I have used Douglas Manufacturing in Clearwater numerous times, both for my rental properties, as well as my home. I had numerous screens redone for my rental properties. Their prices are very competitive. Rodney, who works in the showroom is very knowledgeable with all types of windows and has helped me with repairs and adjustments of all types of window hardware in the rentals. I had Douglas Mfg service the sliding glass doors in my Florida room, that were dragging on the floor. Arranging a quick service appointment was no problem and they made the sliding doors slide like new in no time at all. Douglas Mfg offered me great pricing on hurricane impact thermal pane windows that keep the heat out of my home. I was in the Pinball and Amusement business for 25 years. Quality, Service and Reputation mean everything. Douglas Manufacturing, from the Owner on down are very professional and a pleasure to work with. My home is almost 50 years old and we have a large set of 3 sliding doors that separate the living room and Florida room. The doors became hard to close and seemed to be dragging. So I contacted Douglas Manufacturing to see if they could help. We made an appointment and today Justin and Mark came from Douglas Manufacturing to check out the problem. They showed me that the long top span of the unit had sagged a bit over the 50 years and that was the source of the friction. They removed the metal side frames from all the doors and trimmed the edges an 1/8 of an inch. Upon re-install, the doors slid easily and very smoothly. They noticed that there was a different slight rub when the doors were almost closed. Instead of just saying that it was a symptom of age that I would have to live with, they took the side rail off again and straightened the bottom side edge of the one door frame. That totally fixed the problem. It is a shame that most contractors and service people are not as knowledgeable and professional as the guys at Douglas Manufacturing. In and out in under an hour! Great job once again guys!

Douglas Manufacturing does great work and they are a pleasure to work with. We had several PGT impact resistant windows and doors that required glass replacement under warranty because the glass had fogged. Even though Douglas did not install the windows originally, Heather helped us file a warranty claim with PGT to replace the glass. We were impressed and decided to replace the balance of our non impact resistant windows in our home with new PGT impact windows. All 13 windows were installed when promised and for the agreed upon amount. Mark's installers were clean, efficient, courteous, and professional. Thanks to PGT for standing behind their product and thanks to Douglas Manufacturing for hiring great people that really know their business.

Repairs were great and I'd recommend this company. I had a hard time getting other companies to come out and give me an estimate, but Douglas Mnfr came out soon after I called them, and knew exactly what needed done to fix these windows. They came out promptly and did the repairs, did a great job, and everything looked perfect when they were done. Saved me 1000's by not having to replace these windows when the only thing wrong was leaking between glass panes and glazing.

1) Douglas Mfg delivered windows which did not meet the specification of my condo's HOA. They did so without my knowledge because they would save time and money by installing smaller windows that did not meet spec. 2) The condo building manager insisted that they remove those which has not been installed and replace them with windows that met the correct specification. Note that 3 had already been installed. 3) When problems developed with the painted surfaces of the windows they said they would assist me with resolution but did nothing and are not returning my phone calls. NOTE: CONDO BUILDING MANAGER WILL SUPPORT THESE DETAILS. DOUGLAS MFG IS NO LONGER ON APPROVED SUPPLIER LIST

Their service was professional and courteous. Great company to do business with.

They were quick and explained every cost and what to expect.

From the first phone conversations with Mark and Ken, to the setting up of service appointments and follow ups on the status of the order by Heather, and the actual service provided by Mark (Jr.) and Justin, everything about the experience with Douglas MFG was outstanding. Everybody had the most professional manner and desire to actually help solve my problem. Not only did they come to Tampa from Clearwater twice (because PGT didn't send the all the right parts, even after I sent PGT detailed pictures of the broken window mechanisms that had to be replaced), but they had a very helpful and professional attitude about the whole ordeal. Mark and Justin were very respectful, pleasant, and most careful in handling the windows and protecting the inside of the house with a floor cloth. They also replaced a plastic corner piece that chattered on one of the screens  when it accidentally fell on the tile floor the first time they came to my house. They automatically offered to take care of it when it happened, at no charge, and they remembered to bring it back!
It is truly a blessing to find a company with such great standards of professionalism and service as Douglas MFG. I am extremely pleased with their work and their charges, considering they had to make two trips to complete the job. Lastly, I asked Justin about hurricane protection for our sliding and front doors and he gave me some pointers as to my alternatives, so I will most likely be contacting Douglas MFG for our future window protection needs.

The whole experience went very well and what was the really great thing is that they originally made a mistake on the measurements of the ballast rods and they handled it so professionally well that I hardly noticed there was an error. To me, this is the real test of a great vendor....how do they handle mistakes? Do they still put the customer first and make it right? In both cases, Douglas Mfg handled it with the utmost of professionalism and I was very impressed. They didn't charge me twice, only once for the original estimate, which was the right thing to do. At no time did I feel badly at all about my choice. I would choose them again without hesitation as their professionalism and workmanship was fantastic.



The guys that came out were very friendly, very knowledgeable and even gave me a little tutorial on how the windows were constructed and how I might be able to fix them myself in the future if I wanted. They even left me with a special window tool to do it, too! I was SO impressed.....these guys were great and you cannot go wrong using them. They went above and beyond the call in my view.



I have nothing but high praise for Douglas Mfg and have all the confidence you would be happy using them, too. Great company and I love the fact they are local here in Clearwater.

Justin and Mark were on time and very professional.
The screen is very well made.

They did a wonderful job on all of the window installations. I have used Douglas in the past and was very happy with their work, but this was a very big job and I was worried about the end result. I can only say that I was more than satisfied with the way that it came out. The windows were PGT insulated windows and very heavy to work with and most of the tricky work was over head. The  two installers were pros and cleaned up every scrap. I would use this company again and have recommended them to  my neighbors.

The house has the original crank out windows throughout, and many of them weren't working well.

So I called Douglas Mfg, a window and window repair company

The technician Rodney came out and handled most of the windows that first trip.

He also gave me good advice on how to care for the windows and how to adjust

them myself.

One window required an additional trip to re-adjust it. No charge.

But that one window just wouldn't stay fixed, so I decided to screw it shut,

and he came out once again to do that. Problem solved.

The entire process was excellent from start to finish. The cost was reasonable for the item, the installation date was met and the installers were professional and very respectful of my property,  I will be using them again to replace several windows in my home. I think Mark does a wonderful job of competing with the very large window and door companies without the hard sell that usually comes with these services. I would recommend them to anyone for any of the services offered by Douglas.

Two men came to fix a broken piece of plastic.  They were in my home less than 5 minutes.  They didn't have the part with them and said they would return with it.
They showed up unannounced a week later and spent LESS THAN 1 MINUTES replacing the part.
They charged an $80 trip charge for the first visit (expected) and then an additional $35 (not expected) for the
second visit.  Not my problem that they didn't have the part in their truck with them.
When I called the owner to complain about the additional $35 charge, he was rude and dismissive.
He would rather get that extra $35 than keep me as a customer.
I would NEVER use this company.  Very unprofessional.

These guys are superb. Showed up on time for 2 needed visits. Went right to work, had all the tools, knew what they were doing, polite, courteous, listened to what the issues were and fixed every last one, plus a couple we did not realize were about to go and they pre- fixed those at no additional charge. We've had others out that could not figure the issues out. Can't go wrong here!

It went quite well. They kept me informed every step of the way. They cleaned up after the job, they were on time. They were done earlier than they said. It was a tremendous job.

Every installation was on time as scheduled.  The men worked quietly and cleaned up all debris.

The whole project was completed on time and flawlessly. As this is our vacation home, we were not there when the work was performed, but had it inspected after, and were very satisfied with both the quality of the work and the service. Very reliable.

We previously purchased PGT windows and a sliding door from Douglas Mfg. for other areas of our house. The windows have performed well and the service from Douglas Mfg. and manager Mark Miller has always been excellent. The new bedroom and bathroom windows completes the replacement of windows throughout our house. The windows were ordered and arrived as promised and work was completed quickly within two days. The workmen were knowledgeable, friendly, and polite. The windows function well and we have noticed how much less outside traffic noise we can hear now that we have new windows. As always it was a pleasure working with Mark and with Douglas Mfg. We would highly recommend Douglas Mfg. for windows and sliding doors.

Excellent. Mark Miller is wonderful to work with. He is very knowledgeable, and helpful. We were impressed by his honesty and sincerety from the first time we met him. He has never pressured us into making any decisions. When he measured for the windows Mark saw that an adjustment needed to be made so that windows would fit under hurricane panels and ordered windows custom made for us. Mark gladly postponed installation till roof replacement was completed. His crew has always been on time, completed the work as promised, worked quietly and cleaned up thoroughly. The PGT products Douglas Mfg. sells are energy star rated and qualify for a government rebate. We plan to have Douglas Mfg. replace bedroom windows next. We think Douglas Mfg. is the best window/door company in the area. They claim to have been servicing the area for 50 years and we are surprised that they are not on Angie's List. They belong with A rated companies.
