Ms. Tasker did not file our home owners paperwork on time, causing us to have pre-existing conditions.  Specifically, 2 weeks after moving in our water heater broke, along with a couple other minor disasters.  I called our home owners insurance and they said that the paperwork was never turned in by the agent, Ms. Tasker.  I called Ms. Tasker and miraculously the paperwork was turned in that very day. Not only had the water heater stopped working, so did the air handler, and pool pump.  Had I not called to advise the home owner insurance until the next day, when the paperwork was complete and the insurance was in effect, they would not have considered these things pre-existing. Not only have we had to pay an enormous amount of money out of pocket to prove that these things have been fixed, we have had to get them fixed by licensed and insured professionals, instead of just fixing things ourselves, just to keep them working, until we could really afford a professional.  I think my point has been made. I hope I have explained things thoroughly enough.  So, in order for our homeowners policy to be accurate and complete, we have spent in excess of $2500 because of a simple piece of paper that was not turned in on time.  We also had to hire another licensed and insured contractor to do yet another 5 point inspection to make sure the work was properly done.The home owners insurance required this in order to reinstate our policy.   I don't care if Ms. Tasker is a family friend of my sister in law, there is no excuse for not doing your job and being unprofessional. We are seriously thinking of taking her to smalls claims court, where she will have to also pay any legal fees, as I am positive the court will rule in our favor. The proof is in the paperwork, or lack there of.
Please make sure that there will be no threats or eggs thrown at my house. I am anticipating a very negative response from Ms. Tasker and fear the worst!
