We had issues with our pool and i wanted to get a quote on what it would be to fix. I spoke to Marty and he said someone would come out and fix it on monday. Monday came and our filter still wasn't fixed. On tuesday it was still broke. On wednesday i called and he said someone would be out on thursday. Thursday and friday nobody had come out. Someone finally came the following wednesday. I never heard from anyone after they came out.I got a bill for $136. All i wanted was a quote and Marty knew this. After talking to him and arguing his response was "we did what we thought would be best" i refuse to use them in the future. They respond to phone calls but will give you false promises and wont follow up on the work they do.

Jim cares for our pool in New Tampa.  He helped it get it going initially by applying a shock treatment (it had gone a few weeks without chemicals and had gotten an algae bloom before we moved in).  He has also helped us repair a leaky pump and done a super surface clean.

Used this service for the past 3 years, pool was often green and not well cared for. My pool is not screened in and I was told that it was dirty because of the trees in my yard. Since a switched to a new provider my pool is clean. I knew it wasn't my fault. Good at first. .. bad at the end.

The owner goes out of town every holiday and I have had enough. He sends out young kids and they didn't come on the date and time I specified. I was unable to get a set time and date for repairs and service, so the company has a key to the locked fence. In the event that the fence is left open, I would be held liable. Upon cancellation of the servic,e I still have not received the key. At times I wanted to ask the representatives questions and most times they are unresponsive and rude. Their bills are erratic and highly questionable, including the inability to find out the correct tax rate. The same part was replaced multiple times.

The company provided the services as requested. There could have been better communication, but overall, I am satisfied.

Price was about $200 more than other quotes for the same product.
Response from Bayside Pool Service

"I believe this quote was made over the phone. There is no record of having been to the customer's home. It is possible that the customer may have thought we were quoting a complete pump rather than a motor. We are normally very competitive in our pricing. As the profit margin for pumps and motors is very low it would be nearly impossible to be this much higher than other licensed and reputable companies."

Requested services to repair and maintain pool. Marty and staff were extremely responsive for our requests for services. Worked with us and clearly communicated service needs and follow through, even though we are part time residents. Repaired and replaced missing parts and serviced pool. Excellent service, communication, price and work quality. Would highly recommend Bayside Pool Services.

Bayside Pool was able to come out the next day and fix the leaking pool pump while I was at work. For me, the service was quick, painless, and highly efficient. My pump looks better than it has in a long time. The service tech called me at work to fill me in on the job. Very polite and easy to work with.

I called around and Marty returned my call even though he was out of state. He couldn't help me, but got one of his guys that came over within an hour and replaced our motor. He was prompt, professional and clean... 2 days before Christmas on his day off. I can't say enough good things about this company. You DO want to use them!

Work was done on day promised but main leak (the reason I called) was NOT even addressed. I assume other work was done as was supposed to be but after they claimed the job was done, there was still a leak so bad that the pump would not prime on its own. I had to leave work in middle of my day to meet repair person to show him a major leak. They were not able to fix the leak (they thought it was a warped lid on leaf canister).

I was charged for an O ring which I had just replaced and for a bag of salt (although I did not discuss this with them before they did it. I had salt in the garage but they put their own in the pool without asking. Can't return salt, right?)

It's been over a month and they have not gotten back with me as they promised they would about trying to remedy the problem. They've been paid and apparently don't care to keep their word. Did they really put salt in the pool? Did they really break down the filter and clean it? Did they really clean the salt cell? I truly don't know but considering they have not contacted me back about the leaf canister lid, I have my doubts.
Response from Bayside Pool Service

"I would first like to say that Bayside Pool Service has a 20+ year reputation for quality and stands behind all workmanship. I did find the work order and we did a complete tear down, cleaned the salt cell and replaced ball valve handle. Our tech did speak to the member. We did 2 visits to the home to try to stop the leak. We were there 2 hours at one visit. He was told that the cover of the leaf canister was most likely the cause of the air leak. We took it to our distributor to obtain one and was told that they do not make it any more and the best thing to do was to cut out the leaf canister since it is before the pump. We did try to add a gasket since the home owner wanted to keep the canister in place. If we were to get back to him I do appologize at this point. We do want to make it right for him."

We weren't home. The work was done while we were away; it was a pleasant surprise to find it all installed neatly and out of sight. The next month we had 7" of rain in 4 days and we used the drain hose twice. It was quick and easy, and it would have taken us hours to bail the extra water in the pool manually! Very professional; however, we hired them for bi-weekly pool service and it is $80 a month, which seems high. We'll see. We have never had a pool before, so have no experience with this area. The price rating of "C" is for the monthly service, not the valve installation.

SUPERIOR service. There is no need to look at any other company for your pool services. This is the second time I have used Bayside and I am extremely pleased. If your call is not answered immediately, your message is returned promptly. Each time the service needed was completed within 24 hours with no drama.

They inspected the pool pump and explained that our pump had a "high energy day" switch and that it automatically turned off to reduce energy. We inquired about converting to a salt system and they very simply provided us with the cost and pros and cons. Bayside has won our business. Thanks for being accomodating and resonable!

Terrific service! I called mid morning on Friday to set up a time for someone to look at my pool pump. It was not working and had tripped the breaker. Marty stopped by that same afternoon and confirmed it needed to be replaced. He did not have one of the parts with him, or he would have done it right then. Said he would be back at some point on Saturday to replace the motor. I mentioned that I would be gone most of the day and he said no problem, he would do the job and mail me the bill. He even reminded me to use the Angie's List coupon. It's so nice to have a local company that you can trust to do business with.
