I purchased an inexpensive laminate - my fault - but the sales person never explained what could damage laminate. I had an elderly dog and had a difficult time protecting the flooring from damage. Had I known that laminate would not hold up, I might have made a different choice.
In the end, you get what you pay for.
We had to canceled the order do to the fact that we where unable to close on home.
We expected to be charged back 20% ofr the flooring. Instead they charged us back 20% for everything including the Glue.
They also never ordered the floor the first time, they said that it was on back order Found out that it was in stock the whole time.
We found out that it was in stock at the warehouse so they ordered it again. We canceled the job the next day but now they told us it was to late the floor was coming in that day. Tryed to get some store credit back so we can buy flooring down the road but they said they would not be able to help us at all. I guess they loss a customer that has spent many thousands with them.
The contractors came out on time and make quick work of demo-ing our existing ceramic tile. They laid 1,100 sq. ft. of hard wood in 2 days. It looks great and the installer Eric was very nice and professional. His crew was very nice as well. I have nothing but nice things to say about them and the job they did.
The carpet installers were a different crew and were ok but didn't fit the edges of the carpet under the baseboards quite like we expected. We asked while they were there and they said, and quot;that's just the way it is because of the seaming.and quot; I'm not gonna beg the guy to do his job so we called Mike back at the store and he said, and quot;no, if you're not happy we're not happy.and quot; They were supposed to come back and fix it. We still haven't heard back from them or Bob's Carpet Mart and now our furniture is in place and it's not my job to make sure they do thiers. My C's for Overall experience, professionalism and quality, and the D for repsonsiveness are due to them not addressing the problems I had with the carpet installation.
"In response to the complaint of moisture on the wood flooring, we had commissioned an independant inspection of this condition. After leaving several messages for the customer, this service had been able to contact and arrange for an inspection of the flooring and site conditions. The inspection service reported that upon their evaluation, it was found that the consumer has a planter/flower area immediately outside of the room in which the floor has been affected. The construction of this has apparently allowed moisture to seep through the wall and impact the flooring. This condition has been determined to be a site related concern not related to either installation or manufacturing. As a result of these findings, unfortunately there is no responsibility that can be taken by anyone other than the consumer."
