As a customer of Climate Design for over 30 years, we had both an a/c unit and all the duct work replaced in our two story home. There is a reason why we have continued trusting not only our heating and air conditioning systems, but our plumbing services with Climate Design. I can only compliment service technicians Marcus and Sean for not only their professionalism, but their desire to see their work was completed to our satisfaction. There is no other HVAC company I trust to not only service my homes equipment, but also have very competitive pricing. Van R. Bergstrom Seminole, Fl.

New Unit was installed timely per agreement (Wed). The next day (Thurs), the Unit shut down and I was able to restart it by pulling out the Emergency Drain Line shut off float and allowing it to dry off. Friday morning there was a clear "fog like" haze in house, soon after the house started "heating up". The outside Heat Pump was not working, I flipped the breakers but to no avail, Heat Pump remained "dead". Meanwhile the house is getting "hotter", I call Climate Designed (9:20) mentioning the above to "Brenda". Ms. Brenda set up a tech to come inspect the Unit. 2:00 pm the Tech shows up and confirms that the indoor Air Coil leaked out several pounds of freon (410A) and the Heat Pump is designed to shut off when refrigerant is low. The Tech then conveyed that a new air coil was needed and had to be ordered, perhaps installed Monday, "if" there was a "air coil". Furthermore, the Tech could not provide at least a loaner portable AC unit to help cool off the house on the weekend and maybe beyond Monday, due to lack of part availability. Afterward, I had to contact Poison Control due to the inhalation of 410A freon gas that leaked into the house. Everyone at this stage seems ok according to Poison Control. Today, Saturday several unsuccessful attempts to Climate Designed ("CD")executed seeking a loaner Unit, unfortunately, the local Home Depot and Walgreen "AC window units" are all sold out. Ms. Brenda operating the CD telephone lines conveyed that she emailed "Anthony" and other corporate officers of the current situation. No one has reached out nor anticipated. Ty the salesman also erred in the earlier stages of this transaction when he cleared a 1983 Zinsco style breaker box in which he approved that certain amperage breakers would pass inspection and that the "wiring was up to grade". However, on installation day, the Electrician did not like the two (2) breakers and needed those to be replaced (which I have purchased from Amazon [because he did not have the breakers in stock]). Electrician also demanded that a new "run" of wire must be installed with a new gauge wire, running from the indoor handler to the breaker box at the rate of additional $600. In this case CD did the right thing and absorbed the Run into the cost of install, however, Ty the salesman was upset with me for challenging the cost. As of this time, and reviewing other complaints about CD on Angi's List, Ty the salesman declaration that "parts" are always available at their headquarters are inaccurate and goggle search of "Trane Defects" will yield at least one (1) class action suit and numerous complaints about Trane air coils failing due to the use of cheap aluminum , that breakdown over time and leak out freon. As a small business owner myself, with the above mention statement of events, I do not understand why CD does not have a surplus Air Coils in stock, and portable Units to prevent leaving a customer in a "hot house". In addition, "warn" customers of the air coil defect and if a homeowners sees a clear "fog like" haze inside their home......to turn off the Unit and immediately vent out the house with fresh air.

I have been a client of Climate Design for over a year and continue to be genuinely impressed by the calibre of professional technicians I've interacted with over that period. The latest was Kane. He was punctual, professional, patient and above all, extremely knowledgeable. This says a lot about this company and the quality of people they employ. I highly recommend Climate Design.

Inexperienced technician showed up that Mis diagnosed the problem. 3 rd time within a year to have service performed. All three costing between $1200 - $1500 in labor cost alone. This last time I was told that my compressor was shot. $1500 to fix ( labor and materials). Part was covered by Trane warranty. I had another local AC company come out to double check. A non branded jump start part was placed on my Trane which shorted out. The instructions specify that only a Trane brand jump start kit with a specific model number goes on this unit. Once the bad jump start kit was removed the compressor worked again. Total $149 for the repair. Climates Design is refusing to talk with me regarding this issue. These fraudulent business practices probably happen more than not. Be careful with them. There are cheaper better companies out there

Deliberately blew 3 pounds of Freon into the AIR as they were leaving so the system would appear to be leaking, while they kept encouraging me to just buy a new system. They were there to just replace a capacitor fan motor. As Brian Wahl was leaving I walked up behind him to give him a cash tip. He was not expecting me out by the unit for no reason and was shooting like yellow stone park geyser amounts out of freon into the air. When he noticed me he yelled STAND BACK!!! STAND BACK!!! fREON CAN FREEZE your finger right off like glass! And I was alking right up on all this. I asked what he was doing and he said closing up his equiptment. My neighbor also saw him shooting the FREON but thought I was walking up to handle the situation. Brian Wahl told me my system had 11 pounds of freon--proper amount but set up a date for quote for new system. Next day by 10 AM the coolant could not keep up and next tech Thomas Robinson sent out "Anthony" demanded to know why I would not just buy a new system and keep dumping money into an old Trane system. (This was not true, I had not dumped much into it at all....) He claimed I was low on Freon and Freon is $100 a pound. I described Brian releasing it the day before and how he did it...and Anthony almost fainted. He grasped he was told to push me for a new system (before he even got there) but did not know CRIMES went down to get me low on freon. I BEGGED him to please add the 3 1/2 Pounds of Freon back in and I would PAY for it. He was so upset but he felt bad he did and I paid some $385 more. BUT MAN DID HE WANT TO GET IN THE TRUCK AND LEAVE because he knew he could loose his right to EVER fix AC if he were to toss freon in the AIR ON PURPOSE. Talked to owner today Anthony Robinson who would gladly refund me all the money back BUT not replace any melting product in my home or give me the $10k fine the EPA says they must pay to me for doing that. WATCH EVERY MOVE THEY MAKE!!! They want to get you HOT and discouraged and Anthony Robinson told me he wont pay any damages or fines. I am a widow and do not need this crap-but no one needs this crap.

See lawsuit filed in the Pinellas County Small Claims Court (Case # 16-006960-SC). Review Document 10/24/2016 ORDR DIR CLERK DISTRIB COURT REGIS FUNDS (Listed as a photograph in this review) ordering restitution in the amount of $2,510.50 to be paid to the court registry for the benefit of the plaintiff (homeowner). Review ALL document to fully understand this case. "Defendant (Climate Design) having paid [restitution] as agreed, FINAL JUDGEMENT in this cause is STAYED and the Clerk is directed to disburse all funds currently held in the Court Registry to Plaintiff (Homeowner)." My advice? Either hire a GREAT attorney, or find another A/C company.

They came out to do a tune up and replaced a part. I appreciated the monthly payment for the tune up. It took them 3 days to give me an estimate. It seemed like because I was a woman they didnt want to give me the information when my husband was not here. It was like pulling teeth for the communication for the estimate.

We have used them for 20 years. We are very happy with them. They come out once a year. I am on a program. Sometimes it is more often than that. Something that keeps us going back to them is the categories that were just mentioned. When we have a problem, they come out, and they take care of it. It's not usually the same person that come comes out. I've had people come out often enough so that I know a few of them. I am familiar with them. They installed our unit some time ago.

Along with annual service, I was sold an extra air cleaning system plus a 2 year HVAC energy "savings" agreement in the process. A couple weeks later the system died, and based on replacement estimates (more than double what other reputable companies quoted), I decided to have a different company replace it. For the $800+ I had spent with Climate Design, CD refunded $27, saying I had received "discounts" on several items. As I found out too late, they have a reputation as scammers; don't know why they are getting any good ratings except people happened to have good luck.
