watched the water continue to drain below the water return pipe outlet (return jet). I called Joe upset with the unfolding events and was met with severe hostility. Joe called me names, yelled at me, threatened me with a lien against my home if I did not pay the initial leak detection fee of $275, he laughed at me and accused me of building "walls" preventing him from doing his job. Three failed attempts at professionally locating the leak was evidence enough to hire another leak detection company. We hired Florida Leak Locators, Inc (800-557-2207) on 11-13-17 and they immediately came to our aid. After 10 minutes of diving the pool, "Shawn" found the leak in the main drain and repaired it with double epoxy. The job was completed in 45 minutes total. No leak, no more. Florida Pool Tech is either unskilled, unethical or both; either way they are very unprofessional and a company this home owner highly recommends you stay away from for sake of your own sanity. I have invoices, a written $1,250 estimate for repair from Florida Pool Tech supported with pictures and the final service invoice from Florida Leak Locators complete with technician notes to support what transpired. Shawn with Florida Leak Locators rightly said "There are two types of pools: one that has a leak and one that will have a leak!". I hope this review helps you. Good luck and happy hunting!

"Thank you for taking the time to rate our company. Unfortunately, our recorded phone transcripts contradict your claims and accusations. Once the recorded transcripts were provided to the other venue in which you wrote this exact complaint and apparent advertisement of a competitor (your friend) prior to writing here, which was not closed in your favor. Have a great Holiday!"

Very well on the whole. We needed to have some landscaping protected and the crew did a good job with that. My only complaint was the crew broke one of my sprinkler heads and they did not tell me about it or offer to repair the damage. Luckily I found it and was able to repair the break before any damage was done.

Would not recommend this company at all. First day on the job we were informed it would cost $750 more than what we signed the contract for because they had forgotten to include an addiontal footer. Also told us permit fees were included in the the quoted footer price of $1250. They did not pull the permit but still charged us for it as it was not a line item on the original contract (neither was the additional footer of $750 - but that was ok for them). Said they would show up to do work twice - never showed at the allot time and never called to say they would not be coming. No customer service at all. Stay away from them unless you just have money to burn - because they will take it and not think twice about it. Very unethical and unprofessional.
Response from Florida Pool Tech, LLC
"***Document Attached*** Mr. and Mrs. [Member Name Removed] were provided a quote (attached) to remodel the pool, deck and install footers to a specific area to allow a third party company to install a screen enclosure. In the middle of the job, Mr. and Mrs. [Member Name Removed] had a request for additional work to be completed in the form of 20 extra feet of footer for a bigger enclosure than originally discussed on-site. Any contractor, retail store or company will always charge for anything additional as in this case. The additional is reflected in the invoice (attached) In all communication, written estimate, typed estimate, contract and invoice, there is no mention of a charge for the permitting of the screen enclosure as the screening company (third party) was pulling the permit. Anytime a permit is required for work, the word "permit and engineering" is always 100% going to be reflected as a line item in all quotes, contracts and invoices. We have on several occasions asked Mr. and Mrs. [Member Name Removed] where they came up with the permit claims, they came up with a paper from the screening company containing the screen invoice. We contacted the screen company to find out if they understood where they were coming up with the permit information, they too, cannot understand where Mr. and Mrs. [Member Name Removed] are referring. I have attached the quote, contract and invoice to this response so it can be clear that there were no erroneous charges or permit fees other than what was requested by the homeowner. As you can see, there is NO permit/engineering charges and an additional 20 feet of footer that was requested and completed. They had no issue paying for everything except the money they held for a made up "permit" fee. Thank you!"

Florida Pool Tech did flawed work and refuses to return emails/phone calls to remedy the situation. We want the work fixed or money refunded. We first contracted with Florida Pool Tech in January of 2017. The contract called for, amongst other things, the resurfacing of the inside of our swimming pool. Work was supposed to commence Monday, February 27th. Florida Pool Tech workers did not show up until Wednesday, March 1st. No notice of the delay in starting the job was given to us. In fact, during the process Florida Pool Tech failed again and again to return phone calls or emails asking why their workers hadn't showed up to do the job. When the job was finally completed in mid March, they had done the pool resurfacing such that there is a line running from underneath a pool jet down the pool wall and across part of the pool floor. When I finally got in contact with someone at the office to ask someone to look at the line, she said the man in charge of the job would be calling me that day. Two days later he showed up, no phone call. They just don't get it that they have to communicate their intentions and think they can drop in on a private property whenever they feel like, I guess. He acknowledged the line was their fault and stated he would have a diver come out within two days to dive in the pool and apply acid directly to the line. No one showed up until the next week, in late April. Whatever he did made no immediate difference, but he did not dive the pool as we were told he had to to get the line fixed. When contacted, the office staff stated we should let it sit a while and see what happened. This week, the second week of May 2017 I attempted to contact the office and, as usual, no one answered the phone. I left a message and followed up with an email asking someone to call me that day to try and get this issue resolved. That was two days ago and still no response. I'm tired of trying to get Florida Pool Tech to fix a defect in the pool resurfacing that they caused and not getting at least the common courtesy of a return phone call or email. This business is one of the worst I have ever dealt with in communication and their work is, obviously, poor.
Response from Florida Pool Tech, LLC
"We apologize for any inconvenience. We have been able to remove the line which was caused by chemical imbalances during the first 30 days. It is highly recommended to follow the start-up procedures as outlined in the renovation contract to prevent these issues from occurring."

A technician determined we needed a new pump and indicated the company would email us a quote for the replacement. He took our cash payment ($75), did not give us a receipt and said the payment would be applied to the cost of the pump replacement. We never received a quote for the replacement and they have been billing us for the $75 service call (plus interest) even though we paid them. We have been unable to resolve this issue in spite of repeated attempts.

"Hello, As a repair company in the business to make money off repairs, this claim doesn't make any sense to us. Clarification is kindly requested. Written receipts on-site for Cash payments are always provided. An additional emailed receipt with the typed up diagnosis would also be provided. Additionally, a repair quote would be provided in all cases Please provide more information. The date you claim of service is not matching records for a related diagnosis call."

"If we can't find the leak we can't find the leak" was my favorite quote from these guys. After shelling out a few hundred bucks. They never called back after I informed them the pool was still leaking. I had to initiate every call. Finally contacted a friend who actually recommends this company and knows a person who works there. He got someone from the company to contact us. This was two months after initial service. Still didn't fix the leak and never called again to check. Worst service I've seen in quite some time. Thanks for nothing, guys!

We appreciate all feedback from previous customers, and have taken your thoughts into consideration. Could have been really bad. I just paid another company to redo work and fix two other valves for half the price.
Response from Florida Pool Tech, LLC
"Hello. We don't have any of your contact or order information to match your details. Can you please confirm this was actually us? Your order number would help if so. We have not had any contact or concerns addressed regarding an issue. Thank you! I would also like to note that in the several weeks surrounding the claimed on the work performed date does not match a job including valves. We also only use premium materials which would include repairable valves and heavy duty cement. The particular cement does not leak. We also adhere to strict company guidelines to pressure test the system and check for leaks prior to invoicing."

Poorly. Showed up late. Got involved with Seller's Real Estate Agent. More interested in talking with her than paying attention to task at hand. Paid by check and left while tech was still chatting up Real Estate agent.

Very disappointing. As far as the installation process it was fine. Workers with courteous, kept work area clean and worked fairly quickly. After the " big" job was done they left and small details of the job were ignored. The pebble surface of the pool was spotted and the tile and grout was left hazed and dirty looking. They had a pool cleaner come which they say will clean up with in a month. We were 11 weeks after the "big" job was done and still looked terrible. I do not blame pool cleaner because they left him with a mess! Finally after several emails they did another muriatic bath on it and it did clean up spotted surface. We still have white spots and sections in our mocha colored grout. Pool really needs to be grouted again. In fact I have been searching for a grout maker that dark to cover so less apparent. You should not have to do that for new grout less than 6 months old, They did fix some white grout marks on stairs and bench. They just look ok now. They also sealed travertine and there is a haze on all travertine outside of lanai. Called in other tile company and was told was not applied right and now we have a permanent haze on 3/4 of our travertine. Tile company thought we didn't have it installed all at once because color was off but not true. Also you can see circle marks of where sealer was applied. In all Florida pool tech does a fair job on installment process but when it comes to small detail work terribly disappointed. I would not recommend and if you do use them to not pay in full until everything is done to your satisfaction. They will be quick to get out and ignore you after big job is done. The owner Joe can be very disrespectful too when trying to resolve issues. He is pretty good at ignoring you too when trying to reach out to him for help. There is no pride in workmanship at the end and no empathy for customer who paid hard earned money for a job that should have been done right. Doesn't have to be perfect just right.

I contracted Florida Pool Tech to locate a leak at the top level of my pool. Jason Roberson inspected for leaks using a device which enabled him to listen for leaks. He thoroughly inspected the entire upper level of the pool and located two leaks. He also did a dye test at some other potential leak sources but didn't find any leaks there. He repaired the leaks he had identified and explained and showed me what he had done. He also told me that my pool had an overflow preventer, which is a drain line from the pool to outside of the concrete pad. He was professional and cordial and, overall, it was a very good experience. I would highly recommend for pool repairs.
