In regard to the rating on the quality of their work, I've failed them for lack of disclosure on the potential problems from certain types of stains. Responsiveness: F grade for not responding to their customers needs and complaints due to the aforementioned. Professionalism: Also an F grade due to the immediate defensive position by their employee. I considered this immediate response, and lack of empathy or willingness to help, an admission of having to deny responsibility with this problem on numerous occasions. I was told there was an exclusion clause, but reading and re-reading "all" the information provided to us by Florida Leather Gallery, there's nothing in the information excluding "body oils" as it relates to warranty exclusion. Lastly, the representative I spoke with regarding our problem "assured me" they do everything in their power to deter people from purchasing the "unprotected" leather. Completely untrue and contrary to what really happened!
Description of Work: We purchased a sofa in 2003, being told about the quality of the sofa we purchased, and how the Natuzzi leather was so much better than other leather furniture. After experiencing a problem with bodily fluids staining the expensive sofa, I was informed by Florida Furniture Gallery that they would in no way honor the warranty we purchased, which does not exclude body oils in any of the information provided to us, including the leather protection plan", or the General information provided on the reverse side of the receipt.

WE ALWAYS TRY TO GIVE OUR CUSTOMERS THE BEST EDUCATION ABOUT THEIR LEATHER CHOICES AS TO HOW IT WILL FIT IN WITH THEIR LIFESTYLE. OUR CUSTOMERS ARE ABLE TO CHOOSE ANY GRADE OF LEATHER FOR ANY STYLE WE OFFER AND ALSO CHOOSE A "PROTECTED" OR "NATURAL" LEATHER. WE GO OVER THE FACT THAT SOME LEATHERS ARE MORE POROUS THAN OTHERS AND MAY STAIN EASIER BUT ARE ALSO MUCH SOFTER. IT IS ALWAYS UP TO THE CONSUMER, OF COURSE, TO DO THEIR RESEARCH AND MAKE THE BEST DECISION FOR THEIR FAMILY. THE LEATHER PROTECTION WARRANTY THE MEMBER MENTIONED IS A SEPARATE WARRANTY BY STAINSAFE, NOT NATUZZI. THIS WARRANTY IS A CLEANING WARRANTY ONLY AND COVERS STAINS, RIPS, TEARS AND PUNCTURES FOR FIVE YEARS AFTER THE ITEM IS PURCHASED. UNFORTUNATELY, "STAINS CAUSED BY BODY OIL, HAIR OIL, PERSPIRATION, CHEWING GUM, DYES, CAUSTIC SOLUTIONS, PAINT, OR BLEACH" IS CLEARLY STATED IN THE EXCLUSION SECTION AT THE BOTTOM OF THE ACTUAL WARRANTY STATEMENT THAT HE RECEIVED ALONG WITH HIS FURNITURE AND LEATHER CARE KIT. WHEN THE MEMBER CALLED TO COMPLAIN, WE TRIED TO GIVE HIM SOME ADVICE AS TO HOW TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE HIMSELF AND WHO HE COULD CALL, SINCE IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. HE MENTIONED THAT WE SHOULD NEVER SELL A LEATHER THAT MAY STAIN. WE HAVE WORKED HARD TO ESTABLISH A REPUTATION FOR EXCELLENCE AND WHILE WE REALIZE THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO PLEASE EVERYONE, WE CONTINUE TO STRIVE TOWARDS THAT GOAL.
